Description
The invention relates to a method for determining the size and position of an imbalance of a rotating body, wherein the body having an imbalance is set in rotary motion and during the rotational movement of the body by the imbalance-induced vibrations and the rotational frequency of the body measured, the measurement results containing measuring signals generated and signal processing.
In order to determine an imbalance present in a rotatable body, the body is generally stored in a balancing machine and rotated. The unbalance of the rotating body generates vibrations that are detected by vibration sensors, which are arranged on the bearings of the balancing machine. In addition, at the same time the rotational frequency of the rotating body for a certain reference point is detected by a rotational frequency sensor. The vibration signals and the rotational frequency signal are processed by a signal processing computer, which calculates the amount and location of the imbalance therefrom. The accurate and rapid calculation of existing in the rotating body imbalance is in practice, however, considerable difficulties, because the detected vibration signal in addition to the vibrations caused by the imbalance contains a number of other vibrations such as harmonics and due to the design of the balancing machine disturbing vibrations that sought falsify signal dependent on the existing imbalance. Therefore, special selection processes are required in order to filter out the vibration signal actually sought from the detected vibration mixture. Well-known selection methods are, for example, the Fourier analysis, the wattmeter, Hall generators, the phase-sensitive rectification or RC filters. Some of the known methods, such as the wattmeter, have proven themselves in practice. However, the accuracy of these methods is not satisfactory for some requirements.

The invention has for its object to provide a method of the type mentioned above, which can determine the size and location of the imbalance with greater accuracy without much effort on measurement time or which allows for previously achievable accuracy shortening the measurement time.
The object is achieved by the method specified in
- a) estimation of the power density spectrum of the measurement signals,
- b) estimating the power density spectrum of the noise component of the measurement signals and forming an estimated covariance matrix Q of the noise component based on the power density spectrum Ĉ νν (ω k ) of the noise component,
- c) Estimation of the complex amplitude using the estimated covariance matrix Q of the noise component and an APES algorithm according to the following formula: and ψ (n) is the angle of rotation at time t n .
The method according to the invention allows compared to the known methods with the same amount of time a much more accurate determination of the unbalance parameters. The processing time required for signal processing is, for. B. when using a standard personal computer, well below the time required for data acquisition and therefore does not affect the time required for the implementation of the method. The method is therefore mathematically feasible as a real-time application.
According to another proposal of the invention, the power density spectrum of the measurement signals may be estimated using a periodogram and the power density spectrum of the noise component estimated by smoothing the estimated spectrum of the measurement data. For smoothing, the median function can be used as a smoothing function. The median function or a median filter ignores sinusoidal peaks and produces a smoothed power density spectrum that is a good approximation to the power density spectrum of the noise component.
In the method according to the invention, the estimation of the power density spectrum of the measurement signals or of the noise component is preferably carried out in the frequency domain. As a result, the periodogram becomes flatter, the effect of colored noise is better eliminated and the superimposed sinusoids remain intact. The determination of the superimposed sinusoidal curves also takes place in the frequency domain, so that a conversion of the time domain into the frequency domain is not necessary for this purpose.
According to a further proposal of the invention, the estimation calculation is carried out recursively with successive blocks of measurement signals in such a way that the estimation accuracy increases, but the computational complexity remains constant. Preferably, for the recursive estimation calculation, the respective previous data block, the respective previous, estimated power density spectrum of the noise component and the respective previous result of the estimation calculation are stored and included in the following calculation step.
The estimation of the parameters of the noise component of the measurement signals can be carried out according to the invention in two different ways. A first possibility is a continuous adaptive estimation of the noise component based on the measurement signals. This procedure requires no pre-measurement of the machine properties. The second option is a procedure that uses certain system parameters in advance. Here, the noise estimation process is executed in advance based on training measurement data measured during a training run, and the estimated noise parameters remain unchanged during the subsequent recursive estimation process. It has been found that the second approach compared to the adaptive approach has a lower computational complexity and provides a more accurate estimate, but requires an additional measurement phase for the prediction of the system parameters. It has also been found that the precalculation phase was only needed once for each machine and therefore can take place, for example, during the already-ongoing calibration phase of machine operation.
