Description
The The invention relates to a device for aligning and centering a rod or rope shaped Surface waveguide a field device, which for the determination of the level a medium in a container is used, with over the surface waveguide led electromagnetic waves that are at the media surface be reflected, wherein the surface waveguide at least partially of a tubular Structure is enclosed and protrudes into the interior of a container, at least a centering element is provided, which is the surface waveguide in the tubular Centered entity and / or that prevents the surface waveguide with the inner wall of the tubular The structure comes into contact.
One appropriate level gauge is from the applicant under the name Levelflex FMP40 offered and distributed.
One Measuring principle from a variety of measuring methods the level in a container to determine which is the led Microwave or the TDR measurement method (Time Domain Reflection). In the TDR measurement method, e.g. one High frequency signal along a summer field surface waveguide or coaxial waveguide, which in a jump the DK value (dielectric constant) of the surface waveguide surrounding Part of the medium is reflected back. From the time difference between the transmission of the transmitted pulse and the reception of the reflected echo signal can be over the term of the level determined. The so-called FMCW method is in the context with the waveguides described above (surface waveguide or coaxial waveguide) also executable.
Fundamental for the both methods is that a rod or rope-shaped surface waveguide via an opening in the Container, usually through a nozzle, protruding into the medium and it for reproducibility and accuracy of the measurement is important that the rod or rope-shaped surface waveguide to the inner wall of the container, Aligned or to a coaxial outer conductor and is centered. The latter is necessary because in containers at Turbulence and currents in the medium of the rod or rope-shaped Surface waveguide out of his own desired, preferably vertical position can be pressed, causing the Position of the rod-shaped or rope-shaped Surface waveguide to the inner wall of the container, Stutzens or to a Koaxialaußenleiters is changed. Furthermore, a change in position of the rod or rope-shaped Surface waveguide due to vibrations in the entire system and resonant vibrations a reason for one disturbed measurement with the guided Microwave technology. These vibrations can be e.g. of most diverse devices on the container e.g. Motors, pumps are generated.
Vibrationen des Oberflächenwellenleiters auf.adversely in an uncontrolled change in position of the surface waveguide is that due to the measurement situation in the tank is changed and the measurement results are no longer comparable. If the rod or rope-shaped Surface waveguide even the inner wall of the container, the nozzle or a Koaxialaußenleiters is touched a determination of the level does not more is possible. Even with highly agitated media, e.g. by filling operations, ventilation processes or agitators caused, it may be that this movement of the medium on the rod or rope-shaped Surface waveguide transmits and these the surface waveguide moved from its mostly vertical position. This measurement situation would not give reproducible measurements. If the rod or rope-shaped surface waveguide the inner wall of the container, of the neck or coaxial outer conductor touched, is a determination of the level not possible anymore, because of an electrical short circuit. Another problem that with the forces acting on the surface waveguide forces occurs, is that the forces acting on a large mechanical Stress of the surface waveguide represent, which can destroy the rod or rope-shaped probe. These huge Loads on the surface waveguide occur especially by forces of cyclic movements or vibrations of the surface waveguide on.
Out these reasons become spacers, the rod or rope-shaped surface waveguide in its vertical position with respect to the inner wall of the container, neck or a coaxial external conductor hold, appropriate. These should be the surface waveguide in the desired Fix the position.

According to the state of the art, mainly chemically resistant materials with a low DK value or a similar DK value as air (∈ r ≅ 1) are used for the measuring principle of the guided microwave as materials for the centering elements, because every Change causes a reflection of the emitted high-frequency signal. The larger the DK value difference at this point, the more energy of the emitted high-frequency signal is reflected back there. Thus, the following problem can occur: Is the effective DC jump, caused by the centering element on the surface waveguide, almost equal to or greater than the difference of the DK value of the measured phase boundary (eg, air ε r ≈ 1 to the medium ε r ≈ 1.4 - 100), so no measurement signal can be determined at the position where the centering sits. In these cases, no exact level can be determined at this position. As a result, for example, as materials for the centering generally special plastics or a plastic mixture is used, since these usually have a low DK value. An example of this is the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) or perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (PFA) plastics, which are considered suitable for this application, as they are not attacked by solvents or other aggressive chemicals, and by the food and chemical industry as process materials are generally accepted. A disadvantage can be seen, for example, in the fact that polytetrafluoroethylene and perfluoroalkoxy polymers are only permanently heat resistant up to +250 ° C., which fundamentally excludes these materials from a high-temperature application. For this reason, for example, a material that can withstand higher temperatures must be used for a high-temperature application. As materials for this special application as a spacer or centering but only a few materials are used. However, these materials, which can be used, for example, in the high temperature range, usually have the disadvantage of having a high DK value, which makes it difficult to use and use this material as a centering element on a rod-shaped or rope-shaped TDR measuring probe.
