Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a measuring device for the flow rate of a gas according to the preamble of claim 1.
Die Koagulation mittels eines Argon-Plasmas ist in dem Aufsatz von G. Farm, K. E. Grund, "Technology of Argon Plasma Coagulation with particular regard to endoscopic application", Endoscopic Sur gery and Technologies, No 1, Vol. 2, 1994, S. 71-77, beschrieben. In high-frequency surgery, plasma surgery is a very special application. Here, a high-frequency electrical alternating current is conducted through an electrically conductive gas onto a biological tissue to be treated. Plasma is used as an electrically conductive gas. The plasma of a noble gas, for example argon or helium, is preferably used here. Coagulation using an argon plasma is described in the article by G. Farm, KE Grund, "Technology of Argon Plasma Coagulation with particular regard to endoscopic application", Endoscopic Sur gery and Technologies, No 1 , Vol. 2, 1994, p. 71-77.
The above-mentioned monatomic noble gases, such as argon or heli um, are regarding their various physical Properties used, for example due to their chemi neutrality, which is particularly important in plasma surgery plays an important role. Ionizing is equally important unlike polyatomic gases like oxygen, Nitrogen or carbon dioxide or mixtures of different multi-atomic gases like air is significantly better.
A known device for plasma surgery has one Noble gas source, a high frequency generator and an Appli kator on. The high frequency generator ionizes this on the one hand Noble gas electrically and on the other hand delivers a highly fre quent electrical alternating current, which is used for surgical a handles is used. The hochfre quente electrical alternating current through the electrically ioni inert gas on a biological tissue to be operated on applied.
The applicator usually comprises a flexible tube or a hose through which the noble gas in the form of a gas stream mes is directed at a certain flow rate. A flow rate as constant as possible is for a uniform Coagulation of the biological tissue is particularly important.
A flow sensor can be used to measure the flow rate placed in the tube or hose, the Flow rate measures and a corresponding electrical measurement signal generated. The measurement signal can be used to display the measured flow rate and / or to regulate the flow rate, serve for example by means of a valve. The disadvantage is however, that a conventional flow sensor is only a very small area of high sensitivity and / or measurement accuracy has. In particular have inexpensive flow sensors often a very small measurement window in which the exact measurement values of the flow rate can be achieved. Outside the measurement Window measurement results, however, are too imprecise to for example for regulating the flow rate to be able to.
The present invention is therefore based on the object a measuring device for the flow rate of a gas, esp to propose especially for use in plasma surgery, which with a relatively simple structural design sufficiently accurate measurement of the flow rate of the gas over allows the largest possible measuring range.
This task is accomplished by a measuring device with the characteristics len solved according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments of the Measuring device result from the dependent claims.
The invention is based on the idea of at least two streams mung sensors with different measurement characteristics for measurement solution of the flow rate of a gas in a flow space provided. Each of the sensors preferably covers egg NEN different measuring range. This enables the on set of inexpensive flow sensors, in their respective Measure the current measuring range precisely.
In a device for the flow rate according to the invention a gas, especially for use in plasma surgery, are at least a first and at least a second Flow sensor arranged in a flow space. The min The first flow sensor has a first one, in particular progressive measurement characteristic and is preferably for measurement of a first gas flow rate range. The at least second flow sensor has a second, of which first different characteristic curve, in particular de is gressive on. It is preferably for measuring a two th gas flow rate range formed. As flow For example, sensors can be flow meters like an orifice or dynamic pressure meter or thermal mass flow meter like a hot wire anemometer or a calorimetric sensor be used.
The first and second flow sensors preferably cover different measuring accuracy and sensitivity ranges from. In other words, the flow sensors complement each other to a measuring device which is a compared to a individual flow sensor with a relatively wide measuring range has high accuracy and high sensitivity.
The at least first flow sensor preferably has a high sensitivity and accuracy with a small, min least second flow sensor high sensitivity and Accuracy at a large gas flow rate.
The at least first flow sensor can differ from the minimum distinguish at least second flow sensor in the measuring principle. For example, a flow sensor based on the principle of Back pressure measurement with a calorimetric principle based flow sensor can be combined. Depending on, in which gas flow rate range the corresponding flow mung sensor is to be used, it can be used for the appropriate gas flow rate range most suitable flows tion sensor can be used for measuring.
Alternatively, first and second flow sensors can also be formed for the application of the same measuring principle. You under then differ in particular through their measurement window in which they can take accurate measurements; d. H. specifically that the first flow sensors for measuring a first flow mation rate and the second flow sensors for measuring egg ner second flow rate different from the first are trained.
