Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a filler according to the preamble of Claim 1.
A generic filler is from a lecture by Erik Sehnal "extrusion of natural fiber materials - a field with new opportunities" known, the "International Wood and Natural Fiber Composites Symposium rd 3" during the 19-20th September 2000 and published as a lecture manuscript. It is about the extrusion of compounds with a very high degree of filling of 70 to 90% of natural fibers, which are in the form of pellets and processed in a conical twin-screw extruder. However, details about the pellets are just as little disclosed as the publication of Wolfgang Breuning's lecture documents "Tool technology of extrusion tools for fiber materials" from the same event.
thermoplastischem Kunststoff 40 bis 80% langgestreckter Holzpartikel, also
- - a compounder working at low pressure
- - A rotating displacement pump, which further promotes the plastic mixture
- - a distributor head
- - an orientation facility
- - An essentially prismatic shaped head, the longitudinal direction of which corresponds to the preferred direction of the particles and which is so long and which has such a temperature profile in the longitudinal direction that the product at the mouth has cooled below its VICAT softening temperature.
The fibers can be wood fibers made of softwood or hardwood and with other fibers, especially silicate fibers or Glass fibers, and there can also be other cellulose-based reinforcing fibers be present, such as B. flax and hemp. Chemical additives are also intended to improve product properties.
The expenditure on equipment, in particular in the form of the special Additional devices for providing the highly filled plastic body is here considerably.
The invention has for its object to provide a highly filled molding compound to provide less effort, but still comparable Possesses product properties.
This object is achieved by a filler according to claim 1.
It was found that the introduction of the wood fibers in the form of a broken pellets existing granules a significant improvement enables the homogeneous distribution of the fibers in the plastic mass. The for other purposes, e.g. B. for burning purposes, known pellets of this type are very firm and often have highly compressed and compressed surfaces horny zones. This is desirable for the burning function, because the Fuel pellets should not disintegrate in the furnace, but constantly from the outside in burn down. The pellets according to the invention differ from this in that it is not under very high pressure, but under the aspect an immediate disintegration are pelletized. The cohesion will not primarily due to high compression pressure, but at least for Part by the admixture of what acts as a binder at most 20% share of thermoplastic ensures what a Reduction of pelletizing pressure allowed. The pressure values are clear among those who, for. B. come into use with the fuel pellets. The With the help of plastic, material should just go so far stick together that trouble-free handling while at the same time thorough Redispersibility is guaranteed. By breaking up the pellets the hardened surface zones, if any, perforated and the filler also offers inner areas of the pellets that are not heavily compressed and therefore more willing to use the Mix the plastic of the molding compound. As a result, they lose shell-shaped more compressed and horny outer zones support and also pass more easily into the molding compound in a homogeneous distribution. The average particle size of the broken granules can e.g. B. about 3 mm be. The defined dimensioning of the fiber lengths of the Starting material, d. H. of the fibers in the pellets leaves only the reinforcing ones Fibers in the mix. The moisture content of the fibers is particularly important in the pellets. The moisture evaporates suddenly when it comes into contact with the hot form, e.g. B. with the extruder, and unfolds a redispersion promoting explosive effect. The invention has also been shown to do so needless to submit the entire molding compound in the form of a compound. Rather, plastic, e.g. B. polypropylene, and filler separately and at the same time, e.g. B. entered into an extruder without Mixing problems occur.
The pellets can be produced in that the wood fiber mass through a perforated nozzle and the resulting strands of about 4 to 8 mm Diameter cut to a length of about 5 to 20 mm.
In the invention, redispersion, i.e. H. the even distribution of the filler initially concentrated in the pellets, through a special Design of the properties of these pellets promoted and in the case of Extruding the extruder relieved part of this task. The below from the point of view of redispersion, the residence time required Molding material in the extruder can be shortened. Among other things, through the reduced redispersion times of the filler according to the invention The cycle times also decrease with other molding processes, with this also the high filling levels achievable and processable with the invention play an essential role in the rapid solidification of the extrudate or rapid demoldability during pressing and spraying to have.
The thermoplastic used in the manufacture of the pellets can with that used in the manufacture of the actual molded body Plastic match which will be the preferred way of working. However, this is not mandatory, because it can be both another thermoplastic are used as well as for the molded body Duroplast processed.
The filler having the features a) to g) is high Free flowing and good dosing properties.
The natural cellulose-based fibers are primarily intended for wood fibers be (claim 2). However, other fibers such as sisal, hemp, various types of straw and the like.
The removal of the fines according to claim 3 promotes Redispersibility of the filler and concentrates the load on the molding materials Filler on those parts that can contribute a reinforcing effect.
The broken, ready-to-use granulate can according to claim 4 before Add a medium one to the extruder or other mold Have particle size of about 2 to 10 mm. This particle size is too differ from the length of the individual fibers in the pellets or Granules.