Of the The invention is therefore based on the object, a rod or rope-shaped probe for guided electromagnetic To propose waves, which are characterized by an optimized characteristic impedance adaptation distinguished.
This object is achieved according to a first embodiment of the invention in that the centering element consists of a material having a predetermined dielectric constant and that at least one recess is provided on the surface waveguide at least at a position at which the centering is placed, the dimensioning of which Dielectric constant of the material of the centering element and the geometric shape of the centering depends. Due to the recess (s) on the surface waveguide, the wave resistance of the surface waveguide at this point, where the recess (s) are located, increases depending on the size of the recess (s). With the effect of increasing the characteristic impedance through the recess (s) one can thus compensate for the effect of reducing the surface acoustic wave resistance of the waveguide by an attached centering element on the surface waveguide of a material having a higher DK value. The materials which can be used in high-temperature applications essentially have a dielectric constant of ε r > 2.5 (eg ceramics: ε r ≈ 5 - 10). For these materials with an increased DK value of ε r > 2.5, a compensation or equalization of the characteristic impedance of the surface waveguide, as described above, to perform. The dimensioning of the recess (s) depends on the shape and the DK value of the centering element, ie the higher the DK value of the material of the centering element and the more cross sectional area the centering element between the surface waveguide and the tubular structure fills, the larger it must be / The recesses / -en must be designed. With this method, the characteristic impedance of the waveguide can be adjusted.
A second solution to the problem results from the fact that the centering element consists of a material having a predetermined dielectric constant and that the centering element has at least one inner recess and / or that on the outer edge of the centering outer recesses are configured such that the centering only partially rests against the surface waveguide and / or the inner wall of the tubular structure. The electric field is greatest at the surface of the surface waveguide and decreases reciprocally with the distance. For this reason described above, in the vicinity of the surface waveguide, the effect of the centering element on the characteristic impedance of the waveguide is greatest. As a result, in this solution of the problem, the principle has been implemented to minimize the area or the volume that fills the centering between surface waveguide and tubular structure, given a DK value of the material. The materials that can be used in the high temperature applications essentially have a dielectric constant of ε r > 2.5 (eg ceramics ε r ≈ 5 - 10). For these materials with an increased DK value of ε r > 2.5, it is necessary to minimize the disturbance volume, which influences the characteristic impedance of the surface waveguide and thereby causes unwanted reflections of the emitted signal. In addition, for the reasons described above, it is particularly advantageous to minimize the area or volume fractions that are in the vicinity of the surface waveguide. It is important to note the following constraint in minimizing the disturbance volume, that the mechanical stability of the centering is guaranteed at all times.
In a particularly preferred embodiment the first solution The invention provides that the recess (s) on the surface waveguide is / are such that with fixed-m / -n centering / -en on the surface waveguide the characteristic impedance along a waveguide substantially is constant. The characteristic impedance should be in the range in which the centering attached to the surface waveguide is, in the best possible way Case correspond to the characteristic impedance of the undisturbed waveguide. As a result, reflections of the transmission signal at the position, on the centering sitting, reduced or even avoided.
In die Bohrungen können jegliche Arten von Befestigungshilfen für das Zentrierelement, wie zum Beispiel Gewinde, Nuten, Passungen und Konusse eingearbeitet sein.at a further preferred embodiment the first solution The invention provides that it at the / the recess (s) on the surface waveguide is at least one hole. They are all embodiments of Bores e.g. Blind hole drilling and / or through holes, applicable. The holes are preferably mounted so that these the surface waveguide preferably perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the surface waveguide and cross in the middle, but in a special application can the holes also at any angle to the longitudinal axis of the surface waveguide respectively. The size of the hole is under the optimum of the adaptation of the characteristic impedance Observe the mechanical stability of the pierced surface waveguide selected. In the holes can Any type of mounting aids for the centering element, such as For example, incorporated threads, grooves, fits and cones be.
