Abstract
Description
The The invention relates to a friction welding method in which the welded Components at the weld in particular rotating against each other are rubbed.
Erfahrungsaustausch Reibschweißen, München 10./11.03.2003).At the friction welding become the to be welded Components during the friction phase with a predetermined force, the feed force when rubbing, called friction force below, pressed against each other and as long as rubbed against each other, for example, the friction speed turned against each other until the material melts in the contact zone and flows. The components are then in the compression and holding phase with a also predetermined force, the feed force during upsetting, below Called compression force, or the feed force while holding, below Holding force called, compressed and held together for such a long time or with such holding power, that when cooling down a cohesive Connection forms. The for determine the necessary parameters friction and friction speed out of the for the melting of the components in the contact zone necessary energy. In practice, the technological requirements for friction, Friction speed, compression force and holding force based on theoretical Considerations and experimental investigations (see for example L. Appel, internship friction welding, 13. Exchange of experience friction welding, Munich, 10./11.03.2003).

It However, it has been shown that also by means of a corresponding Regulation of the friction welding process while the friction phase, the repeatability, especially in terms of dimensional stability, for in the practice occurring applications is not sufficiently high.
The invention is therefore a Reibschweißverfahren that at a high Process reliability high quality and dimensionally accurate friction welded joints allows.
These Task is according to the invention with a Method comprising the features of claim 1, solved. In the claims 2 to 5 are advantageous developments or refinements the method according to the invention described.
Erfahrungsaustausch Reibschweißen, München 10./11.03.2003).The inventive method based on a control of the friction welding process, in the end the feed travel is the manipulated variable. Of course, the feed path can of course also shown at a known feed rate through time become. To achieve a high quality friction welded joint Required set values of the friction force, compression force and holding force for the individual phases of the friction welding process (Friction, compression and holding phase) from known theoretical considerations and experimental studies and determined during the friction welding regulated in accordance with these guidelines (see, for example, L. Appel, Internship friction welding, 13. Experience exchange friction welding, Munich 10./11.03.2003).
The inventive method has the particular advantage that welded components are manufactured can, in the direction of action of the feed force, usually this will the longitudinal direction be the components, accurate to size are. It is not necessary that the components to be welded already the for the welded Components required high dimensional accuracy exhibit. Rather, the dimensional accuracy by controlling the friction welding process with the feed path as control value in accordance with the determined and predetermined setpoint values of controlled feed force in conjunction with a positionally accurate positioning in the direction of the axis of rotation and tension of the to be welded Achieved components.
The components to be welded are first tensioned in the direction of the axis of rotation in the clamping means of the friction welding machine according to the inventive method. After that the determination of the spring constant of the friction welding machine - clamping device - components as a measure of the elastic deformation of this system when pressing against each other to be welded components by the components to be welded are pressed against each other with different values of the feed force and the respective, corresponding to the value of the feed force feed path is detected. From the corresponding values feed force feed path, the spring constant k for an elastic deformation of the system friction welding machine - clamping device - components is calculated and stored. It may be expedient to compare the value of the spring constant k calculated for the respective friction welding process with values from previous friction welding processes with identical components (reference value). If the calculated value of the spring constant k deviates from the reference value over a specified tolerance range (deviation> 5%), the technical-technological initial conditions necessary for achieving a high-quality and dimensionally accurate friction-welded connection are not fulfilled. Possible causes are insufficient accurate and firm clamping of the components to be welded or errors in the components themselves. Conveniently, should also be checked when determining the spring constants, whether the components to be welded are sufficiently precise and tightened. For this purpose, for example, the distance covered feed path of the first touch of the components to be welded at the beginning of the determination of the spring constant, ie when driving against each other components to the maximum feed force, and the distance traveled during subsequent driving apart of the components of the maximum feed force to release the Components are detected at the interface and compared with each other. If considerable deviations (> 10%) occur between the two feed paths, the components to be welded have either set or deformed in the clamping device. The determination of the spring constant should then be repeated. If the deviations in the traveled feed distances are <10%, the process can continue. Otherwise, the process should be discontinued because the necessary technical-technological initial conditions for achieving a high-quality and dimensionally accurate friction-welded connection are not met. After determining the spring constants, a zero point calibration is performed by moving the components to be welded against each other at a predetermined feed force until they touch the spot to be welded. The traveled feed travel is saved as zero point. From the geometrical data of the positionally accurate in the direction of the axis of rotation of the voltage to be welded components and the stored zero point for the dimensionally accurate welding of the components zurückzulegende feed path is calculated and also stored. This feed path includes a path portion - Reibweg, possibly Anreibweg - and another path portion - Stauchweg-, wherein the division of the feed path in the path components Reibweg, possibly Anreibweg and upsetting path on the basis of preliminary investigations. The feed paths to be traversed during the friction welding process are calculated with reference to the respective position zero point.
The Components are returned to zero and the friction welding process, Rotation of a component with the technologically specified friction speed and press against each other the to be welded Components at the friction point with the technologically specified frictional force, is started. The friction force will be according to predetermined setpoints regulated. The feed movement can during the friction welding process away- and / or time-dependent be ultimately controlled by the process Feed path is. In the control of the feed movement, the feed force-dependent elastic Deformation of the System Friction Welding Machine - Clamping Devices - Components included. The friction process is terminated after covering the friction path and the components heated in the friction zone until the material melts with the for compressing required compression force compressed until the compression path covered is. Thereafter, the components are held until a sufficient Cooling takes place is. Welded components according to the invention in the effective direction of the feed force very accurate. The dimensional accuracy can still be increased are caused by warming Longitudinal expansions of Components in the calculation of the feed path (friction path, possibly Anreibweg and / or upsetting path) become. By means of the method according to the invention tolerances the welded components of ± 10 μm achieved at output tolerances of non-welded components of up to ± 1 mm. Due to the regulation of the feed force during the friction, compression and Holding phase, the Reibschweißverbindungen are repeatable of high quality.
