Time is international with the standard wrought alloy AZ31 (MgAl3Zn1m%) only a magnesium sheet material according to ASTM-B90 standardized.
The Production of rolled sheets and strips usually takes place made of continuously cast slabs or blocks. These must be before the rolling usually machined and subjected to several hours homogenization annealing become.
Die Herstellung von Formteilen aus konventionellen Magnesium-Legierungsblechen erfordert in der Regel eine Warmumformung oberhalb 200°C.The Rolling even up to the thin sheet or strip is a multi-stage elaborate Process, possibly with some reheating. The production of Moldings of conventional magnesium alloy sheets requires usually a hot forming above 200 ° C.

The over the Process route casting rolls or thin strip casting produced Standard alloy AZ31 shows on the one hand the potential for improved properties Semi-finished sheet metal products in comparison to rolled products made of continuously cast steel Starting material. However, known processing technology remain and property-specific deficits of this alloy in part receive.
Dies betrifft legierungs- bzw. erstarrungsbedingte Schwierigkeiten bzw. This relates to alloying or solidification-related difficulties or restrictions both in the casting tape production as well as in the subsequent Sheet metal production, which remains limited to process windows lead in the pre-material production and processing. Further is still a homogenizing annealing treatment before rolling required.
The state of the art will be over the well-known standard alloy AZ31 addition only a few alloy alternatives for magnesium sheets with advanced mechanical-technological Properties mentioned. Furthermore, there is a lack of specific material production through casting rolls or thin strip casting tuned Alloy selection. About that In addition, suitable processing methods for the production of large format are lacking Magnesium sheets of comparatively narrow casting tape or thin strip products.
Warmfestigkeiten, aufweisen.task Therefore, the invention is alloy compositions for magnesium sheets and ribbons indicate that for Casting or thin strip or thin slab casting especially are suitable to process easier and steeper in the rolling process and, as a sheet metal material, extended mechanical and technological properties, especially an increased ductility and deformability up to cold workability possibly combined with higher strengths or heat resistance.
Farther should this sheet metal grades a good corrosion resistance and recycle in normal recycling cycles to let.
In addition, should a cost-effective Process for producing these sheets and strips can be specified.
folgenden Zulegierungen (Gehalte in Masse-%):
Al ≤ 10 und/oder
Zn ≤ 10
Mn ≤ 1,0
Ni
max. 0,005
Fe max. 0,005
Cu max. 0,01
sowie Sr, Ca oder Zr.According to the teachings of the invention, this object is achieved by magnesium sheets and strips, produced from cast-rolled or thin-strip cast or thin-slab produced starting material, consisting of a magnesium alloy with the following alloys (contents in% by mass):
Al ≤ 10 and / or Zn ≤ 10
Mn ≤ 1.0
Ni max. 0.005
Fe max. 0.005
Cu max. 0.01
with the addition of at least one element from the rare earth region (SE) and Sr, Ca or Zr.
- - Adjustment of the main alloying partners Al and / or Zn in concentration ranges, which on the one hand limit segregation-related formation of low-melting eutectics to a tolerable level. On the other hand, a texture gain (direction-dependent properties) observed with decreasing Al and / or Zn content is to be considered in the forming, for example by rolling.
- - Choice of Zn, Al and Mn concentration with the aim of maximum solid solution hardening of the magnesium matrix, ie Al and / or Zn and / or Mn contents are preferably added up to room temperature maximum solubility in magnesium.
- - Addition of one or more with Al and / or Zn and / or Mn compound-forming additional elements, preferably rare earths (SE) based on a cost-cerium mischmetal to higher melting second intermetallic phases, including Al-SE or Mg-SE or complex phases with Al , Zn, Mg, Mn and SE train. However, other rare earths such as Y, Gd as well as other elements such as Ca or Sr and combinations of several additional elements can be added as compounding agents.
- - The fine crystallinity and the desired uniform second phase distribution in the cast state can be promoted by metallurgically compatible grain refining agents such as Zr (for Mg-Zn-based systems) or Sr, Ca (for Mg-Al-based systems).
- - The coordination of the alloy composition for casting aims at the lowest possible solidification interval, which promotes a uniform low-segregation and fine crystalline solidification and microstructure and allows higher casting speeds. The contents of the additional elements, in particular those of the rare earths, are chosen so low that no inadmissibly high tendency to stick, eg. B. on the casting rolls arises.
