Description
The The invention relates to a method for storing hydrogen after the preamble of claim 1 and a hydrogen storage to perform the same according to the preamble of claim 5.
Die Oxydation kann beispielsweise in einer Brennstoffzelle erfolgen, in der die freiwerdende Energie in Form von elektrischem Strom zur Verfügung gestellt wird, welcher dann eine Elektromaschine antreiben kann.hydrogen represents an energy storage, as fuel, for example can be used to drive vehicles. hydrogen can be obtained by hydrolysis of water by means of electricity. at a subsequent Oxidation reaction with oxygen can completely release hydrogen with release of energy Water to be oxidized. The released energy is thereby used for driving vehicles. The oxidation can, for example take place in a fuel cell in which the released energy in the form of electric power is provided, which then drive an electric machine.
Hydrogen is at normal conditions as diatomic gaseous molecule before and forms in the mixing ratio of 2: 1 with oxygen molecules an explosive one Mixture. In order to economically use hydrogen As energy storage, it is necessary storage devices to create the one possible high mass fraction of hydrogen in relation to the total mass of the storage device be able to record.
The generally accepted target for the period until 2015 a relationship the hydrogen mass to the total mass of the hydrogen storage including the stored hydrogen of better 6.5% (DOE target; of Energy; USA).
A first concept provides that the gaseous hydrogen is compressed and stored in high-pressure tanks. At a pressure of, for example, 35 MPa and a temperature of 300 K, it is possible to store 2.3 kg of compressed hydrogen (H 2 ) in a 100 liter system. In order to achieve the requirement of 6.5% hydrogen content of the total mass of the storage system, the high-pressure tank and the fittings must then have a total mass of only 32.7 kg. Systems that meet these mass requirements are hardly feasible today. At a temperature of 293 K (20 ° C), a pressure of about 80 MPa would build up, based on the volume ratio of gaseous to liquid hydrogen of 798.2 / 1 basis. If, in addition, cooling of the high-pressure tank is used, more compressed hydrogen can be stored, so that the mass fraction available for the container and the fittings increases in total system mass. Further, the specific energy content E H2 of such a hydrogen storage increases compared to the energy content E gas of an energy storage using gasoline as the storage medium in a 100 liter storage system of E H2 / E gasoline = 8.6% (300 K) up to E H2 / E Gasoline = 24% at a temperature of liquid nitrogen (77 K) and in each case a pressure of 35 MPa. An even higher storage density can be achieved with systems that use liquid hydrogen. For this purpose, a temperature of 20 K is required under normal pressure. In a 100-liter system can be stored 7.1 kg of hydrogen, so that with a total mass of 109 kg just under 102 kg for the tank are available to achieve a mass fraction of 6.5% hydrogen in the total system mass. Cooling to 20 K is very energy intensive. As a result, an overall energy balance of such a storage concept is adversely affected. Furthermore, evaporation losses of liquid hydrogen, especially in mobile tank units, unavoidable and amount for mobile tanks, depending on the tank volume, up to about 2.5% of the tank contents per day. Due to the property of hydrogen together with oxygen to be able to form an explosive mixture, such losses are very disadvantageous.
Other Storage concepts rely on the use of materials in which Hydrogen is adsorbed. In addition to metal hydrides have become particular carbon-based adsorbents proved to be suitable.
Even though Mass specific almost three times more energy stored in hydrogen than in gasoline, the system advantage is not due yet Sophisticated storage technology largely lost.

Of the Invention is based on the technical problem of a hydrogen storage and to provide a hydrogen storage method with which a high storage density of hydrogen is achieved.
The Technical object is achieved by a method for storage of hydrogen with the features of claim 1 and a Hydrogen storage solved with the features of claim 5.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind in den Unteransprüchen angegeben.advantageous Embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
For this purpose, it is intended that hydrogen is stored in a high-pressure hydrogen-tight tank, the one cooling device for cooling having the high-pressure tank. The high-pressure tank is by means of the cooling device Coolable to a temperature between the boiling point (at normal pressure) of liquid hydrogen and about the boiling point (at atmospheric pressure) of liquid nitrogen lies. It is further provided that in the high-pressure tank a physically adsorbing material is located. The invention is thus the idea underlying hydrogen in gaseous, cooled and compressed form to accumulate under high pressure on a physically adsorbing material and thus three possible in principle Optimal combination of storage principles. Advantageous over one Storage in the liquid Condition is that for the Compression consumes only about 60% of the energy needed for liquefaction is. Furthermore, no evaporation losses for hydrogen occur at a storage in the liquid Physical state are unavoidable. By a cooling of the High pressure tanks on e.g. a temperature that is the boiling point temperature from liquid Equivalent to nitrogen becomes the internal energy of the hydrogen gas lowered and thereby an adsorption on the physically increased adsorbent material. That way you can high storage capacities realize. Furthermore, all required technologies are already ready she developed for an economical technical use are available. From the high-pressure tank, with the physically adsorbing material filled is hydrogen can be introduced and removed without hysteresis. A tanker warming for removing hydrogen, as they do for some high-performance hydride storage is required, not applicable.
