Die erfindungsgemäße Vorgehensweise zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Diagnose mit dem Abschalten der Pumpe beginnt, wobei ein Diagnosestartdruck vorliegt, von dem ausgehend ein Druckabfall aufgrund der weiterlaufenden, nicht weiter beeinflussbaren Dosierung erwartet wird, dass anschließend zumindest ein Maß für den gemessenen Druckabfall überprüft wird und dass bei einer festgestellten Überschreitung wenigstens eines Grenzwerts ein Fehlersignal bereitgestellt wird.
