Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a coolant circuit of a vehicle, wherein the coolant circuit each comprises at least one heat source, a heat sink and a coolant delivery device for the at least temporary circulation of coolant between the heat source and the heat sink.
Such coolant circuits are used in vehicle construction for tempering, in particular for cooling, components which heat during operation of the vehicle, in particular an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, an energy store, power electronics or a transmission. Coolant flows through the components to be cooled by a coolant pump circulating the coolant present in the coolant circuit between a heat sink, in particular a heat exchanger, and the components to be cooled. Possibly located in the coolant gas bubbles are passed through a vent circuit to a surge tank.
The disadvantage of the coolant circuit with air separator shown is that it must be ensured with a steadily increasing installation of the coolant lines that gas bubbles pass from the components to be cooled to the air separator. Due to increasingly complex space requirements, this is not always readily possible.
Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a coolant circuit for a vehicle, which ensures a simple way, a safe venting of unfavorable components of the coolant circuit.
This object is solved by the features of
A vehicle with a coolant circuit according to the invention is claimed in
Coolant circuit of a vehicle, wherein the coolant circuit comprises at least one heat source, a heat sink and a coolant conveyor for at least temporary circulation of coolant between the heat source and the heat sink, wherein the coolant circuit has a Venturi nozzle whose vacuum range via a vent line with the at least one heat source or heat sink is connected and wherein the Venturi nozzle is arranged upstream of a geodetically higher branching point at which gas bubbles can be deposited to a surge tank.
By the coolant flows through the Venturi nozzle - a local constriction of the coolant circuit - it comes at this bottleneck due to the increased flow velocity to a negative pressure, which leads to a suction effect in the connected vent line. As a result, the gas bubbles are actively sucked from the heat source or heat sink connected to the vent line in the Venturi nozzle. The gas bubbles then rise in the coolant circuit to the geodetically higher branching point, where they are separated and reach a surge tank. The branching point is T-shaped, so that the less dense gas bubbles can not follow the deflection of the coolant and continue to ascend to the even higher reservoir. Thus, a simple active extraction of the gas bubbles from an otherwise difficult to vent heat source or heat sink is possible without the need for externally powered pumps must be used. The suction effect results solely from the coolant flow in the coolant circuit. As a source of heat, inter alia, internal combustion engines, electric power machines, transmissions, electrical energy storage or inverter in question. Heat sinks are usually formed by all different types of heat exchangers, in particular air-refrigerant heat exchangers. Electromotive or belt-driven coolant pumps are suitable as a coolant delivery device. In a preferred embodiment, the coolant delivery device is arranged downstream of the branching point.
In a preferred embodiment, the vent line opens at the geodetically highest point in the heat source. Since most of the gas bubbles will collect there usually, the works Extraction by the venturi at this point is particularly efficient.
Further details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of a preferred embodiment with reference to the drawings.
