Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for the energetic use of fuel gases, which are present at a pressure of up to 2 bar or incurred.
As such fuel gases, for example, biogas, metallurgical gas or the like would be mentioned. Biogas and smelting gases are often used in the immediate vicinity of their production, since these gases are produced at a relatively low pressure level and must be relatively high compressed and processed for storage and / or feeding into a gas network. The compression or treatment of gas for storage and / or feeding into a gas network requires compressor power, which is at the expense of the efficiency of the energetic implementation.
Basically, a feed of biogas into the natural gas network is known. Frequently, however, biomethane treated biogas such as natural gas, used as fuel or used in cogeneration units. In particular, the use of waste heat from combined heat and power plants is particularly advantageous with regard to a balanced CO 2 balance.
Also, the liquefaction of biogas is known, which is generated locally in agricultural biogas plants.
In the decentralized generation of biogas, the preferred form of sales is currently direct generation by means of a combined heat and power plant. A storage of biogas is operated only to a relatively small extent. For storage usually double-membrane and tube storage are used. Double diaphragm accumulators are only under minimal pressure, so that only relatively small amounts of gas can be stored. Tube storage are operated with pressures up to 200 bar, but the efficiency of energy production decreases because of the required compressor power and the required effort for the gas treatment. especially in biogas, a high proportion of carbon dioxide is contained, through which the efficiency of the known memory is further reduced. A separation of carbon dioxide is relatively energy-consuming.
Due to a growing share of so-called volatile energy from solar power generation or from wind turbines, the forms of energy biogas / solar energy / wind energy are increasingly competing with each other. Since the introduction of volatile forms of energy should take precedence, it is sometimes necessary to store or otherwise use biogas.
The invention has for its object to provide a method for the energetic use of fuel gases, which avoids the disadvantages described above and in particular allows a more flexible use of the fuel gas.
The object underlying the invention is achieved by a method for the energetic use of fuel gases, which are present at a pressure of up to 2 bar or incurred, comprising the production of gas hydrate using the fuel gas, the storage of the fuel gas in the form of gas hydrate, the Re-gasification of the gas hydrate and the energetic conversion of the fuel gas for the purpose of electricity and / or heat generation.
The production of gas hydrate offers the possibility to provide an efficient low-pressure accumulator for large volumes of gas in the smallest space. It is possible, for example, without much energy expenditure, to dissolve methane in water at pressures around 20 bar and temperatures around the freezing point. The resulting methane hydrate is a very efficient storage for methane. 1 m 3 of hydrate comprises about 164 m 3 of methane and 0.8 m 3 of water.
Das Stoff/Mengen-Verhältnis Gas/Wasser beträgt zwischen 6 und 8:48.Such gas hydrates are also referred to as clathrates, for example. These are inclusion compounds of two substances in which a guest molecule is incorporated in a lattice or cage of a host molecule. Inclusion compounds of gaseous substances in water are also referred to as gas hydrates. The substance / volume ratio gas / water is between 6 and 8:48.
In a particularly preferred variant of the method according to the invention, the production of methane hydrate from biogas is provided.
The method may include, for example, piecing the gas hydrate in the form of ingots or pellets, which are then stored in a suitable insulated container or sealed ice chamber. Such methane hydrates / gas hydrates are quite stable, as a rule, at atmospheric pressure and relatively low temperatures, as prevalent for example in ice cell storage conditions. A regasification can be done for example by slight warming of the gas hydrate.
In a preferred variant of the method according to the invention, this comprises the production of gas hydrate by compression, expansion and mixing of the fuel gas with water at low temperatures in at least one reactor.
For example, it can be provided that the fuel gas at temperatures around the freezing point and injected under pressure into a reactor while mixing it with water.
In order to initiate and / or accelerate the formation of hydrate, it may be provided to additionally introduce seed crystals into the reactor as nucleation nuclei.
When biogas is to be converted into methane hydrate, the biogas is preferably desulphurised prior to its conversion to a hydrate.
In a particularly preferred variant of the method according to the invention, it is provided to control the temperature of the fuel gas in the gas hydrate production via a pressure relief. This means, for example, that the gas is first compressed and vented via nozzles of the reactor so that a temperature drop is generated by the pressure relief of the gas mixture such that this favors or initiates methane hydrate / gas hydrate formation.
