Es können Herstell-, Montage- und/oder Materialkosten, sowie ein Gewicht eingespart werden, wodurch Kosten der Motorölpumpe reduziert werden können. Das Lager ist vorzugsweise als ein Lagerdeckel ausgebildet, welches zumindest das Pumpgehäuse schwimmend lagert. Unter einem „Lagerdeckel” soll insbesondere ein Lager verstanden werden, das zusätzlich zur der Lagerfunktion eine Deckelfunktion und/oder Dichtfunktion aufweist, wodurch das Lager vorzugsweise einen Hohlraum des Pumpgehäuses zumindest teilweise und zumindest in eine Richtung dichtend begrenzt und/oder abschließt. Unter „schwimmend verbunden” soll insbesondere eine Verbindung verstanden werden, durch die sich das Pumpgehäuse relativ zum Lager, insbesondere axial, bewegen kann und damit ein Spiel aufweist.
