Diese Al-Si-Legierung ist sehr verschleißfest und weist gegenüber einer schmelzmetallurgisch hergestellten Al-Si-Legierung einen erheblich höheren Elastizitätsmodul auf. Dieser liegt bei 90000 N/mm2 gegenüber dem der Normallegierung von 70000 N/mm2. Die Legierung ist dabei so eingestellt, dass die Zahnräder im wesentlichen den gleichen Wärmeausdehnungskoeffizienten aufweisen wie der das Pumpengehäuse bildende Aluminium-Druckguss, so dass zwischen den Zahnrädern und dem Pumpengehäuse im Betriebstemperaturbereich von bis zu 150°C und den üblichen Drücken auf der Druckseite von 3,5 bis 4,5 bar auch bei höheren Drehzahlen keine oder im wesentlichen keine Spaltverluste durch eine Vergrößerung der zwischen diesen gegebenen Spalte auftreten. Diese Werkstoffpaarung führt somit zu einer Verringerung der Spaltverluste und damit zu einer Leistungsverbesserung.
