Abstract
The invention relates to an anti-theft device for electronic devices, in particular for mobile devices such as notebooks, tablet PCs, smartphones and projectors, but also for more stationary devices such as monitors, printers or desktop PCs. According to the invention, the anti-theft device is integrated into the power connection cable or the power supply unit and parts of the electronic device. Both the function of a wire rope lock and the trigger mechanism for an alarm are integrated: The integration of the function of the wire rope lock, which represents the core of the invention, is carried out through an eyelet attached to the connection line or, if necessary, on the power supply unit, through which the device leading to the device The end of the connecting line can be threaded after it has been looped around an anchorage or an object that is difficult to move. The end of the connecting line leading to the device can then be firmly locked in the device so that the loop around the anchorage or the difficult-to-move object that is represented by the electrical connecting line can no longer be undone and the electronic device can no longer be carried away. The integration of the triggering mechanism for an alarm, which represents an additional safety mechanism, is carried out by monitoring electrical variables and their course at the device connection socket.
Description
The invention relates to an anti-theft device for electronic devices, in particular for mobile devices such as notebooks, tablet PCs, smart phones and projectors, but also for more stationary devices such as monitors, printers or desktop PCs.
Significant are anti-theft devices, especially for laptops and tablet PCs when working in restaurants, trains and libraries, or at seminars and conferences to prevent the device from being stolen during absences.
Steel cable locks are the most commonly used so-called Kensington locks. These are usually steel cables, which have at one end an eyelet and at the other end a T-shaped anchor together with a locking mechanism. The steel cable can thus be looped around a firm anchorage and the T-shaped coupling anchored by a 90-degree turn in a so-called. Kensington slot in the electronic device. This Kensington slot has become standard and can be found on almost all mobile electronic devices. To lock and unlock the 90-degree turn key locks are usually used, such as Bramahschlösser or pin locks, or combination locks. As an alternative to the Kensington slot, there are eyelets glued to the housing by other providers or similar fastening devices by means of which the device can be secured with a steel cable lock.
Steel cable locks have the disadvantage in the mobile sector that they bring additional weight, claim additional space and are often forgotten, because they are carried only in case of need because of the two aforementioned disadvantages.
Alarm systems with motion detectors have the disadvantage that sometimes false alarms are triggered, for example, when a guest in a busy café with a body part accidentally touches the device. Alarm systems may therefore react only after a certain threshold or after a certain delay and thus offer a thief chances to escape unnoticed or fast enough. This is even more so, as an audible alarm generally in noisy environment and against the background of other potentially existing alarm systems, such. As car alarms, may not be assigned fast enough.
The object of the invention is to integrate the two above-mentioned methods of anti-theft device, a steel cable lock and a reliable release mechanism for an alarm in existing components of electronic devices - especially in the power supply or in the power cord.
In addition to the elimination of the above-mentioned disadvantages of the respective method of anti-theft device, it is also an object of the invention to save by integrating costs in the purchase and time in the installation of the anti-theft device and especially to increase the effectiveness of theft protection overall.
The object of the invention is achieved by the anti-theft device described in
The integration of the function of the wire lock, which represents the core of the invention, is carried out by a along the connecting line or possibly on the power supply attached eyelet through which the device leading end of the connecting line can be threaded after it is an anchorage or a difficult to move Subject was looped. The end of the connecting lead leading to the device can then be firmly locked in the device so that the loop represented by the electrical connection line can no longer be released around the anchorage or the object which is difficult to move and the electronic device can no longer be carried away.
The integration of the trigger mechanism for an alarm, which is an additional safeguard, is accomplished by monitoring electrical quantities and their history in the trunk.