Another advantage is an embodiment of the method according to the invention, in which the phase of the vibration induced by the unbalance is in each case after one full revolution of the body, for example optically, and the instantaneous phase between the times of a full revolution is estimated by linear interpolation. By doing so, a better approximation to the actual instantaneous phase of the oscillation is achieved than with the known method underlying assumption of a constant rotational frequency. The estimated instantaneous phase is then included with each application of the APES algorithm.
Es zeigenThe method according to the invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to an application example shown schematically in the drawing. Show it
The problem solved by the method according to the invention is the accurate estimation of the amount and location of the imbalance in a rotating object. The physical law to be considered is that the presence of an imbalance in a vibration of a rotating object results in relation to its axis of rotation. The amplitude and phase of the vibration at a rotational frequency provide information about the amount of imbalance and its location relative to a reference point. Therefore, by measuring the vibration signal and the rotational frequency of a rotating body, the unbalance parameters can be estimated.

By suitable modeling of the disturbance term i (t), an estimator can be applied that provides better estimation accuracy compared to known methods. It is an algorithm called Amplitude and Phase Estimator (APES) based on two main estimation steps. In the first step, the power density spectrum of the measurement noise process is estimated. The second step is the estimation of the amplitude and phase parameters using the noise parameters estimated in the first step. The APES algorithm is summarized in Table 1. It should be noted that the implementation given in Table 1 assumes that all measurement data is present simultaneously to estimate the complex amplitude.
The following describes a recursive application of APES in which data is processed recursively in blocks in such a way that the accuracy of the estimation algorithm increases over time, but the computational complexity remains constant.
In experiments with predicted noise estimation, it was found that the noise spectrum for a given machine did not change significantly for different measurement frequencies or imbalances. Herein lies an advantage that argues for the application of the method with precalculation, since the noise parameters, once they have been calculated once, for example during the calibration, can be used for all subsequent measurements. The precalculation approach also has the advantage that one can use an arbitrarily large amount of data to estimate the noise spectrum, while the adaptive noise estimate has a frequency resolution limited by the recursive block length.
The calculation time in the application of the estimation method according to the invention is an important factor, which depends mainly on the selected processing block length. Due to the matrix multiplication required in the estimation step, the computational complexity increases approximately in square with the block length. In adaptive noise estimation, moreover, in each iteration step, the inverse of the noise correlation matrix must be calculated, resulting in a cubic increase in complexity with the block size. It should be noted, however, that the computational complexity of the estimators proposed by the invention remains constant with respect to the time of measurement, that is, with respect to the measurement time. H. the cost of processing each data block remains the same as more data blocks are received. However, in the experiments it has been shown that the block processing time is not too high compared to the block detection time and the method is computationally feasible as a "real time" application and theoretically could measure infinitely with increasing accuracy (assuming the measurement environment is stationary).
The proposed estimation algorithms were experimentally compared with the Schenck Wattmeter algorithm in terms of the scattered circle radius (SKR) performance measure. In the experiments performed, the noise parameters were predicted using approximately 50 measurements of 2.5 seconds each from each machine. These precalculated parameters were then used for the individual measurements to form the unbalance parameter estimates. In all experiments a performance improvement over the wattmeter method was achieved using the APES algorithm and predicted noise method. The procedure with adaptive noise estimation provided similar results on a horizontal machine as the procedure with precalculation. The higher frequency resolution becomes particularly critical when there are significant interfering harmonics near the rotation frequency and thus the signal of interest. In this case, a high frequency resolution is crucial for smoothing to get a good estimate of the background noise process in the "usable signal" frequency range.
