Description
The invention relates to a heater for mobile applications, with a combustion air line for supplying combustion air to a burner, an exhaust line to Removal of exhaust gas from the burner, a control unit for controlling the operation of the burner, and one arranged on the combustion air line and connected with the Control unit of operationally coupled combustion air mass flow sensor. Furthermore concerns the invention a method for controlling such a heater.
A mobile heater of this type is called a so-called auxiliary air heater or Additional water heater in vehicles, such as passenger cars, Commercial vehicles, buses or ships. It is usually used for Heating a passenger compartment or preheating the cooling water Combustion engine.
To ensure optimal combustion in the burner reach, a given amount of fuel is promoted and a pas transmitter target combustion air mass flow determined. The target combustion air mass flow is compared with an actual combustion air mass flow and the speed of the combustion air fan then controlled so that the actual value corresponds to the target value. To the actual To determine the combustion air mass flow is, among other things, a combustion air mass flow sensor in a combustion air line special a hot wire anemometer, arranged. Such mass flow sensors are known and are specifically used in the control of catalysts used in exhaust pipes of internal combustion engines. The one in the DE 44 47 286 A1 described heater can indeed the combustion air fan depending on the fuel supplied quantity can be controlled, however, real regulation of the combustion is not possible because there is no feedback by means of which the actual quality of combustion is taken into account.
In order to enable such regulation of the combustion, a concept is known for such heaters, which uses the evaluation of the flame temperature in the burner. However, this concept has principally high measurements security and has therefore not prevailed until today. In the case of small stationary fires that run on gas a so-called SCOT method is known, in which a flame ionization signal is evaluated. This However, the method cannot be applied to heaters for mobile applications, because these are usually included liquid fuels are operated.
Therefore, it is common nowadays for heaters for mobile applications to have uncontrolled combustion be operated. However, if the combustion is uncontrolled, it is due to device-related tolerances (e.g. fluctuations in the output of the combustion air fan and the fuel pump) and changes in the environment conditions (e.g. air pressure, temperature or air pressure). In practice, this means that un Under certain circumstances, tolerances must be minimized and the heater must be set before commissioning. Further its operating range is severely restricted and a single heater type cannot generally be divided into different NEN installation positions can be arranged.
From DE 198 53 573 A1 a heater with a gas burner is known, in which An air quantity anemometer is provided as a target indicator for a gas control valve is. This is intended to be a larger one than a pneumatic gas-air network Modulation range for the gas burner to be adjustable. The anemometer is in a channel-shaped line for combustion air supply, so that the Air volume flow determined and the z. B. for a stoichiometric combustion required amount of gas supplied via an electrically controllable gas valve can be led. It is the same with heaters with a closed combustion chamber possible to place the anemometer probe in the exhaust gas path, provided that exactly the opening characteristic of the gas valve is known.
Aus DE 295 22 225 U1 ist eine Gasflammbehandlungsvorrichtung zur Erhöhung der Oberflächenenergie an zu beschichtenden Oberflächen bekannt, bei der eine Durchflussmengen-Messeinrichtung in einer Luftzuführleitung und eine Durch flussmengen-Messeinrichtung in einer Gaszuführleitung vorgesehen sind.DE 295 22 225 U1 discloses a gas flame treatment device for increasing of the surface energy on surfaces to be coated, in which a Flow rate measuring device in an air supply line and a through flow quantity measuring device are provided in a gas supply line.
The invention has for its object a heater of the aforementioned Art to improve so that the disadvantages mentioned above are overcome and In particular, controlled combustion is possible.
This object is achieved with a heater in which the Exhaust line is an exhaust gas mass that is operatively coupled to the control unit Current sensor is arranged and the control device is set up to the Be driven the burner in dependence on the two determined gas mass flows of Control combustion air and exhaust gas. Finally is the task also solved with a method in which the operation of the burner depending on the gas masses of combustion air and Exhaust gas is regulated.
The basic idea of the invention is that the two mass flows in the heater Differentiate me from combustion air and exhaust gas slightly because the gas mass of the Exhaust air contains not only the supplied combustion air but also the supplied fuel, even if it is burned. From the determined per time Unit-supported mass flow exhaust gas can be determined by comparison with the the mass flow of combustion air delivered per unit of time is actually based on the time unit supplied fuel mass or quantity can be inferred. at the same time is the combustion air mass or quantity actually supplied per unit of time knows, so that the composition of the combustion air / fuel mixture can be used as feedback on the actual quality of the combustion serving. The combustion can be based on the cause and the need be regulated fairly.
The controlled combustion control can tolerances of components of the Heater expanded and thus the heater overall cheaper getting produced. Elaborate setting procedures on combustion air blowers, combustion there is no need for a fabric pump and burner.