- - The addition of rare earths and other alloying elements is quantitatively adjusted so that above the maximum solubility of Mg mixed crystal lying Al and / or Zn contents partially or completely, z. B. tied in the form of SE or Sr or Ca-containing higher melting phases and low melting eutectics are avoided. The solidification completion, for example, of an AZ-based alloy takes place so clearly above the Mg-Mg 17 Al 12 eutectic (437 ° C.), which otherwise was achieved by entrainment.
- - The alloy compositions and casting processes are coordinated so that a two- or multi-phase solidification structure, consisting of Mg mixed crystal and thermally stable precipitation structures in the grain and at grain boundaries, arises. A z. B. for AZ alloys often several hours Homogenisieren / solution annealing (in AZ31 up to 24 hours at about 400 ° C) can be greatly reduced or completely eliminated.
- During plastic forming by rolling, this stable obstacle structure promotes a more homogeneous sliding deformation of the hexagonal Mg mixed crystal. The formation of strong rolling textures is reduced and the isotropy of the mechanical-technological sheet properties promoted.
- - Hot forming produces an extremely fine recrystallization structure. The pin effect of thermally stable second phases inhibits grain growth, this is an impermissible microstructure coarsening z. B. avoided during reheating operations.
- - At the same time, the finely crystalline and thermally stable structure are suitable both for cold forming and conventional hot forming, for example by tempered deep drawing or hydroforming, as well as for high-temperature sheet metal forming, in particular by superplastic shaping.

The Magnesium sheets according to the invention and ribbons be advantageous from casting belt with a maximum thickness <20 mm by means of Gießwalz- or Dünnband- or thin slab casting process with or without subsequent Forming made. The casting tape solidified compared to block or continuous casting products with comparatively high cooling rate and can be made into boards or reeled into coils become.
If necessary, the semifinished product is processed, then, if necessary, heat-treated and thereafter reshaped, preferably by rolling with or without subsequent roll forming.
The cast or cast rolled Materials are preferably brisk to one for rolling suitable preheating temperature between 150 and 500 ° C heated. A special thermal and usually time consuming Intermediate treatment of the starting material, such as. B. a Homogenisierungsglühung can omitted.
Besonders bevorzugt sind Einzelstichabnahmen zwischen 20 und 50%.The Magnesium sheets and tapes are heated by warm or semi-warm rolling in the temperature range between 100 ° C and 450 ° C and Single engraving decreases between 10 and 60%. Particularly preferred Single stings decrease between 20 and 50%.
The Magnesium sheets and tapes become dependent on it from the difference in thickness between starting material and finished sheet with preferably low number of heat finish-rolled to final dimensions. The total degree of deformation each heat is between 40 and 90%. Ideally, the initial strength of the cast starting material 2- to 4-fold of the sheet metal product.
By Cross or cross rolls of abgetafeltem starting material with the above Parameters can be large format Sheets, z. B. produce thin sheets with a thickness <3.0 mm, the width of well above 2000 mm the one currently available Starting width of the cast rolled or as a thin strip or thin slab cast materials of <800 mm is located. This is called transitional stage in later high volume Bandbetriebe already a much wider range of dimensions reached, from which also large format Have automotive components displayed.
The Cross or cross rolls also has an increased isotropy of the mechanical and technological properties of the sheet. At the same time, it should be noted that the surface quality of sheet metal, made of the abovementioned alloy groups and precursor materials, compared to Conventional standard alloy AZ31 be increased significantly can. This makes the particular suitability of the selected alloys for the Sheet metal production from cast rolled or thin-strip cast Underpinning materials.
Bei AZ31 ggf. auftretende Heterogenitäten des Vormaterials sind nicht zu beobachten bzw. treten durch die bessere Umformfähigkeit während des Walzens am Blechprodukt nicht negativ in Erscheinung.at AZ31 possibly occurring heterogeneities of the starting material are not to observe or occur through the better formability while Rolling on the sheet product is not negative in appearance.
Especially advantageous is a clocked inline-board production in batch or Continuous operation starting with the heating of the starting material, the Finishing of the thin sheets to final thickness in a heat with subsequent straightening directly from the rolling heat.
