Abstract
The method involves casting the steel piston through a fine casting process wherein the casting mould and the lost core are shaped so that at least two or more closable openings are formed in the coolant channel after the mould and core have been removed. Independent claim describes steel piston (1) with coolant channel (5) formed by fine-casting. The closure part (6) for the opening of the coolant channel is preferably oval or kidney shaped and fits in the opening with force and/or positive engagement.
