Abstract

Preparation of propylene from an alkane containing propane poor steam (A-material current steam) (2) and a propane rich steam (P-material current steam) (3) comprises producing a first intermediate product steam (4) by steam splitting (steam cracking) of the A-material steam; producing a second intermediate product steam (5) by catalytic dehydrogenation of the P-material steam; contacting the first and second intermediate product streams with a third intermediate product steam (6); and decomposing the third steam in a gas decomposition arrangement (Z-decomposer). Preparation of propylene from an alkane containing propane poor steam (A-material current steam) (2) and a propane rich steam (P-material current steam) (3) comprises producing a first intermediate product steam (4) by steam splitting (steam cracking) of the A-material steam in a steam column arrangement; producing a second intermediate product steam (5) by catalytic dehydrogenation of the P-material steam in a propane dehydrogenating mechanism; contacting the first and second intermediate product streams with a third intermediate product steam (6); and decomposing the third intermediate product steam in a gas decomposition arrangement (Z-decomposer), where the at least ethylene (7) and propylene (8) are extracted as end products.
