Abstract

The system has a photo camera (101) associated with a mobile telephone (100), where the camera records an image of a portion of an article (200). A database provided remote from the mobile telephone, interprets the image to identify the article. The database supplies information about the article to the mobile telephone. The image contains coded data that is decoded in a server (400) associated with the database. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of using a mobile telephone to retrieve information about an article (B) a mobile telephone comprising a camera.