In addition, the heater according to the invention can be in almost any place and in any position in the vehicle be installed because existing restrictions due to the fuel supply have been lifted.
The heater according to the invention is generally less sensitive to changes in the environmental conditions gene, because these changes are made by the regulation of the combustion according to the invention in a simple manner equalized. This means that different operating heights with appropriate air can be used, especially when the air pressure changes pressure changes and also to react to more viscous fuel at low outside temperatures.
Another advantage of the invention is that sensors of the same type, namely two gas, are used to regulate the burner mass flow sensors can be used. This means that these sensors can be sold in large numbers and therefore cost-effectively buyers. Similar systems can also be used for the evaluation of the sensor signals become. In addition, the control algorithms are particularly simple due to the similar control variables.
Under certain circumstances, a flame detector can be dispensed with in the heating device according to the invention, where which in turn saves considerable costs.
Zeiteinheit zugeführter Brennstoffmasse (hier Dieselkraftstoff) verdeutlichen dies:
In an advantageous further development of the heating device according to the invention, the control device is set up to regulate the operation of the burner as a function of the difference between the two determined gas mass flows. This is based on the knowledge that the difference between the gas mass flows of exhaust gas and combustion air is generally a linear function of the heating output only, i.e. the difference depends on the actual fuel mass flow but not on the CO 2 content in the exhaust gas. The following calculated values at a partial load load level, ie with a constant fuel mass supplied per unit of time (here diesel fuel) illustrate this:
If the fuel mass supplied per unit of time is increased and the burner z. B. operated at full load, the following values result:
The difference between the measured exhaust gas mass flowing per unit of time and the combustion air mass is that according to a measure of the fuel mass supplied per unit of time.
In another advantageous development of the invention, the control device is set up to regulate the operation of the burner as a function of the quotient of the two determined gas mass flows. This type of control is based on the knowledge that the quotient of the two gas mass flows, exhaust gas and combustion air, depends on the actual CO 2 content in the exhaust gas, but not on the fuel mass flow. This is illustrated in the table below with the compared calculated values at partial load (TL) and full load (VL):
The quotient of the gas mass flows exhaust air and combustion air is therefore a measure of the CO 2 content of the exhaust gas and thus of the quality of the combustion.
In the heating device according to the invention, the control device is particularly advantageously set up to operate the burner as a function of the difference and at the same time the quotient of the two gas mass flows determined rules.
For this purpose, so-called miniaturized gas mass flow sensors, z. B. on a Pt1000 basis. These have an individual comparison (see below) one for the fiction adequate application. They are also characterized by a low electrical power recording and short response time and can be produced in large quantities very inexpensively.
The control device of the heating device according to the invention is also advantageously set up for the gas drives mass flow sensors in cyclical operation.
The heater to be controlled is only "long" compared to the heating-up time of a mass flow sensor sam "changing combustion. It is therefore sufficient if the two sensors from the control unit only at a certain cycle ten are queried, which significantly reduces the amount of data to be processed.
In addition, the effort for evaluating the data of the two gas mass flow sensors can alternate tiv or additionally reduced by the fact that the control device is set up so that it the gas mass flow controls sensors in multiplex mode. Thus, only one evaluation circuit is required for two gas mass flow sensors sary.
Furthermore, the heater is particularly inexpensive to manufacture if the gas mass flow sensors miniaturi based gas mass flow sensors, each with a heat-sensitive element and one in the flow direction of the gas are arranged behind the heating element. A so-called Pt1000-Ele ment can be used. The heating element is controlled so that its temperature by a predetermined value is above the temperature measured by the heat sensitive element. The power supplied to the heating element is then directly proportional to the gas mass flow.
In a further advantageous development of the heating device according to the invention, the control device is for this purpose set up, with the help of the heat-sensitive element of the miniaturized gas mass flow sensor, the tempe to determine the temperature of the combustion air or exhaust gas. Using the determined temperatures, for example, a wir deterioration in the efficiency of a heat exchanger downstream of the burner or a reduced fuel drove through deposits on the heat exchanger or the fuel supply line can be determined. Finally, too A distinction is made between types of fuel, such as diesel and PME, because they have different calorific values sen and thus with the same fuel mass supplied per unit of time to different differences between Ab lead gas and combustion air temperature. The temperature of the full-load exhaust gas is under otherwise identical conditions current from PME is approx. 20 ° C lower than that of the full-load exhaust gas flow from diesel.
The heater according to the invention is advantageously further developed in such a way that the control unit at can adjust the gas mass flow sensors during an operating state of the burner, in which the burner no fuel is supplied. This operating state results, for. B. when the combustion chamber of the heater to Be is flushed with air at the start of a starting sequence. The influence of physical substance properties, such as specific ones Density, heat capacity and thermal conductivity of the combustion air and the exhaust gas can, in addition to an adjustment, also at the evaluation of the measurement signals of the gas mass flow sensors are taken into account in the calculation.
