Abstract
Description
The The invention relates to a radome for a distance warning radar in a motor vehicle comprising a basic structure.
For reliable operation of communication and radar systems, in particular of such Systems in motor vehicles is the avoidance of water, ice and snow layers in the receiver path the antennas crucial for their functional safety. By addition of appropriate water, Ice and snow strata are disturbed by these systems, wherein In extreme cases, the systems will fail. To this, too avoid, z. B. so-called distance-warning radars of motor vehicles covered with a radome. However, the operation of such a distance-warning radar will once again deteriorates considerably when water, Deposit ice or snow layers.
It Therefore, an object of the present invention is a radome of the initially to provide said type, which due to its construction the deposition of dirt, ice, snow and moisture with great reliability prevented.
Is solved this object by a radome with the features of the claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the subclaims.
One Radom according to the invention for a Distance warning radar in a motor vehicle comprises a basic structure wherein on an outer Radomoberfläche a Dirt, water, snow and / or Ice-repellent top layer consisting of an organosilicon Matrix comprising nanodispersive titanium dioxide with photocatalytic Effect is formed. The cover layer can be hydrophilic or be formed hydrophobic. By the formation of the cover layer The formation of dirt, water, ice and snow layers on the radome surface reliable prevented. The effectiveness of the titanium dioxide surface is based on this their photocatalytic activity. In particular, by the titanium dioxide component in the topcoat according to a corresponding Irradiation with UV light very small contact angle, d. H. Contact angle <1 °, at the surface of the Cover layer can be produced so that the surface has highly hydrophilic properties having. But it is also possible that the cover layer according to the invention a hydrophobic surface characteristic having. The nanodispersive distribution of titanium dioxide in the Wearing top layer to an even distribution this component in the topcoat at. This can be at z. B. a weather-related removal of the surface of the top layer constantly new Titanium dioxide provided with photocatalytic action become. The self-cleaning effect of the cover layer of the radome according to the invention makes sure that the outer radome surface as far as possible remains free of dirt, water, snow and ice, leaving a increased Functional reliability of the distance-warning radar results. In addition to the surface-cleaning Properties of the topcoat is due to this due to their silicon components also the scratch resistance of the cover layer and the radome coated therewith elevated. The thickness of the cover layer can be between 1 and 100 nm.
The organosilicon matrix can also consist of silicones and organic Auxiliaries such. As plasticizers and / or binders exist. It is still possible that the cover layer contains an inorganic UV absorber. Finally that can Titanium dioxide applied as a titanium dioxide sol on the outer radome surface become. There is a possibility to apply the titania sol as a film. In this case, the cover layer from 5-40 Wt .-% titania sol in the organosilicon matrix.
Bei typischen Wellenlängen um 1 bis 20 mm, liegt die Dicke der Metallschicht bevorzugt im Bereich von ca. 50 bis 200 nm.In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention radome is a metal layer between the basic structure of the radome and the cover layer and / or a radar-transparent protective layer is formed. The metal layer can be made of chrome, indium or aluminum or equivalent Compounds of these metals exist. Also other metals and metal compounds are conceivable. The metal layer is very thin, so they due to their small thickness, the longer wave radar waves almost pass unrestrictedly leaves. For this purpose, it is much thinner than the wavelength of the metal layer Radar beams. At typical wavelengths around 1 to 20 mm, lies the thickness of the metal layer preferably in the range of about 50 to 200 nm.
The Metal layer can be aesthetic establish be applied to the radome, also it is possible the metal layer with to connect an electric power source for heating the radome. As Radomheizung, can thin metal wires used which are perpendicular to the polarization direction of the electromagnetic Waves are standing. This arrangement allows as unhindered as possible Passing through the waves.
Of Further, between the metal layer and the cover layer, the Radar transparent protective layer may be formed, in particular for Protection of the thin Metal layer is used. The radar-transparent protective layer can thereby Made of polycarbonate.
A use according to the invention a coating consisting of an organosilicon matrix comprising nanodispersive titanium dioxide with photocatalytic action refers to a dirt, water, snow and / or ice-resistant cover layer on radar antennas or radar antenna covers, in particular on a radome of a motor vehicle. In addition to the surface-cleaning Properties of the topcoat is due to this due to their silicon components also the scratch resistance of the topcoat and the coated therewith Radar antennas or radar antenna covers increased.
A Another embodiment of the coating is a superhydrophobic Cover layer formed. By refining the hydrophobic surface layer surface by means of additional Microstructuring enhances the formation of droplets and the surface superhydrophobic property. The self-cleaning mechanism Superhydrophobic, microstructured surfaces is naturally found in plants as the lotus flower has been observed and known as the "lotus effect". This effect leads also to effective reduction of adhesion and new formation of snow and ice layers. The microstructuring of the surface is through the nanodispersive titanium dioxide in the organosilicon matrix very favored.
