Stand der TechnikState of the art
The present invention relates to a protective device for an electronic component, in particular for a pressure sensor, and to a sensor component with an electronic component and such a protective device, preferably the monitoring of electrochemical energy storage in the form of batteries and battery cells, in particular lithium-sulfur - and lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The present invention further relates to a method of manufacturing such a sensor component.
In the technical field of battery technology, it is currently known to carry out a monitoring of an operating state of a galvanic cell, better known as a battery cell, for example on lithium-ion basis, especially for electric vehicles, based on the measurement of various externally detectable characteristics of the battery cell. As externally detectable parameters, for example, the voltage of the battery cell and its temperature can be measured by means of sensors attached to the battery cell to be monitored. In the context of the progressive development of batteries, it is now increasingly important to increase the measurement accuracy of such characteristics as well as not yet comprehensible characteristics in the monitoring of the battery cell to include, such as the measurement of internal characteristics such as voltage, temperature, pressure or the like which are present inside the battery cell to be monitored. However, the conditions within a battery cell, especially in view of the increased use of critical media such as aggressive electrolytes but for the commonly used for appropriate measuring equipment packaging materials such as molding compound, PCB, adhesives, gels and the like are not necessarily suitable. In particular, introducing unsuitable materials into a battery cell, for example by inserting a conventional pressure sensor into the battery cell, can greatly endanger the cell stability of the battery cell due to possible undesired chemical reactions with the electrolyte used. In addition, the sensor function can be affected by chemical reactions of the sensor materials with the electrolyte of the battery cell, up to the complete failure of the sensor. As an example of the construction of such a battery cell, it may be present, inter alia, in the form of a so-called pouch cell, in which at least one battery module is completely enveloped by a flexible sheath together with the corresponding electrolyte, the battery contacting being led out of the sheath in a fluid-tight manner. Typical known media-resistant sensor concepts, such as those used for example in automotive engineering in the area of the exhaust gas line or in a transmission oil circuit, are generally unsuitable owing to the distinctly different chemistry of a battery electrolyte and, moreover, are associated with high costs.

Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
Against the foregoing background, the present invention provides an improved protection device for at least one electronic component of a sensor component for placement within an electrolyte storage electrochemical energy store, an improved sensor component for placement within an electrolyte medium-containing electrochemical energy store, and an improved method of manufacturing a sensor component provided for placement within an electrochemical energy store having an electrolyte medium. The electrolyte medium is an aggressive medium in front of which the sensor component is to be protected. Advantageous embodiments emerge from the respective subclaims and the following description.
According to the invention, the present invention provides inter alia a protective device for at least one electronic component of a sensor component for arrangement within an electrochemical energy store having an electrolyte medium. The protective device has an at least partially flexible casing, a housing with at least one recess for receiving the electronic component and optionally an application-specific integrated circuit ("ASIC"), and an incompressible medium provided in the recess, for example in the form of an incompressible gel, Silicone oil or the like, which surrounds the electronic component, so this can absorb completely in itself. The housing of the protective device is further surrounded by the shell, that is completely enclosed by this, and connected to it, whereby the shell and the incompressible medium in the recess directly communicate with each other. The direct connection between the shell and the incompressible medium means that there is no compressible medium between the shell and the incompressible medium at least in the region of the recess, in particular no air, which falsify a transmission of the pressure in the region of the recess on the incompressible medium or completely prevent it. An electronic component, which in particular may be part of an electrical or electronic circuit, can accordingly be protected by the protective device according to the invention, in particular by the sleeve, from interacting with a surrounding medium. The shell portion connected to the housing defines a so-called envelope membrane, which is in contact with the incompressible medium. With the protective device according to the invention it can be achieved accordingly to minimize the influence of the residual shell, that is, the influence of the portions of the shell outside the enveloping membrane as well as the influence of movements and mechanical stresses of the portions of the shell outside the enveloping membrane to the pressure measurement and control ,
The electrochemical energy store can be a battery, a battery cell or galvanic cell or the like, in particular in the form of a secondary electrochemical cell, as a stand-alone unit or as a subunit, for example a so-called battery pack or the like. The electrochemical energy store may be provided for example for an electric vehicle, hybrid electric vehicle or the like.
