Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an aqueous forming lubricant composition, in particular for the cold forming of metallic parts, as well as a process for the production thereof, a process for coating metal parts to be formed and a process for forming metallic parts using the composition according to the invention.
By forming in particular metals, but also thermoplastics, plastically brought into a different form. A distinction is made between cold and hot forming. During cold forming, the deformation takes place below the recrystallization temperature of the material used, in the hot forming, however, there is regularly recrystallization of the material, which counteracts a solidification of the same. There are various types of forming such as pressure forming, tension forming, tensile forming, bending, shear forming and possibly also other forming processes. The forming takes place, for example, by rolling, free-forming, including swaging and driving, impressions, compression, deep-drawing, bending, and the like.
In order to reduce the friction as well as the forces to be used during forming, a wide variety of types of lubricants are used. In the cold forming, in particular, two types of lubricants are used, namely on the one hand, those which are liquid, and others, as such, which form a solid film on the parts to be formed. The disadvantage of the liquid lubricant is especially in the problem of processing, be it by film formation on floors, for example, whereby the risk of accidents is increased, be it by other contaminants of the immediate environment of the forming. In addition, there are basically problems with regard to the uniformity of the transformations, since the coating carried out by liquid lubricants is in motion during the forming process.
These problems of liquid lubricants are not exhibited by those which form a solid film on the parts to be formed. However, as a rule, the corresponding lubricants have previously been dissolved in a solvent, for example water, the parts to be formed are subsequently treated with the solution and subsequently dried, which prolongs the processing time. The disadvantage of such solid lubricants, which are dissolved in particular in water, is in particular that their application is limited, which is due in particular to insufficient fluidity of the lubricant film formed on the part to be formed in the forming process, resulting in errors in the transformation or even damage the to be used tools of the forming device. In addition, with aqueous lubricants in the forming, in particular cold forming, in principle the problem that the most uniform film of the lubricant on the part to be formed must be produced, but this must not have too large thickness at the same time.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an aqueous forming lubricant composition, in particular for the cold forming of metallic parts, which eliminates the disadvantages known from the prior art, as well as a manufacturing method and a coating method based on this composition and a forming process Use of such a composition.
- – etwa 15 Gew.-% bis etwa 38 Gew.-%, bevorzugt etwa 17 Gew.-% bis etwa 35 Gew.-% mindestens eines Polyalkylenglykols oder eines Polyalkylenglykolderivates, wobei das Polyalkylenglykol ein mittleres Molekulargewicht in einem Bereich von etwa 10.000 bis 45.000, bevorzugt etwa 21.000 bis etwa 38.000, aufweist;
- – etwa 55 Gew.-% bis etwa 85 Gew.-% Wasser;
- From about 15% to about 38%, preferably from about 17% to about 35%, by weight of at least one polyalkylene glycol or polyalkylene glycol derivative, wherein the polyalkylene glycol has an average molecular weight in a range of about 10,000 to 45,000 , preferably from about 21,000 to about 38,000;
- From about 55% to about 85% by weight of water;
Advantageously, the polyalkylene glycol or the polyalkylene glycol derivative is selected from a group comprising polyethylene glycols, polypropylene glycols and / or their derivatives, particular preference being given to polyethylene glycols or polyethylene glycol derivatives having an average molecular weight in a range from about 21,000 to about 38,000, more preferably from about 24,000 to about 36,000 Preferably, polyethylene glycol fatty acid ester derivatives are preferred, more preferably those which have at least one unsaturated double bond in the fatty acid radical, more preferably polyethylene glycol monoeleates.
If parts to be formed, in particular metallic parts, are treated with the aqueous forming lubricant composition according to the invention and subsequently almost completely or completely evaporated off before the water components are formed, a uniform, firm and rather dry film remains on the parts to be formed, owing to the specific selection of the molecular weight range the polyalkylene glycols or polyalkylene glycol derivatives to be used has a thickness which is sufficient but not too strong for most of the cold forming processes. In addition, after reshaping, any residues of the forming lubricant composition that are present can be easily removed by aqueous solutions, in particular by water. Preferably, distilled water is used in the forming lubricant composition according to the invention, as well as in the removal of residues of the composition according to the invention after the forming process.
The polyalkylene glycols and / or polyalkylene glycol derivatives used have the general formula HO - [- R 1 -OR 2 -O] n -H or R 3 O - [- R 1 -OR 2 -O] n -H, but can also be used as Block polymers having the general formula HO - (- R 1 -O-) x - (- R 2 -O) y -H and R 3 O - (- R 1 -O-) x - (- R 2 -O) x -H be trained. Examples of these are polyethylene glycols with R 1 = R 2 = (CH 2 ) 2 , polypropylene glycols with R 1 = R 2 = CH 2 -CH (CH 3 ) or polytetramethylene glycols with R 1 = R 2 = (CH 2 ) 4 , and the addressed block polymers may be in particular mixtures of the above-mentioned radicals R 1 and R 2 . In the derivatives, the radical R 3 may be an alkyl radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, but may also be a fatty acid ester having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, also partially unsaturated, preferably having at least one carbon-carbon double bond.

Subsequently, the other additives were added with stirring, wherein in the mixtures B and D, the fatty acid and the humectant before addition to each other homogeneously mixed and then placed only the aqueous mixture, and then the alkali hydroxide was added with stirring over 30 minutes. Mixtures A to D were then cross-toothed on a colloid mill, and filled all mixtures A to D through a filter with a mesh size of 15 microns in a reservoir. For blend C, after preparing blend B and before filtering, the flow control agent was added.
In this case, a comparative composition was used, the main components 35.5 wt .-% methyl oleate, 25 wt .-% di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid ester, 15.0 wt .-% of a sulfurized fatty acid ester (Additin RC 2818, RheinChemie) and 10% by weight of an ethoxylated soybean fatty amine at a water content of about 2.0% by weight, as well as constituents of a use agent and moisturizer.
The force-displacement diagrams obtained by the DCET for the total of seven samples showed a reduced punch force of about 10 kN compared to the comparison mixture and well depth ratios always not greater than 1.8 for all seven samples in the mixture A, whereas those at of the Comparison mixture between 1.7 and 3.3 layers. The temperatures of the workpieces were approximately comparable for the mixture A and the comparison mixture.
In addition, monobloc shafts with stepped toothing were cold formed using the mixture D as well as the comparative mixture described above. The waves used had a total length of 45.2 cm and a diameter of up to 29.6 mm. The specimens were made of the 25CrMo4 material, coated by dipping with the D mixture and the comparative mixture, and subsequently dipped in the D mixture, the water portion was heat-evaporated until a dry, grim-resistant coating had formed on the specimen. The thus coated specimen was fed to the forming machine, and thereby recorded force-displacement diagrams. It turns out that with the mixture D a reduction of the forming force by about 15 kN was achieved compared to the comparison mixture.
