Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen optischen Sensor. The invention relates to an optical sensor.
Optical sensors emit light that is reflected or scattered on an object to be examined and received back by the sensor. In this way, for example, an object can be detected (presence detection) or the distance to an object can be determined. The information obtained from these optical sensors is mostly used to control automatic equipment.
Optical sensors basically have a housing. Within this housing is an electronic sensor assembly. This is used in the assembly of the optical sensor in the housing. Furthermore, a cable connection is provided, by means of which the optical sensor can be connected via a cable to external electronic devices. Between the electronic sensor assembly and the electrical cable connection is located in the interior of the housing, an electrical connection.
This internal electrical connection has hitherto been realized as a solder connection, as a plug-in connection or as a press-fit connection. The disadvantage is on the one hand in the high cost (namely in the connectors in the material costs and installation costs) and in the manual soldering also in the installation costs. On the other hand, the production reliability due to poor solder joints, short circuits, contamination etc. is not optimal.

The invention has for its object to provide an optical sensor which can be easily assembled.
The technical solution is characterized by the features of claim 1.
This provides an optical sensor with improved electrical connection in all respects between the sensor assembly and the cable connector. The basic idea is that during assembly of the device, the sensor assembly and the cable connection are defined defined for electrical contact. For the electrical contacting therefore requires only the insertion of the sensor assembly in the housing. An additional contacting requirement is not necessary. As a result of a fundamental idea ago modular installation system with automatic contacting of the sensor assembly is created with the cable connection. The solderless final assembly significantly reduces working time. As a result, the assembly is more flexible, because the shortened final assembly orders can be completed faster. In addition, can be dispensed with expensive connectors in terms of cost. Furthermore, the production reliability increases. Because a swap of strands, short circuits and bad ("cold") solder joints are excluded. Finally, contamination by flux spatter during soldering is avoided. The technical realization of the electrical connection between the sensor assembly and the cable connection provides the basic principle that two circuit boards are provided, namely a printed circuit board for the sensor assembly and a printed circuit board for the electrical cable connection. These two circuit boards carry the necessary elements for contacting. When installing the sensor assembly, the two printed circuit boards lie very close to each other in parallel. The contact elements on the two circuit boards can be equipped by machine, in particular contact springs. Likewise, this machine assembly applies to the electrical mating contact elements on the other circuit board. The circuit board, which is assigned to the cable connection, can be optionally mechanically soldered to a corresponding socket housing. This socket housing defines with the circuit board a unit. By the two printed circuit boards are arranged parallel to each other in the installed state, so that there are only the electrical contact elements therebetween, space is thereby saved due to the very space-saving contact. The cable connection device is designed in the form of a female housing with contact pins for a cable connector. The cable connection associated circuit board is soldered firmly to the contact pins of the female housing and thus defines on the one hand the electrical contact with the circuit board and on the other hand ensures the mechanical fixation of the circuit board. Finally, the cable connection device with the circuit board is a structural unit. This assembly can be easily inserted into the housing and thus forms the basis for the subsequent insertion of the sensor assembly.
Preferably, according to the embodiment in
According to the embodiment in
Finally, the development according to claim 4 proposes that the electrical counter-elements are so-called metal pads on the printed circuit board. These metal pads are preferably gold plated. This optimizes the electrical contact.
