Die Brennkraftmaschine umfasst einen schaltbaren, motorseitigen Nebenabtrieb zum Antreiben mindestens eines Nebenaggregats, wobei der Nebenabtrieb über eine Kupplung an die Kurbelwelle ankoppelbar und von derselben abkoppelbar ist. Vielmehr greift an der Kurbelwelle ausschließlich eine Kupplung an, über die an die Kurbelwelle mindestens ein Nebenaggregat koppelbar ist. Die der Kurbelwelle zugeordnete Riemenscheibe, die über die Kupplung an die Kurbelwelle ankoppelbar ist, dient einerseits der Ankopplung des oder jedes Nebenaggregats über den ersten Riementrieb an die Kurbelwelle und andererseits der Ankopplung des Startergenerators über den zweiten Riementrieb an die Kurbelwelle. Bei geöffneter Kupplung sind das oder jedes Nebenaggregat sowie der Startergenerator von der Kurbelwelle abgekoppelt, sodass bei stillstehender Brennkraftmaschine das oder jedes Nebenaggregat ausgehend vom Startergenerator elektrisch angetrieben werden kann. Bei geschlossener Kupplung sind sowohl der Startergenerator als auch das oder jedes Nebenaggregat an die Kurbelwelle angekoppelt. Eine solche Lösung ist konstruktiv einfach und bevorzugt. Obwohl kein Getriebe vorhanden ist, kann dennoch eine Standabkopplung zum Betrieb des oder jedes Nebenaggregats bei stillstehender Brennkraftmaschine bereitgestellt werden. Eine solche Lösung ist zuverlässig und konstruktiv einfach.
