Erwartet und unterstützt wird die Errichtung von vielen großen Windenergieanlagen, die einen großen Anteil des Stromes für Deutschland erzeugen sollen. Werden die Ausbaupläne der Bundesregierung umgesetzt, sind zukünftig mehr als 100 000 Personenüberstiege auf Offshore-Windenergieanlagen pro Jahr in der deutschen Nord- und Ostsee notwendig.