In an expedient variant of the method according to the invention, it is provided that the fuel gas is reacted after regasification of the methane hydrate in at least one gas engine or a gas turbine.
Apart from the fact that energy can be stored with the method according to the invention in a particularly advantageous manner, if, for example, the power supply of electricity from volatile energy sources is given priority, can also be provided according to the invention, the production of gas hydrate using electricity from renewable energy or from volatile energy sources. For example, using regenerative electricity, synthetic CH 4 can first be produced, or biomethane gas can be made into CH 4 using regeneratively generated electricity and then stored as gas hydrate.
The object underlying the invention is further achieved by a method for operating a power plant with at least one gas engine and / or at least one gas turbine, at least one wind power generator and / or at least one solar power generator, with at least one gas hydrate reactor for generating gas hydrate and at least one gas hydrate store comprising the production of gas hydrate by means of wind and / or solar power, the generation and storage of gas hydrate, especially at low load times, as well as the gasification of the gas hydrate and the energetic conversion of the recirculated fuel gas, especially at peak load times and / or in the absence of wind and / or solar power.
The object underlying the invention is finally achieved by a gas power plant, comprising at least one gas engine and / or a gas turbine, at least one device for generating gas hydrate, at least one storage for gas hydrate and at least one device for recycle gas hydrate.
The gasification of gas hydrate can be carried out, for example, in a corresponding reaction space / reaction vessel with slight warming. The reaction vessel is expediently hermetically sealed and can be tapped by means of a valve or a valve arrangement. A heating of the gas hydrate within the container results in a pressure increase, the gas under overpressure can be energetically converted, for example, in a gas turbine or a gas engine.
As a device for the production of gas hydrate, at least one reactor is expediently provided with means for expanding gas in an aqueous solution.
For example, the gas power plant may include at least one storage space or storage reservoir for gas hydrate.
As a storage container, an ice cellar may be provided, which is provided for example with a gas-tight lining or casing.
The invention addresses the storage problem of fuel gas under relatively low pressure, for example of biogas or metallurgical gas or possibly also natural gas, by the production of gas hydrate and its storage in a corresponding storage container or storage space. As a result, the high space requirement of a low-pressure storage both as well as a correspondingly high energy consumption is avoided in pressure storage.
As far as the invention comprises the production of methane hydrate from raw biogas, it is provided that the raw biogas is first desulfurized. The desulfurized raw biogas still contains significant amounts of carbon dioxide. Methane and carbon dioxide remain in mixture. This mixture is fed to a Methanhydrattransformer or methane hydrate reactor under pressure at temperatures around the freezing point, wherein the gas is forced through nozzles and finely dispersed mixed with water. In this process, methane hydrate forms and carbon dioxide goes into solution. By controlling the pressure relief of the gas mixture, a temperature control is achieved, which allows the control of hydrate formation. Subsequently, the methane hydrate is mechanically conveyed by a movable sieve or a filter cloth into a collecting container and formed from there, for example by means of a suitable press in ingots or pellets. Alternatively, it is filled at low solids (pulpy) consistency in suitable containers. The water is circulated to deplete the carbon dioxide and pumped from a pressurized part of the system via a heat exchanger in a non-pressurized container to excrete CO 2 there. Subsequently, the water can be re-introduced into the circulation.
The Hydratmasse prepared in this way, for example in the form of hydrate pellets or Hydratbarren be placed in an insulated room with a gas-tight envelope. Such a space may be provided, for example, in the form of a known per se ice cellar without additional cooling. Due to a slow heating and pressure reduction outgasing methane gas is optionally withdrawn via a valve and fed to a power generation process in a combined heat and power plant. The energy requirement of a methane hydrate transformer / methane hydrate reactor can be covered, for example, by solar power or wind power.
For example, an ice cellar measuring 4 × 8 × 2 m can store 64 m 3 of hydrate and thus the equivalent of about 10,000 m 3 of gas.
For a systematic regasification of the methane hydrate, the desired amount of hydrate is introduced with a normal transport device in an easily heatable boiler, wherein the gas is expelled by heating. In addition to a temperature increase, for example, a pressure reduction and a mechanical treatment of the hydrate can be used for regasification. For example, the methane hydrate can be further comminuted in a crusher, whereby the Ausgasungsprozess is accelerated. In a doughy to pasty consistency of methane hydrate this can be mixed in a stirrer. The remaining water can then be returned to the process.
