Description
The invention relates to a method for controlling an output voltage of a battery system having a plurality of battery cells, which are electrically connected such that battery cells of the battery system are respectively connected to the battery system according to a first switching state and are electrically bridged according to a second switching state, wherein for adapting an actual Output voltage of the battery system to a target output voltage at least one switch-on probability is generated and the battery cells are connected to the at least one generated switch-on probability the battery system.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a battery system comprising a plurality of electrically interconnected battery cells, a plurality of drive circuits and a control unit for controlling an output voltage of the battery system provided by the battery cells, wherein the battery cells each one of the drive circuits is assigned and the battery cells each by means of the drive circuits Battery system can be switched on or can be electrically bypassed.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
To meet requirements of battery systems in terms of their capacity and / or performance, it is known to electrically interconnect battery cells. In particular, it is known to interconnect a plurality of battery cells electrically in series with a battery string and to connect these battery strings in turn electrically in parallel with each other. In order to provide a required output voltage through the battery system, it is also known to connect such battery strings and / or individual battery cells of a battery system to the battery system, so that these battery cells provide a voltage contribution to the output voltage. Likewise, in order to provide a required output voltage, it is known to electrically bridge battery cells of the battery system in order to disconnect the battery cells from the battery system in such a way that they do not contribute any voltage to the output voltage of the battery system.
The problem here is in particular that the individual battery cells with respect to their capacity and their internal resistance have deviations, especially for manufacturing reasons, so that the battery cells usually have divergent states of charge.
Furthermore, it is known in the prior art to generate a switch-on probability, wherein the battery cells are switched to the battery system with this switch-on probability. For example, if a battery system is designed to provide a maximum output voltage of 400 volts, with all the battery cells interconnected to provide the output voltage, and a target output voltage of 300 volts is required, a turn-on probability of 75 percent is set to achieve the predetermined target voltage. To reach output voltage.
This switch-on probability is advantageously communicated to the battery cells or corresponding drive circuits of the battery cells via a central communication bus of the battery system. In particular, it is known that each battery cell itself determines a battery cell associated quality factor, which may depend for example on the battery cell voltage of this battery cell, the battery cell temperature and / or the state of charge of the battery cell (SOC, SOC: State of charge).
Taking into account the quality factor of the battery cell and the predetermined switch-on probability then battery cells are connected to the battery system. In this case, the target output voltage is set on average. A disadvantage of this method is that the case may occur that the battery cells are switched so that a large deviation of the actual output voltage from the target output voltage occurs. This would then be corrected by the regulation in that the switch-on probability is adjusted accordingly. However, this can lead to undesirable outliers of the actual output voltage. If, in order to avoid this problem, the switch-on probability would not be redefined, disadvantageously an autonomous cell balancing would no longer be realized.
Against this background, it is an object of the present invention to improve the regulation of the output voltage of a battery system. In particular, an improved adaptation of an actual output voltage of a Battery system can be achieved to a desired output voltage. It should advantageously be avoided strong deviations of the actual output voltage of the desired output voltage. An autonomous cell balancing should advantageously continue to be possible.
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
To achieve the object, a method for controlling an output voltage of a battery system with a plurality of battery cells, which are electrically connected such that battery cells of the battery system are respectively connected to the battery system according to a first switching state and are electrically bypassed according to a second switching state, proposed for adapting an actual output voltage of the battery system to a desired output voltage at least one switch-on probability is generated and the battery cells are switched to the battery system with the at least one generated switch-on probability, and wherein for adapting the actual output voltage of the battery system to the desired output voltage additionally a switching probability is generated and change the battery cells with the generated switching probability the respective switching state.
The switch-on probability is advantageously the probability that an electrically bridged battery cell is to be connected to the battery system. The switch-on probability preferably has a value between 0 and 1.
The switchover probability is advantageously the probability that a battery cell changes its switching state at all, ie in particular changes from the first switching state to the second switching state or changes from the second switching state to the first switching state. It is possible in principle that the switching probability can also assume a value between 0 and 1.
A battery cell of the battery system is advantageously always either connected to the battery system or electrically bridged, the battery cell by a change in the interconnection, in particular by driving switching elements, from one switching state in the other switching state can change, so for example, from the switching state "electrically bypassed" can switch to the switching state "connected to the battery system".
If a battery cell of the battery system is connected to the battery system, this battery cell advantageously provides a voltage contribution to the output voltage of the battery system. When charging the battery system, battery cells connected to the battery system are also advantageously recharged.
If a battery cell of the battery system is electrically bridged, this battery cell advantageously provides no voltage contribution to the output voltage of the battery system. When charging the battery system electrically bridged battery cells are also advantageously not recharged.
By generating a switching probability in addition to the switch-on probability and the central transmission of this switching probability and the switch-on probability to the battery cells of a battery system deviations between the actual output voltage and the target output voltage are advantageously reduced.
