Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust gas heat exchanger for a motor vehicle according to the features in the preamble of
Exhaust gas heat exchangers are known from the prior art to transfer the exhaust gas to an exhaust aftertreatment unit at a lower temperature or to cool down the exhaust gas in order to supply it again to the combustion process via exhaust gas recirculation. In this case, the exhaust gas is cooled by a temperature of several hundred degrees Celsius, in particular more than 500 ° C, preferably in particular more than 600 ° C and very particularly preferably of more than 700 ° C by up to more than 100 ° C.
On the one hand, the high temperatures and, on the other, the highly corrosive properties have a negative effect on the heat exchanger.
In addition, only limited space conditions are available in particular for exhaust gas heat exchanger for exhaust gas recirculation, so that a total of little path area for the flowing through the exhaust gas heat exchanger exhaust gas available to be cooled accordingly.
It is therefore an object of the present invention, starting from the prior art, to provide an exhaust gas heat exchanger which has an improved cooling property for the exhaust gas flowing through with constant or reduced geometric external dimensions.
The aforementioned object is achieved according to the invention with the features in
Advantageous embodiments of the present invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The exhaust gas heat exchanger according to the invention for a motor vehicle has an outer shell, wherein in the outer shell heat exchanger tubes, in particular as a bundle of heat exchanger tubes are arranged and flows through the heat exchanger tubes, an exhaust gas and is characterized in that the input side and / or output side of the shell a diffuser is arranged, wherein the diffuser is surrounded on the outside by a coolant line, so that the diffuser is cooled by the coolant line. In the context of the invention, the heat exchanger can also be designed as a plate heat exchanger or plate heat exchanger.
In the context of the invention, it is thus initially possible to allow a more efficient flow of the exhaust gas through the exhaust gas heat exchanger due to the diffuser. This makes it possible, due to the respective choice of a flow-optimizing diffuser to lead a larger volume flow through the exhaust gas heat exchanger and to keep the pressure applied by the exhaust gas heat exchanger to the exhaust stream counter pressure with increased heat exchanger performance approximately equal.
Further, it is particularly advantageous in the present invention that the diffuser is also flowed around on its outer circumferential surface of a cooling medium, so that the exhaust gas flowing through the diffuser is already cooled in the diffuser itself. This results in the further advantage that for the choice of material and / or geometric design of the diffuser less thermal influence of the same takes place. Thus, it is not necessary to use high temperature resistant materials, which are also costly. Rather, it can be used on conventional and commercial materials for the production of exhaust gas leading components in the automotive sector. According to the invention, the coolant line is, in particular, the coolant line of the cooling medium to be led through the exhaust gas heat exchanger.
In this way, it is altogether possible according to the invention to significantly increase the heat exchanger capacity with the heat exchanger according to the invention and to keep the production costs, despite the additional expenditure, at a constant installation space. Austenitic or ferritic stainless steel grades are preferably used for the individual component components. Preferably, these are soldered or welded together.
Furthermore, a diffuser on the exhaust gas inlet side is particularly preferably arranged on the shell in the shell or arranged a diffuser on the exhaust gas outlet side of the shell. Consequently, the exhaust gas initially flows from an exhaust gas line through the diffuser on the exhaust gas inlet side and is then directed into the shell or through the heat exchanger tubes in the shell. On the opposite side, it is then optionally or additionally possible, after the exhaust gas has been passed through the heat exchanger tubes, this in turn to pass through a diffuser, wherein it is then exiting the shell.
In particular, the diffuser is formed on the outlet side of the exhaust gas heat exchanger through an inflow funnel, wherein a flange is arranged centrally in the inflow funnel for coupling to an exhaust gas line. The inflow funnel first has a tapered Cross-sectional profile, which has a central outlet hole. Thus, the exhaust gas that has flowed through the heat exchanger tubes is centrally collected by the inflow funnel and then passed through the exit opening into the flange and thus entering the subsequent exhaust line. The flange itself increases its cross-section from the outlet opening abruptly to almost twice the cross-sectional area, whereby the diffuser effect is generated on the exhaust gas outlet side.
