The invention relates to a coating composition for producing an electrically conductive layer, wherein the coating composition contains carbon particles, PEDOT: PSS and at least one solvent. According to the invention it is provided that the coating agent contains as solvent glycol and a further organic liquid.
Description
The invention relates to a coating composition having the features according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
The invention has for its object to provide a coating composition which has a particularly good wetting ability when applied to a support, such as a plastic substrate, and can provide electrode layers having a particularly high electrical conductivity and high optical transparency.
This object is achieved by a coating agent having the features according to claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the coating composition according to the invention are specified in subclaims.
Thereafter, the invention provides that the coating agent contains as solvent glycol and another organic liquid. By the use of glycol according to the invention, a surprisingly high wettability of the coating composition is achieved when applied to a support. In addition, the use of glycol as solvent leads to conductive layers with a particularly low electrical resistance.
Another significant advantage of the coating composition according to the invention consists - in contrast to the above-mentioned prior art coating compositions based on PE-DOT: PSS and carbon particles - that for the solubility of the carbon particles and the PEDOT: PSS neither surfactants nor other polymers, especially none non-conductive polymers are necessary. It is thus possible to manage without or with less surfactants and / or without or with less non-conductive polymers than in the case of the previously known coating compositions, which surprisingly achieves considerably smaller film resistances than in the case of the previously known coating compositions.
The proportion of glycol in the coating agent is preferably in a range between 0.1 and 30%.
A particularly good wetting ability of the coating agent is obtained in an advantageous manner when the further organic liquid has a surface tension of at most 50 mN / m.
The molecular electric dipole moment of the further organic liquid is preferably in a range between 3 × 10 -30 C m and 17 × 10 -30 C m.
As a further organic liquid, for example, alcohol, in particular ethanol, 1-propanol or iso-propanol, are used. The proportion by weight of the further organic liquid is preferably in a range between 5% and 15%.
In order to allow a drying or heating of the coating agent in the context of the production of conductive electrode layers at particularly low temperatures, it is considered advantageous if the boiling point of the further organic liquid is at most 100 ° C. Low boiling points are particularly advantageous when electrically conductive electrode layers are to be produced on plastic substrates.
In addition to glycol and the other organic liquid, the coating agent may also comprise water as a solvent. The weight proportion of water in the coating agent is preferably between 60 and 80%.
With respect to the weight fraction of the PEDOT: PSS, a range between 0.7 and 1% is considered particularly advantageous.
Als Kohlenstoffteilchen werden vorzugsweise unmodifizierte Kohlenstoffnanoröhren eingesetzt. Die Kohlenstoffnanoröhren sind vorzugsweise einwändig. The carbon particles used are preferably unmodified carbon nanotubes. The carbon nanotubes are preferably single-walled.
A particularly preferred variant of the coating composition comprises PEDOT: PSS with a weight fraction between 0.7 and 1.0%, ethylene glycol with a weight fraction between 15 and 25%, ethanol with a weight fraction between 5 and 15%, carbon nanotubes with a maximum by weight 5 % and water with a weight percentage between 65 and 75%. With such a composition, optical transmission values of more than 80% can already be achieved with sheet resistances of approximately 100 Ω / □.
With regard to the viscosity, it is considered advantageous if the coating agent is liquid or viscous and forms a coating liquid or a coating paste.
The invention further relates to an electrical component having an on-carrier, electrically conductive layer which has been produced with the above-described coating composition. In other words, the invention also relates to an electrical component having an electrically conductive layer (eg electrode layer) which has the coating agent in the baked or dried state.
The invention further relates to a manufacturing method for producing a coating agent as described above. According to the invention, it is provided in this regard that in the production process carbon particles and PEDOT: PSS are mixed with glycol and a further organic solvent. With regard to the advantages of the production method according to the invention, reference is made to the above statements in connection with the advantages of the coating composition according to the invention.
The invention further relates to a method for producing an electrically conductive layer, wherein in the method a coating agent containing carbon particles, PEDOT: PSS and at least one solvent is applied to a support, the coating agent applied is heated and the solvent as a whole or at least evaporating components of the solvent, and by heating and vaporizing the electrically conductive layer is produced.
According to the invention, it is provided in the latter method that a coating agent is applied which contains glycol as solvent and a further organic liquid.
Vorzugsweise erfolgt das Erhitzen und Verdampfen des Lösungsmittels oder von Bestandteilen des Lösungsmittels bei einer Temperatur von maximal 100°C.Preferably, the heating and evaporation of the solvent or of components of the solvent takes place at a temperature of at most 100 ° C.
The coating of the carrier can take place, for example, in the context of a dip coating, in which the carrier is immersed in a container containing the coating agent. Alternatively, the application of the coating agent can also be carried out as part of a screen printing or spraying process.
Die Erfindung wird nachfolgend anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen näher erläutert; dabei zeigen beispielhaftThe invention will be explained in more detail with reference to embodiments; thereby show by way of example

It can be seen that transmission values of over 80% can be achieved in the entire visible wavelength range, so that the layers can be used as transparent electrode layers in electrical components.
The ratio between the transmission values and the sheet resistances can be adjusted via the proportion by weight of the carbon particles and of the PEDOT: PSS: the smaller the proportion by weight of the carbon particles and of the PEDOT: PSS, the greater the transparency and the layer resistance of the layers. The sheet resistance of the layers behaves approximately inversely proportional to the transparency of the layers.
- – Ethanol mit einem Gewichtsanteil zwischen 5 und 15% (z. B. 10%),
- – Kohlenstoffnanoröhren mit einem Gewichtsanteil von maximal 5% und
- – Wasser mit einem Gewichtsanteil zwischen 65 und 75% (z. B. 70%).
- - PEDOT: PSS weighing between 0,7 and 1,0%,
- Ethylene glycol with a weight fraction between 15 and 25% (eg 20%),
- Ethanol with a weight fraction between 5 and 15% (eg 10%),
- - Carbon nanotubes with a maximum content by weight of 5% and
- - Water with a weight proportion between 65 and 75% (eg 70%).