According to claim 5, the granules can in particular have a moisture content of about 8%, which is sufficient support in practice Redispersion results without being close to the limit moisture content of 12% to come, above which z. B. an extruder due to excessive Water vapor formation can no longer be operated satisfactorily.
According to claim 6, the moisture content of the pellets can already be in the forming fibers are present or according to claim 7 by a subsequent moistening of the finished pellets can be achieved.
The liquid resulting in the moisture can according to claim 8 from water and a pelletizing aid.
The fibers can be selected according to claim 9 in a mixture Fiber length ranges of fractionated components are available.
According to claim 10, such a mixture, for example Fiber components with average fiber lengths of about 150 to 300 microns, about 800 to Include 2000 microns and / or from about 2000 to 6000 microns.
According to claim 11, the wood fibers, if such are used, preferably softwood fibers because softwood is easier to shred as hardwood.
The wood fibers are preferably obtained by fibrillating wood (Claim 12).
It is recommended according to claim 13 that the filler processing and / or promoting the use properties of the finished molding composition Contains additives in the form of powder or liquid additives. You can z. B. couplers, lubricants, antioxidants, UV stabilizers, Flame retardants, impact modifiers and the like.
As thermoplastics that act as binders in the filler, come in particular the types specified in claim 14 into consideration.
According to claim 15, it may be sufficient if the thermoplastic Plastics only in a weight proportion of at most 20%, based on the amount of fibers present.
The filler according to the invention is for further processing produced molding compound provided by extrusion, pressing or spraying (Claims 16, 17 and 18).
An important aspect of the invention is the high degree of filling of the manufactured Molding compound or the corresponding molded body. According to claim 19 or 20, the filler should have a fill level of at least 70%, preferably even of more than 80% corresponding amount.
Claim 21 relates to special exemplary embodiments using molded articles produced using the invention. In the case of relatively large moldings with dimensions of the order of up to approximately 1 m, which are subject to high mechanical stresses, the high dimensional rigidity and impact resistance of the moldings produced with the molding composition according to the invention come into play. The modulus of elasticity can be in the range from 3000 to 5000 N / mm 2. Drink crates and transport pallets are examples of such molded articles, in which the low weight in relation to strength also plays an important role. Another example is the plan view frame for mechanical screening. These plan view frames can be manufactured as molded parts, but also from extruded profiles that can be glued at the corners. The processing such. B. nailing the gauze works like wood. It is particularly advantageous, however, that a plan view frame according to the invention, even under extremely moist conditions, only accumulates with a maximum of 2% moisture and thereby remains dimensionally stable.
According to claim 22, the invention is also embodied in a method for the production of a shaped body in which the thermoplastic Plastic with the filler together in a conical Twin screw extruder entered and the mixture in the twin screw extruder homogenized, plasticized and into a strand-shaped molded body is extruded.
In a further embodiment according to claim 23, the thermoplastic in granulate or powder form with filler according to one of the Claims 1 to 15 mixed together and this mixture in one Pellet press plasticized and processed into homogeneous pellets, which for the Processing in commercially available plastic molding machines such as injection molding machines or extruders are suitable.
In the drawing are made with the molding composition of the invention exemplary moldings reproduced.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine perspektivische Ansicht eines extrudierten Hohlkammer-Profils für Innenausbauzwecke; Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing an extruded hollow chamber profile for interior finishing purposes;
Fig. 2 zeigt eine perspektivische Ansicht eines gespritzten Getränkekastens; Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of an injection molded beverage crate;
Fig. 3 zeigt eine Unteransicht einer gepreßten Transportpalette; Fig. 3 shows a bottom view of a pressed transport pallet;
FIG. 4 shows a cross section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
The representation of the extruded profile 10 in FIG. 1 shows approximately the natural size of the profile 10 with its two mutually parallel hollow chambers 1 , 2 of approximately rectangular cross section, as well as the wall thickness. The rigidity of this profile 10 can be characterized in that it is not possible to bring about any recognizable deformations by hand on a profile piece of a length of about 30 cm. In one embodiment, the modulus of elasticity is 4500 N / mm 2 . The appearance of the profile 10 is similar to that of wood, the surface is very smooth.
The crate 20 of FIG. 2 are the side lengths of the floor plan, and the height is about cm in the range of 30 to 50. The design in detail can be very different, but the breaking and wear resistance of such a beverage crate 20 , which is subjected to a rather rough treatment during transport, is very considerable and is significantly higher than the corresponding values of the conventional plastic crates.
A particular advantage of the invention lies in the fact that a molded body such as the beverage crate 20 can be produced by spraying in spite of the high degree of filling of the order of 80% and more.
This also applies to the transport pallet 30 of FIGS. 3 and 4, the rectangular plan of which has a length of the longer side of the order of 1 m.
The transport pallet 30 also has a low weight and a considerable resistance to rough stress.