A expedient embodiment the first solution The invention is that it is at the centering element at least a cylindrical pin is in the bore / -en on the Surface waveguide is / are. The pens are made to fit and become inserted into the holes. For blind holes but also for through holes it is possible, insert the pins into the holes with a spring mechanism, which the pins to the outside to the inner wall of the tubular Formed presses. Thus could Variances in the diameter of the tubular structure balanced which ensures accuracy of fit. The pencils can be attached in different ways in the holes, for example, by gluing the pins in the holes, clamped, soldered, over a Threaded or fixed with a fastener become.
In a further preferred embodiment The first embodiment of the invention is in the recess on the surface waveguide a rejuvenation of the surface waveguide.
The rejuvenation of the surface waveguide is in the simplest case a concentric recess of the surface waveguide, however, there are also other area-shaped tapers on the surface waveguide provided, in turn, a rotation of the centering on the surface waveguide prevent. You can do this at the surface waveguide surface tapers worked out in a square, hexagonal or polygonal profile be. The recesses on the surface waveguide are so designed to have an optimum between the mechanical stability and the Adjusting the characteristic impedance of the surface waveguide is achieved i.e. the depth of the recesses results from the shape of the centering element and its DK value and is only from the above-mentioned mechanical stability of the surface waveguide limited.
An advantageous embodiment of the first and second embodiment of the solution according to the invention can be seen in that the centering element consists of a disc-shaped element with recesses. A disk-shaped element is understood to mean any three-dimensional, geometric body whose one dimension, for example, the height is less than the two remaining dimensions, for example length and width. The height or thickness of the disc-shaped element is seen in the simplest case over the entire base the same, so that there are parallel surfaces. However, this is not mandatory, so that, for example, the centering element, seen over the base, has different heights or thicknesses, ie the centering element is at different points at different heights. Particularly advantageous is the reduction of the height of the centering element to the surface waveguide, since this brings two advantages. A first advantage is that the medium can drain better, and the further advantage is the minimization of the volume close to it Surface waveguide is located. The latter is particularly advantageous if an adaptation of the characteristic impedance, with or without a recess on the surface waveguide, due to the mechanical requirements of the centering element, can not be realized with a centering element with parallel planar surfaces.
According to one advantageous embodiment of the two variants of the solution according to the invention it is provided that the Centering element consists of several sections that are detachably connected to each other become. Because of the rejuvenation of the surface waveguide and mounting the centering element at the location of the taper of the surface waveguide the centering element must be divisible, since the surface waveguide has an undercut at the location of the recess and the Centering the surface waveguide encloses at the location of the recess. The centering element can be composed of any number of sections. Furthermore, it is possible these cuts to be provided with an adjustment and fastening element, so that the sections can not be reversed or mounted incorrectly. The sections Be together with the help of this adjustment and fastener held. The Justage- and fastener can by a certain Design of the sections can be achieved by e.g. small pins or guides or the like on the one section the centering element and corresponding to the other portion of the centering equivalent Adjusting and fastening element are worked out, which each other are arranged accurately.
A further advantageous embodiment of the device according to the first solution The invention can be seen in that the centering element, the surface waveguide flush in the area of the recess encloses. The flush Conversion of the centering element to the recess of the surface waveguide Ensures that the characteristic impedance of the waveguide at this point does not change. By doing so leaves prevent an undefined air gap between centering and surface waveguides influences the adaptation of the characteristic impedance and changes it. In addition, can also no medium in a possible Run in air gap and settle in it.
A advantageous embodiment of both variants of the solution according to the invention suggests that the cuts of the centering element are symmetrical. Are the sections symmetrical designed, this has the advantage that only one equal part made must become.
According to one advantageous embodiment of the First and second variant of the solution according to the invention it is proposed that the surface waveguide equipped at the position of the recess divisible. Another Possibility, the disc-shaped Centering element e.g. with a smaller center hole diameter as the outer diameter of the surface waveguide at the position of the recess, is the surface waveguide divisible at this point. The division of the surface waveguide can via a Screw threads are made by e.g. in a part of the surface waveguide a threaded hole is introduced into which a threaded bolt the other part the surface waveguide, which connects to the region of the recess, is screwed. Becomes the surface waveguide divisible designed, can a complete centering before screwing the Surface waveguide on the recess on the surface waveguide be plugged. Other fasteners, such as a Bayonet closure or interference fit are in this embodiment also applicable.
