Neben Nockenwellensteuerungen, elektromagnetischen Ventilsteuerungen werden auch elektrohydraulische Ventilsteuerungen eingesetzt. Elektrohydraulische Ventilsteuerungen bieten die Möglichkeit einer teilvariablen bzw. vollvariablen Ventilsteuerung, so dass eine Optimierung des Gaswechsels und somit eine Steigerung des motorischen Wirkungsgrades bei unterschiedlichen motorischen Anforderungen einer Brennkraftmaschine möglich ist. Der mechanische Aufwand ist jedoch so hoch, dass bisher keine Entwicklung in die Serie gekommen ist.In addition to camshaft controls, electromagnetic valve controls and electro-hydraulic valve controls are used. Auch ein möglichst weiches Aufsitzen des Ventiltellers auf den Ventilsitzring und daraus resultierende längere Standzeiten bei gleichzeitig geringerer Geräuschentwicklung sind nach wie vor Entwicklungsziele. Weitere Entwicklungsziele sind hohe Standzeiten, ein geringer Bauteileaufwand und möglichst günstige wirtschaftliche Gesamtkosten.To achieve optimal gas exchange, high switching speeds of the actuator are necessary.