To further increase the measuring accuracy of the gas mass flow sensors, the adjustment can be performance levels of the heater. For example, during the comparison of the two Gas mass flow sensors controlled a blower in the combustion air line in different load conditions.
Es zeigt:Below is an embodiment of a heater according to the invention with reference to the attached cal matical drawings explained in more detail. It shows:

Fig. 2 is a diagram of the relative change in the heat transfer coefficient on a Pt1000 element egg nes miniaturized exhaust gas mass flow meter depending on the CO 2 content of the exhaust gas.
The heater 10 shown in FIG. 1 has a burner 12 , to which fuel is supplied during operation by a fuel pump 14 and combustion air from a blower 16 . A control unit 18 is operatively coupled to the fuel pump 14 and the blower 16 , to which two gas mass flow meters 20 and 22 are also connected. From the gas mass flow sensors 20 and 22 , the sensor 20 is arranged as a combustion air mass flow sensor in a combustion air line 24 leading from the surrounding combustion air to the burner 12 , while the sensor 22 is mounted as an exhaust gas mass flow sensor in an exhaust gas line 26 leading from the burner 12 into the environment. By means of the gas mass flow sensors 20 and 22 , the masses of combustion air and exhaust gas that actually flow in the lines 24 and 26 per unit of time are determined and the combustion in the burner 12 is regulated as a function of these values.
meln I bzw.
ses:
At the beginning of a starting phase of the heater 10 , the blower 16 is first activated so that it flushes the burner 12 with ambient air, the fuel pump 14 not delivering any fuel. During the starting phase, who reads the signals from the gas mass flow sensors 20 and 22 in the control unit 18 and compared them. The burner 12 is then ignited and runs in part-load or full-load operation. The control unit 18 now checks in multiplex mode, ie alternately but immediately one after the other, the signals of the two gas mass flow sensors 20 and 22 . The control unit 18 determines from the signals the difference and the quotient of the masses of combustion air or exhaust gas flowing per unit of time in lines 24 and 26 and determines the fuel mass actually supplied per unit of time and the actual CO according to the two following formulas I and II 2 -Exhaust gas content:
- A) Brennstoffmasse = Funktion von (Abgasmasse - Brennluftmasse);A) Fuel mass = function of (exhaust gas mass - combustion air mass);
- B) CO2-Gehalt = Funktion von (Abgasmasse/Brennluftmasse).B) CO 2 content = function of (exhaust gas mass / combustion air mass).
On the basis of this determination, the control unit controls the fuel pump 14 and the blower 16 in order to achieve optimal combustion in the burner 12 .
The gas mass flow sensors 20 and 22 used on the heater 10 are so-called miniaturized sensors, each with a heat-sensitive element and a heating element arranged behind it in the flow direction of the respective gas masses. The electrical power consumption of these sensors is less than 5 watts. The heat-sensitive element is a Pt1000 element, which can also be exposed to temperatures of 600 ° C without damage. The heating element is controlled by the control unit 18 such that its temperature is a certain delta above the temperature measured by the Pt1000 element. The power supplied to the heating element is then directly proportional to the respective gas mass flow.
In the case of the exhaust gas mass flow, the amount of CO 2 contained in the exhaust gas has a minor effect on the heat transfer coefficient at the Pt1000 element and thus on the signal from this miniaturized sensor. The effect is illustrated in Fig. 2. However, it is relatively low and, based on an average CO 2 content of 10.3% in the CO 2 range relevant for heating devices of 7.0% to 13.5%, only leads to a relative deviation of at most plus or minus 1.5 %. Since the deviation follows a regularity, it can be taken into account when evaluating the sensor signal.
The control unit 18 is also set up to determine the temperature of the combustion air or the exhaust gas with the aid of the Pt1000 elements. Based on these temperatures, a long-term diagnosis of the heater can be performed by z. B. the efficiency of a burner 12 downstream, not shown Wärmetau shear or the fuel supply by means of the fuel pump 14 is monitored. If the absolute temperatures of the exhaust gas change relative to the combustion air, this allows conclusions to be drawn about deposits in the heat exchanger or changes in the fuel supply. Finally, the control unit 18 can also recognize if the heater 10 is supplied with the wrong fuel, for example diesel instead of PME, because this leads to a deviation in the difference between the exhaust gas and combustion air temperature of approximately 20 ° C. with the same fuel mass supplied per unit of time.
The difference in calorific value per unit of mass or per unit volume is relatively high for different fuels compared to their density, as the following table shows:
The advantages mentioned lead to permanently optimally controlled combustion in the heater, at a cost savings and also open up new market opportunities for existing heaters that the independently existing Additional expenses for the second gas mass flow sensor can more than compensate.