Halteelementen anwendbar.A is very advantageous variant of the two solutions according to the invention to be seen in that at least one retaining element is provided, that the centering element on the rod-shaped or rope-shaped surface waveguide flixiert. The holding element serves for the radial and / or axial fixation of the Centering element on the surface waveguide. In the case of a split centering, these sections of held together the holding element. These holding elements can be pins, Cotter pins, screws, clamps, springs or rings attached to the Surface waveguide and / or attached to the centering and the centering on Fix surface waveguide. There are also other embodiments of Holding elements and combinations of holding mechanisms or Holding elements applicable.
- – geringste Laufzeitverschiebung
- – geringe Reflektion des Hochfrequenzsignals
- High mechanical stability,
- - high chemical resistance,
- - high temperature resistance and
- - lowest runtime shift
- - low reflection of the high frequency signal
For the centering elements materials must be used, which are due to their low conductivity approximately in the range of electrical insulators to settle. However, one can certain conductivity of the material for safety in hazardous areas be desired so that the material is not charged electrostatically and thus there is no spark. Some plastics and engineering ceramics also have good chemical, corrosive and mechanical stability. The plastics polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) or perfluoroalkoxy copolymer (PFA) are ideally suited for use as a spacer or centering element, since they are inert against solvents and aggressive chemicals and are therefore generally accepted by the food and chemical industry as the process material , However, the material class of plastics and in general the plastics listed above are only conditionally applicable in high-temperature applications. As a result, as materials of the centering elements for high-temperature applications essentially only technical ceramics or mixtures with a ceramic component can be used, as these additionally cover the specifications of high-temperature applications. However, these ceramics or mixtures have a high DK value (ε r ≈ 5-10), which causes strong reflections on the non-aligned surface waveguide with fixed centering. In principle, a large number of technical ceramics can be used for this type of application. Examples of usable technical ceramics are aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) and zirconium oxide (ZrO 2 ). Another requirement of the material is that the transit time shift of the high-frequency signal due to the attached centering element is minimized, whereby the accuracy of the measurement is improved. The centering element can also be made of other materials that meet the above-mentioned specifications.
A advantageous embodiment both inventive variants is that it is in the tubular structure to a neck on container acts and that the centering element as a spacer of the surface waveguide to the inner wall of the nozzle is used. The centering element makes the Task, the surface waveguide to hold in the middle of the neck and the surface waveguide to prevent movement in the neck. The free movement of the surface waveguide in the neck causes two problems: the first problem is the mechanical Stress of the surface waveguide by the forces acting upon it; the second problem is the short circuit of the surface waveguide with the inner wall of the neck. In addition, for example, on the surface waveguide damage arise, which tears off lead the probe, if this is e.g. due to the movement at the edge of the neck to the container interior rubs.
A advantageous embodiment both inventive solutions, that it is the tubular Structure around a coaxial outer conductor which, together with the rod-shaped surface waveguide a coaxial conductor system or a waveguide forms and that the Centering element as a spacer of the surface waveguide to the inner wall of the coaxial external conductor serves. The centering element in turn has the task of the surface waveguide in the middle of the tubular coaxial outer conductor to fix and movements of the surface waveguide in Koaxialaußenleiter to avoid. This firstly the measurement situation of the coaxial conductor system held constant, as this does not contact the inner wall of Koaxialaußenleiters, and second, the surface waveguide becomes not stressed too much by the forces acting upon it.
A Particularly advantageous solution according to the invention proposes the use of the centering element as a fastener of a rod or rope-shaped surface waveguide a field device, which for determining the level a medium in a container is used by over the surface waveguide led electromagnetic waves that are at the media surface be reflected, wherein the surface waveguide inside a container protrudes, and wherein a fastener is provided, whose an end portion is connected to the centering element, which in turn the surface waveguide encloses and its other end portion fixed to the inner wall of the container is. The centering element is provided with an additional fastening element also as a one-sided mounting of the surface waveguide on the inner wall of the container or Can be used. The fastener is over a Screwing, riveting, welding, gluing or over one other fastening method firmly mounted on the inner wall.