The Invention provides that the cooling device a cryotank enclosing the high-pressure tank. One Cryotank, which encloses the high-pressure tank, offers the advantage that the high pressure tank thermally insulated by the cryotank to the environment remains as long as a cryogenic cooling fluid not in the cooling jacket has evaporated. As a result, a simple cooling device can be created. The cryotank is filled with the cooling fluid filled. Advantageously, the cryotank is also thermally opposite Isolated environment. An unavoidable entry of heat into the Hydrogen storage is therefore due to the selected geometry in the cryotank takes place and leads there to a warming of the cooling fluid. The cooling fluid usually has a temperature just below one Phase transition temperature lies or corresponds to this. Preferably, in the cooling fluid at a heat input thus a phase transition from liquid in gaseous form. Excess cooling fluid is discharged from the cryotank in the form of gas. This can a "passive" cooling of the High-pressure tanks over reached larger periods become.
Especially high storage densities are achieved when the physically adsorbing Carbon based material and a carbon powder is. In one 100l hydrogen storage can For example, 30 kg of carbon powder can be used. At a Pressure of 35 MPa and a temperature of 77 K can be about as Store 10.4 kg of hydrogen. To a hydrogen mass fraction of To obtain 6.5%, the total system can thus have a mass of 160 kg including having the carbon powder mass of 30 kg. Thus remain for the High pressure tank, the cooling device and other fittings about 120 kg mass.
In there was evidence in the literature that carbon nanotubes, especially single wall carbon nanotubes, especially good physical could be adsorbing materials, which are also referred to as Nonoskalige carbon modifications.
A Particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention comprises a cooler based on liquid Nitrogen. liquid Nitrogen is available as a technical gas. Both the technology for liquefying of nitrogen as well as for the storage and handling of liquid nitrogen is well developed and freely available. Thus, a cooling device, the based on liquid Nitrogen is operated in a simple and cost-effective manner will be realized.
A Particularly advantageous embodiment of a hydrogen storage device according to the invention includes a compressor for compressing hydrogen. These Continuing education is able to extract hydrogen from a gas storage, in which the hydrogen is uncompressed and optionally uncooled, ingest or feed into the high-pressure tank.
A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises the cooling device a cooling device, to hydrogen at cryogenic temperatures, especially the temperature from liquid Nitrogen, to cool. This makes it possible uncooled To feed hydrogen particularly effectively into the high-pressure accumulator. This will result in faster filling the high-pressure tank allows.
The Features of the method according to the invention have the same advantages as the corresponding features of the device according to the invention on.
Diese zeigen:following The invention is based on a preferred embodiment with reference to Figures closer explained. These show:
In
In Table 1 shows, for comparison, storage densities for 100 liter systems that would correspond to the DOE target.
Tabelle 1 Table 1
- (CNT = carbon nanotubes – Kohlenstoff-Nanoröhrchen)(CNT = carbon nanotubes - carbon nanotubes)
- (SWNT = single wall nanotubes – Einzelwand-(Kohlenstoff)-Nanoröhrchen)(SWNT = single wall nanotubes - single wall (carbon) nanotubes)
- (DOE = United States Department of Energy – U.S.-Energieministerium)(DOE = United States Department of Energy - U.S. Department of Energy)
Out Table 1 shows that when using high pressure as well as low temperatures and an adsorbent an increase of the relationship of energy stored in hydrogen reaches the energy Can be used in gasoline at a comparable 100l system is stored. This results from the 6th column. The table can be taken that at a pressure of 6 MPa when using of carbon nanotubes, especially single wall nanotubes, the energy ratio better is considered to be liquid stored hydrogen (provided that in the literature indicated 8% storage capacity for the SWNT actually becomes reached). The best energy ratio can be achieved when using carbon powder in one High-pressure tank, with hydrogen compressed to 35 MPa 77 K filled is. For comparison, the corresponding values are in the 5th line for liquid natural gas specified.
The System has the overall advantage that the storable energy, based on a 100l system, with currently available sorbents at least compared to a factor of 1.5 a system that uses liquid Hydrogen works, can be increased. Suitable sorbents are commercially available. New available Sorbents can be easily integrated into the existing system. Further, loading or unloading, i. a store and Storing the hydrogen without hysteresis. This also applies at a supply or a withdrawal at cryogenic temperatures. Another advantage is that hydrogen is in the gaseous state is stored. The compression losses are only about 60% of the energy losses that would occur in a liquefaction. The System technology for liquid Nitrogen is highly developed and available immediately and at any time. hereby an economic realization of the systems is facilitated. Across from a storage of liquid Hydrogen occur no hydrogen losses. It only occurs Evaporation losses of nitrogen, however, manageable and especially with regard to a risk of fire or explosion harmless are. The system described or the storage technology described can be used both mobile and immobile.
