Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to aqueous alkyd or polyester resin dispersions which are prepared and stabilized using fatty acid polyglycerol esters and to their use for aqueous alkyd resin paints.

The emulsifiers available in the prior art contain amphiphilic structures of hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups. Fatty acid or fatty alcohol radicals are selected as hydrophobic groups and polyglycol ether groups from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide units as the hydrophilic group.

To the pigment dispersion, the aqueous alkyd resin dispersion from Examples 1 to 4 is added with slow stirring (component 7) and then the remaining components 8 to 10 are added. Stability tests were carried out on the resulting aqueous alkyd resin lacquers and paint spreads were spread on Leneta paper with a 120 μm doctor blade.