The housing of the protective device may be, for example, a standard packaging such as a mold or premold housing. The sheath of the present invention may consist of a material that does not allow a significant interaction with, for example, the electrolyte of a battery and further may allow electrically insulated passage of at least one electrical conductor for contacting the electronic component through the shell. The material of the sheath of the protective device may be chemically resistant to the electrolyte medium. In this case, the material of the shell, which is chemically low-interaction or interaction-free in contact with the electrolyte medium, form at least one outer surface of the shell. The sheath may be partially or completely flexible or, for example, rigid at one or more edge regions and otherwise flexible. A rigid edge region may arise, for example, in that two sections of the sleeve are joined together, for example, welded together. Also, the shell may have a rigid seam. By making the shell at least partially flexible, the shell can be deformed due to pressure fluctuations within the electrochemical energy store. The shell may be made of a sheet-like material. In particular, the sheath may consist of a foil or have a foil. Thus, a film-like bag may be formed by the sheath, in which the housing can be received together with the electronic component and the incompressible medium. The film may be, for example, a plastic film or a metal foil. It may be a coated film, preferably a specially coated aluminum foil, which is similarly used for external packaging of batteries. The film may have an aluminum layer with a thickness of 20-40 microns, which are necessary for the barrier effect for electrolyte components or water, and may also be coated with electrolyte-resistant thermally sealable materials having a thickness of 40-80μm, wherein between the sealable materials and the aluminum layer is an adhesive material having a thickness of about 1 micron. For example, the film may be a plastic-coated metal foil, wherein the metal foil may be plastic-coated on one or both sides. This has the advantage that the shell has a chemical resistance to the electrolyte, a good shape matching, good mechanical properties and an electrically insulating property. To form the shell, the film can be folded once and superimposed edges of the film can be connected to each other.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the sheath in the region of the recess with a housing edge surrounding the recess at least partially, preferably continuously connected. The housing, which preferably has a unilaterally open recess with a rectangular plan, that is, a rectangular recess has, corresponding to a housing edge surrounding the recess. This housing edge, which represents a Aussparungsumrandung is connected to the shell in such a way that as continuous as possible connecting seam between the shell and the edge of the housing is present. Preferably, the connection between the housing and shell, so the connection seam between the shell and the edge of the housing from the incompressible medium spaced to prevent contact between the connecting seam and incompressible medium. An appropriate distance is preferably between 0.5 and 3mm. The rectangular shape of the recess serves, among other things, to simplify the construction of the sensors and to enable a uniform orientation even with a round housing shape.
Furthermore, in the protective device according to the invention, an edge may be provided on the housing which surrounds the recess and which separates the connection between the housing and the housing from the incompressible medium. Such an edge may be in the form of a step formed downwardly from the recess such that a connection between the shell and the housing is provided on the lowered step and thereby the connection is separated from the incompressible medium To prevent contact between a resulting in the connection between the shell and the housing connecting seam and incompressible medium. The edge is preferably a peripheral edge for the separation of connecting seam and incompressible medium, so that no mixing of medium and seam occurs during a connection process. A connection between the casing and the casing, that is to say forming a corresponding connecting seam, can preferably be effected by heat sealing, inter alia by means of heat input, where heat sealing lacquers, that is to say dispersion of solvent and plastic particles, enables a thermal joining of a thermoplastic material with a further material, which with the heat-sealing lacquer, such as Degalan ® PM666 Evonik, is coated and enters into a connection with this. The thermal joining achieves a fluid-tight connection between the two materials, which is not necessarily chemically resistant to an electrolyte. A typical application of such a heat sealing lacquer compound is, for example, the connection of an aluminum lid and a thermoplastic yogurt cup or the connection of the parts of a blister pack. Alternatively, can be dispensed with a sealing wax in a combination of a thermoplastic material for the housing and a corresponding film as a shell, since the connection of the shell with the housing, so the aforementioned connection seam, can also be achieved directly by pure heat input. An example of a possible pairing is polypropylene as a sealing material on the film and a housing made of polypropylene. The connecting seam, for example produced by a sealing lacquer applied to the upper edge of the housing before it has been covered with an electrolyte protective film, defines the surface of the enveloping membrane to be formed by the shell, thereby minimizing the influence of the shell outside the shell membrane surface on it.