According to the invention, the inflow funnel is designed as a single-shell sheet-metal component, wherein the inflow funnel is overlapped by a single-shell cover component and a cooling channel is formed between inflow funnel and cover component. Through the cooling channel, it is thus possible to conduct a coolant. The coolant flowing through the cooling channel thus cools the exhaust gas flowing at the inflow funnel and / or at the flange. The cooling channel itself is in particular a coolant channel for carrying out the cooling medium, which is also used within the exhaust gas heat exchanger for cooling the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust gas heat exchanger.
The cover component then forms the frontal end of the exhaust gas heat exchanger according to the invention, wherein between the cover member and the inflow funnel and / or the flange of the cooling channel is formed.
For this purpose, it is to be regarded as particularly advantageous according to the invention, when the outer circumferential surface of the inflow funnel is almost completely covered by the cooling channel itself. According to the invention, in particular more than 90% of the outer jacket surface, preferably more than 95% of the outer jacket surface of the inflow funnel, is covered by the cooling channel. This means that the inner lateral surface of the cooling channel is, so to speak, the outer circumferential surface of the inflow funnel. Thus, it is ensured that on the one hand by the inflow funnel itself, on the other hand by the downstream flange, a slowed down stagnation of the flowing exhaust gas is generated and thus experiences the exhaust gas at the inflow a corresponding heat transfer into the coolant.
Further preferably, the exhaust gas heat exchanger is rectangular or round configured in cross section, wherein the cooling channel preferably extends end over the entire exhaust gas heat exchanger and the cooling medium flows at an underside in the cooling channel, flows through the cooling channel and at an upper side of the cooling channel into the shell is passed over, so that the cooling medium flows through the diffuser itself, in particular the inflow, the outside substantially in cross flow. For this purpose, in particular, the cooling medium then continues to penetrate radially into the shell itself on an outer circumferential surface of the shell. The embodiment according to the invention thus enables a maximization of the geometrically existing surface for the passage of the cooling medium or for the overflow of the cooling medium of the outer lateral surface of the inflow funnel.
The above-described coolant path from bottom to top is in the context of the invention also reversible and thus feasible from top to bottom. As a significant advantage, however, it can be seen when the coolant flow extends along the longer side of the rectangular cross-section. In the context of the invention, however, it is also possible that the coolant flow itself takes place along the shorter side of the rectangle.
Furthermore, in the context of the invention, the cover component itself is also preferably designed as a single-shell sheet metal component, wherein the cover component and / or the inflow funnel and / or the envelope are cohesively coupled to one another. This makes it possible to produce all the components as a single-shell sheet metal component, in particular as forming components and / or thermoforming components, then position-locking to position each other and produce a fluid-tight coupling by the cohesive bond. As a result, in particular the production costs decrease compared to cast components known from the prior art. In the context of the invention is to be understood by cohesive coupling in particular a soldering. However, the individual components can also be welded together within the scope of the invention. Corresponding components are coupled to each other in particular by incorporation of the previously described flange.
To further increase the efficiency of the heat transfer, it is also possible that are arranged on the outer surface of the inflow heat exchanger fins in order to increase the surface available for the heat transfer surface further.
Described before is the exhaust gas heat exchanger, in particular on the exhaust gas outlet side with a corresponding inflow funnel. However, according to the invention it is also conceivable and possible for a corresponding diffuser to be arranged on the exhaust gas inlet side. In particular, this is designed such that it is provided coming from an exhaust pipe as a discharge funnel, wherein the discharge funnel is then coupled to the shell. Correspondingly prescribed advantages are used analogously.
In the context of the invention, the coolant then initially enters from the exhaust gas outlet side and flows through the diffuser at the exhaust gas outlet side into the shell, and flows around the heat exchanger tubes on the outside. The exhaust gas heat exchanger then operates in the shell, surrounding the heat exchanger tubes, according to the countercurrent principle. At the exhaust gas inlet side, it is then possible for the cooling medium, before it finally exits the heat exchanger, first to flow through the diffuser at the exhaust gas inlet side in order to likewise increase the heat exchanger performance here. A reverse flow of the cooling medium, thus from the inlet side to the outlet side, is likewise possible within the scope of the invention.
