Beschreibungdescription
The present invention describes an arrangement for converting gaussian laser radiation with a phase element and a downstream Fourier transformer, which is an F-theta objective, wherein the gaussian laser radiation converted by the phase element in the far field of the phase element in the Fourier transform a desired intensity distribution in the image plane of the Fourier transformer becomes.
This intensity distribution can then be deflected by suitably chosen mirrors or other beam direction manipulating optical elements. A directional deflection can also be carried out by an arrangement of a plurality of directionally deflecting optical elements.
These directional deflecting optical elements may also be an optical scanner by design. This optical scanner consists in most cases of at least two optical elements for beam deflection. The optical beam deflection is performed in such a way that two moving beam deflecting elements (usually mirrors) are moved in such a way that the desired beam deflection is realized in 2D or 3D. After the beam deflection, it is possible for any other optical elements to follow which do not influence the beam in terms of its optical phase function or its intensity distribution. The desired intensity distribution is then generated by a subsequent Fourier optical element. Most often, an optical element having this property is a phase element, i. in a specific embodiment, a lens or system of lenses, other phase elements or a combination of the foregoing. The desired intensity distribution then arises in the image plane of the optical system. This is in a concrete embodiment as a top hat-shaped intensity distribution in the image plane of the optical imaging device, for. As a lens generated.
Such a method of generating e.g. top-hat shaped intensity distribution can be used in some processes of laser material processing. Particularly in processes in which the heat input plays a role in the laser ablation for energies smaller than the actual ablation threshold have top-hat-shaped intensity distributions a lower heat input. In a Gaussian intensity profile, a finite fraction of the energy below the lasing threshold is introduced into the material. In the case of lasers with pulse durations in the range of picoseconds or else longer pulses, this energy leads to thermal damage to the edge regions of the form to be structured. Such thermal damage is also called heat-affected zone (HAZ).
According to the invention, in the case of a top hat-shaped intensity profile with a sufficiently small deviation from the ideal top hat profile, there is a very large increase in the flank as a feature. This large increase in the flank of the top-hat-shaped intensity distribution triggers the task in selected processes of laser material processing that no damage to the material occurs outside the desired structuring boundaries. Compared to a Gauss profile, a Super Gauss profile or a Bessel intensity distribution, the share of energy in the outlets of the top hat distribution is very small. The presented method also allows a targeted influencing of the intensity distribution in the outlets of the desired intensity distribution. By means of an adapted optical design, the energy components can thus be selectively controlled and used for a process of edge processing.
In addition to the generation of a top hat-shaped intensity distribution, e.g. Donut-shaped or other intensity distributions realize.
