Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a metering module for an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of a motor vehicle, having at least one metering valve, the valve tip is obtained in a housing attachable to a flange of an exhaust pipe, wherein between the housing and the flange at least one thermally insulating insulating device is arranged.
Stand der TechnikState of the art
Dosing modules of the type mentioned are known from the prior art. In motor vehicles, they are often used in exhaust aftertreatment systems to mix liquid exhaust aftertreatment agent with an exhaust before it flows, for example, into a catalyst. For this purpose, such metering modules have at least one metering valve, by means of which the amount of exhaust gas aftertreatment agent delivered into the exhaust gas can be adjusted or metered. As a rule, the metering valve is held at least with its valve tip in a housing which can be fastened to an exhaust gas pipe leading to the exhaust gas aftertreatment agent. The housing thus serves, among other things, the alignment and locking of the metering valve on the exhaust pipe.
Aus der Offenlegungsschrift
Offenbarung der ErfindungDisclosure of the invention
According to the invention, at least one thermally insulating insulating element is arranged between the valve tip and the housing. The insulating element can serve both for holding and for guiding the metering valve in the housing, while providing said thermal insulation. The insulating element decouples direct heat conduction from the housing to the valve tip. This prevents the advantage of the insulating device being diminished by the fact that heat radiated from the exhaust pipe passes from the outside via the housing into the metering valve. For dosing provided for cooling can thus be reduced or even eliminated altogether. In the simplest case, the insulating element is designed as a cavity between the valve tip and the housing. For this purpose, the housing is expediently designed such that it forms a separate from the exhaust pipe cavity in the region of the valve tip. Conveniently, the housing is not in direct physical contact with the valve tip. Instead, a narrow air gap is advantageously provided, which serves for further decoupling of the housing to the metering valve.
Advantageously, the insulating element is designed as a retaining bush made of thermally stable and insulating material, for example as a Teflon retaining bush. The retaining bush is advantageously characterized essentially by a cylindrical design in the manner of a hollow shaft, wherein the shell outer surface preferably rests against the inside of the housing and is held there, and the shell inner surface cooperates with the outer surface of the valve tip. Due to the insulating device designed as, for example, Teflon retaining bush retaining sleeve is protected from excessive temperature effects that could lead to damage to the material and the release of toxic substances. The Teflon also offers a very low thermal conductivity, which leads to a good thermal insulation of the metering valve to the housing.
Furthermore, it is advantageously provided that the insulating device is formed as a cavity. This is to be understood as meaning a space that is separated from the exhaust pipe, so that there is no exhaust gas in the cavity, but-if at all-ambient air. As a result, the direct heat transfer or heat conduction is interrupted by the exhaust gas or the exhaust pipe to the metering valve and ensures efficient thermal insulation. Due to the upstream, designed as a cavity insulating the retaining sleeve is effectively protected from excessive temperatures.
Advantageously, the cavity is formed by one of the housing-bearing intermediate element. The housing is thus fastened by means of the intermediate element to the flange of the exhaust pipe. In this case, the intermediate element is designed such that it has the cavity or at least partially forms. Thus, it can be ensured that the hitherto provided housing of the dosing module continues to be used, while the special insulating device is added by the intermediate element. As a result, the production can be made easier and more cost effective. Conveniently, the intermediate element can be fastened both to the housing and to the flange.
Preferably, the cavity between the intermediate element and the housing is formed. This means that the intermediate element only forms an area or section defining the cavity, while the remaining section is formed by the housing itself. As a result, the formation of the intermediate element can be made particularly simple and inexpensive.
Expediently, the intermediate element is designed as a so-called hollow rib. For this purpose, the intermediate element extends laterally far beyond the housing of the dosing and thereby simultaneously forms a rib, which contributes to the cooling of the metering due to their large surface area.
Furthermore, it is provided that the intermediate element is at least substantially disc-shaped. Thus, it is conceivable to form the intermediate element as a deep drawing element, which is formed by a deep-drawing process of a disc-shaped planar base element. Optionally, the intermediate element thereby also a certain inherent elasticity be added, which makes at least partially flexible connection from the otherwise rigid connection of the dosing on the exhaust pipe, for example, to compensate for manufacturing tolerances or to extend the shelf life during operation.
It is further provided that the intermediate element has an opening in which the valve tip in particular rests without contact with a small air gap for the purpose of thermal insulation. The valve tip thus extends through the intermediate element. By providing corresponding gap dimensions or corresponding sealing means, a sealing connection between the valve tip and the opening or the intermediate element can be ensured, which contributes to the separation of the cavity from the exhaust gas flowing through the exhaust pipe. The breakthrough forms a thermal shield against the hot exhaust gas against the valve tip. In this case, the intermediate element can be designed such that the opening is located in the interior of the housing of the metering module, or is upstream of the metering module when the valve tip protrudes beyond the housing of the metering module. The cavity advantageously continues within the housing at least in regions, so that the valve tip of the metering valve is at least partially surrounded by ambient air within the housing in order to further reduce heat input into the metering valve. In particular, a lateral heat input into the metering valve is thereby reduced.
According to an advantageous development of the metering module, it is provided that the intermediate element has rear engagement means for the flange and / or the housing, which are preferably designed as lockable rear engagement means. The rear grip means allow a positive connection between the intermediate element and the flange or the housing, whereby a secure hold of the metering module to the flange of the exhaust pipe can be ensured. By training as lockable rear grip means, for example by providing corresponding locking lugs or locking edges, the dosing can be particularly easily attached to the housing. Optionally, the attachment can be supplemented by additional screw or clamping means to increase the holding force and, where appropriate, the tightness of the system.
Finally, it is provided that one or more cooling fins are arranged on the housing. The cooling fins can be formed integrally with the housing or as separate components and serve to cool the metering module. As a result, the durability of the metering module can be further increased.
Overall, therefore, a metering module is required, which increases the durability of the metering valve in a simple manner by a particularly efficient thermal insulation of the metering valve is formed to the exhaust pipe. The liquid exhaust aftertreatment agent, which is to be added by means of the metering valve to the exhaust, thereby supporting the cooling of the metering valve. The otherwise provided injection processes, which are only used for cooling the metering valve, can be reduced due to the advantageous design of the metering or even completely eliminated.