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the corners and / or edges of the housing may additionally or alternatively be rounded in the case of the protective device according to the invention, in particular in cylindrically symmetrical, cubic or cuboidal shape of the housing. This means that the outer corners and / or edges of the housing may be at least partially rounded, with the lying in the recess corners and / or edges thereof are excluded. Such a rounding of the outer corners and / or outer edges of the housing serves to minimize the tension of the shell in a wrapping of the electronic component in the protection itself, as rounded corners and / or edges lead to less drape and thus less mechanical stresses in create the shell. Furthermore, by a nearly ideal adaptation of the shell to the shape of the housing, a reduction of voids or an almost complete avoidance of cavities can be achieved, which can sometimes be the cause of uncontrolled mechanical stresses in the enveloping region above the electronic component. According to a preferred embodiment of this embodiment, the cross-sectional shape of the housing in extreme cases undergoes a lens shape, that is an oval elliptical shape, either in cylindrically symmetrical shape or only in one dimension, which optimally converts the aforementioned advantages accordingly. This means that in the case of the protective device according to the invention with a lenticular housing, the envelope rests on the housing, at least for the most part, wrinkle-free. According to a development, the shell may have an embossment which is introduced into it in advance and which follows or corresponds to the housing shape. Again, a round housing shape is advantageous, as this no sharp edges must be provided when embossing the shell, whereby excessive thinning or thinning of the shell can be avoided at the points corresponding to the edges. An embossing of the shell can give this higher stability and facilitate a wrinkle-free attachment of the shell to the housing.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a sensor component for placement within an electrolyte storage electrochemical energy store comprising at least one electronic component and a previously described protection device, said protection device sealing the electronic component fluid tightly to the outside and a portion of the shell overlying electronic component is coupled via the incompressible medium to the electronic component. The electronic component is preferably a pressure sensor, in which a measurement of the pressure to be detected by the deflection of a pressure sensing membrane is made, for example, consists of silicon and through which a hermetically sealed cavity is provided. In the case of the sensor component according to the invention, the sheath membrane corresponding to that with the housing is accordingly connected envelope portion is disposed directly over the pressure sensing membrane of the pressure sensor, coupled to the pressure sensing membrane via the incompressible gel, whereby a membrane system is formed, which can be viewed in the sense of a parallel connection of two springs. If there is now an external pressure on the envelope, the envelope membrane is first deflected accordingly, the deflection being transmitted via the incompressible medium to the pressure-detecting membrane of the pressure sensor. Since there is no compressible medium between the incompressible medium and the shell in the present case, the deflection of the enveloping membrane is transmitted directly to the pressure sensing membrane, wherein only the material properties of the enveloping membrane must be included, among other things by avoiding mechanical stresses in the enveloping membrane be caused by movements of the shell outside the seam between the shell and housing, for example, by handling the sensor component in an installation of the sensor component in an electrochemical energy storage.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is further provided a method of making a sensor device for placement within an electrochemical energy store having an electrolyte medium, comprising the steps of: providing at least one electronic device in a recess in a housing; Introducing an incompressible medium into the recess surrounding the electronic component; Providing a shell which surrounds the housing with electronic component and incompressible medium; Evacuation of the shell; Clamping the shell, and connecting the shell to the housing so that the shell and the incompressible medium in the region of the recess directly communicate with each other. Preferably, the step of connecting between the shell and the housing takes place by heat input and / or heat sealing, preferably by means of heat sealing lacquer. The method of the invention is also preferably conducted under vacuum to ensure that there is no air in evacuating the envelope between the incompressible medium and the envelope. Such a method can be used to produce a sensor component with an electronic component and a protective device as described above, with the previously explained explanations of terms, materials used, etc. correspondingly being applied.
The method according to the invention may further comprise the step of closing the envelope, which may be carried out under vacuum prior to stretching the envelope over the housing and connecting the envelope to the housing, or following these steps the step of closing the sheath is preferably effected by heat input and / or heat sealing, preferably by means of heat sealing lacquer.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
With the above-described improved protection device, the improved sensor component and the improved method for producing this sensor component, it is possible to minimize the influence of the envelope, ie the enveloping film on the pressure measurement and control or ideally avoided altogether. The defined connection of the shell with the edge of the shell, for example through the heat seal lacquer, leads to a mechanical decoupling of the shell membrane from its outer regions as well as to a precise definition of the shell membrane surface. The use of a film as thin as possible for the shell while maintaining the necessary barrier effect against the electrolyte minimizes the influence of the shell membrane on the pressure measurement also by thereby the "spring constant" of the shell membrane can be reduced.
With the improved protection device described above, in particular with the protective device having a housing with rounded corners and / or edges, a vanishingly small drape of the cover and thus less mechanical tension in the cover film can be achieved. In addition, this leads to a nearly ideal adaptation of the shell to the shape of the housing and thus to a reduction or complete avoidance of potential cavities, which are sometimes the cause of uncontrolled mechanical tension in the shell and in particular in the shell membrane.