For this purpose, it is provided in particular that the switching probability with small deviations between the actual output voltage and nominal output voltage has small values, so that virtually the readiness of a battery cell to change its switching state is lower and thus strong deviations from the desired value when specifying a new switch-on probability advantageously be avoided. Small deviations between the actual output voltage and the desired output voltage are in particular deviations of less than seven percent.
Furthermore, it is provided in particular that the switching probability has large values for large deviations between the actual output voltage and the desired output voltage, so that the readiness of a battery cell to change its switching state is greater, and thus advantageously a faster and better adaptation of the actual output voltage to the Target output voltage can thus be achieved when setting a new switch-on probability. Large deviations between the actual output voltage and the desired output voltage are in particular deviations of more than twenty percent.
Advantageously, the change in the switching state still depends on the quality factor determined by the respective battery cell, the determination of the quality factor taking place in particular as known in the prior art. The quality factor may in particular depend on the state of charge of the battery cell and / or the battery cell temperature of the battery cell and / or the battery cell voltage of the battery cell.
By specifying the switch-on probability and switchover probability taking into account the respective quality factor of the respective battery cell, autonomous cell balancing is advantageously made possible, advantageously while avoiding the occurrence of large deviations between the actual output voltage and the desired output voltage.
In particular, it is provided that the at least one switch-on probability and / or the at least one switchover probability are generated as a function of the difference between the setpoint output voltage and the actual output voltage, preferably as a function of the difference between the setpoint output voltage and the actual output voltage.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention, the switching probability is generated as a function of the amount of the difference between the desired output voltage and the actual output voltage. This means that it is irrelevant in this embodiment for the size of the switching probability to be generated, whether the actual output voltage is greater or less than the desired output voltage.
Particularly preferably, the switching probability is generated in proportion to the amount of the difference between the desired output voltage and the actual output voltage. In particular, it is provided that the magnitude of the generated switchover probability increases linearly in relation to an increase in the amount of the difference between the desired output voltage and the actual output voltage.
Advantageously, the switching probability is greater than zero. This means that a switching probability other than 0 is always generated, so that a switchover of the battery cells between the first switching state and the second switching state is always possible, even if the probability for such a switching is possibly low. Thus, an autonomous cell balancing, in particular taking into account the quality factor of the respective battery cell, is advantageously also possible.
In a generation of the switching probability based on a switching probability function, in particular a linear switching probability function, the switching probability function advantageously has a predetermined offset when the actual output voltage matches the desired output voltage. In particular, this offset can have a value between 0.001 and 0.01. The switching probability is then advantageously always at least as large as the predetermined offset.
As a further particularly advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention it is provided that the switching probability and / or an increase in the switching probability is limited when the amount of the difference between the desired output voltage and the actual output voltage exceeds a predefined value. Advantageously, the value is predefined as an absolute value, for example as a value of 20 volts or more, and / or as a relative value, for example as a deviation of more than 15%. If this predefined value is exceeded, it is provided as an embodiment variant that the generated switching probability is limited to a maximum value, in particular a value between 0.6 and 0.9. As a further embodiment variant, it is provided that the switchover probability, when the predefined value is exceeded, continues to increase with further increasing magnitude values of the difference between the setpoint output voltage and the actual output voltage, but less strongly than in the case of magnitude values that are smaller than the predefined value ,
Although various known types of controllers, such as controllers with D components, can be used to generate the switch-on probability and / or the switchover probability. However, it is preferably provided that the at least one switch-on probability is generated by means of an I controller or a PI controller. The switching probability is preferably generated by means of a P-controller.
According to a further advantageous embodiment variant of the method according to the invention, it is provided that the connection of the battery cells to the battery system for each battery cell can take place either with positive polarity or with negative polarity, wherein for adapting the actual output voltage to the desired output voltage, a positive switch-on probability is generated and the battery cells with the generated positive switch-on probability are connected to the battery system with positive polarity and / or a negative switch-on probability is generated and the battery cells with the generated negative switch-on probability are connected to the battery system with negative polarity. In particular, it is provided that the battery cells are connected in a full-bridge configuration to a battery string of the battery system.
The positive switch-on probability is advantageously the probability that a bridged battery cell with positive polarity should be connected to the battery system.
The negative switch-on probability is advantageously the probability that a bridged cell with negative polarity should be connected to the battery system.
The positive switch-on probability preferably has a positive sign, the negative switch-on probability preferably a negative sign.
To achieve the object mentioned above, a battery system comprising a plurality of electrically interconnected battery cells, a plurality of drive circuits and a control unit for controlling an output voltage of the battery system provided by the battery cells is proposed, wherein the battery cells are each assigned one of the drive circuits and the battery cells can each be connected to the battery system by means of the driving circuits or can be electrically bridged, wherein the battery system is advantageously designed to carry out a method according to the invention.