Preferably, the at least second flow sensor can sensors as a bypass in the at least first stream mung sensor be formed with the bypass or the Bypass is preferably operated at high flow rates. This embodiment is particularly inexpensive because it ster and a second flow sensor in principle by one single sensor can be realized, the measuring range by the bypass or bypass preferably to large flow guess is customizable.
In a preferred embodiment, an evaluation is direction to process the flow sensors witnessed electrical measurement signals provided. The evaluations device chooses depending on a predeterminable current the measurement signal of the at least one first or second flow sensor to determine the gas flow guess in the flow space. This means that the evaluation direction based on the one supplied by the flow sensors Measurement signals determines which of the flow sensors to measure solution should be used.
In a development of the measuring device, a rule can direction should be provided, which the gas flow rate in Flow space depending on the selected measurement signal regulates.
In addition, but also instead of selecting a measurement signal can an evaluation device for processing the Flow sensors provided electrical signals provided be the measurement signals for determining the gas Flow rate in the flow space added. From this a Li approximation of the total measuring characteristic of the measuring device right sultieren. This causes an improvement, especially an Er increase in sensitivity and / or accuracy of measurements.
A warning device is also preferably provided che the measurement signals generated by the flow sensors kor and if one of the measurement signals deviates from the Measurement characteristic of the corresponding flow sensor a warning generated. Should the flow rate of the gas flow in the Flow space that covered by the flow sensors Leaving the measuring range, measurement deviations usually occur conditions that can be signaled by the warning signal. Preferably, the warning device can therefore in the event of a deviation Chen one of the measurement signals from the measurement characteristic of the correspond flow sensor to block the flow space Interrupt gas flow.
The deviation of a measurement signal from the measurement characteristic of the ent speaking flow sensor can also be used to determine the Gases are used in the flow space. It works then particularly good if the probability of errors in the flow sensors is very low or this error be determined in a different way. Insbeson In this case, a gas detection device can be used the deviation of a measurement signal automatically determines the gas men. Finally, the measuring device is preferably part of egg ner device for plasma surgery.
Diese zeigen inAn embodiment of the invention is now based on the Described drawings. These show in
Fig. 1 ein Ausführungsbeispiel einer Meßvorrichtung gemäß der Erfindung und Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a measuring device according to the invention and
Fig. 2 shows the characteristic curves of the flow sensors of the measuring device shown in Fig. 1.
In Fig. 1, a first flow sensor 10 and a second flow sensor 12 are arranged one behind the other in the flow direction of a gas indicated by the arrow 30 in a flow space 14 in the form of a channel. The flow sensors 10 and 12 can be, for example, hot-wire or thin-film anemometers. The flow sensor provided for low flow rates or velocities will preferably be a differential anemometer. The advantage of the like anemometers is that they directly generate an electrical signal for evaluation by means of an electronic device.
The first flow sensor 10 has a first measurement characteristic 16 , the course of which is shown in FIG. 2. The measurement characteristic is progressive, ie the strength of a signal emitted by the flow sensor 10 increases progressively with the amount or mass of gas flowing past the sensor, and thus the flow rate. In contrast to this, the second flow sensor 12 has a degressive characteristic - as shown in the diagram on the right in FIG. 2. According to this degressive characteristic curve 18 , the strength of a signal emitted by the second flow sensor 12 increases disproportionately with an increasing gas flow, that is to say the gas quantity or mass flowing past the sensor. Thus, the first flow sensor 10 is designed for larger, the second flow sensor 12 for smaller flow rates. The characteristic curve 16 of the first flow sensor essentially corresponds to the measurement characteristic curve of a differential pressure measurement. A degressive characteristic curve 18 of the second flow sensor 12 typically has a calorimetric sensor.
The electrical signals 11 and 13 emitted by the two flow sensors are fed to an evaluation device 20 . Furthermore, a signal 22 is supplied to this, which corresponds to a predeterminable gas flow rate. This prescribable gas flow rate is determined from the critical gas flow rates of the flow sensors 10 and 12 for the respective gas in the flow space 14 .
For this purpose, it is determined for each flow sensor 10 and 12 at which gas flow rate they have the same sensitivity and / or accuracy despite different characteristic curves 16 and 18 . Corresponding to the determined gas flow rates for the two flow sensors 10 and 12 , two characteristic signal strengths result which are determined by two threshold values in the evaluation device 20 via the signal 22 .
The evaluation device 20 now selects the supplied signal 11 or 13 of the flow sensors 10 or 12 for evaluation, which is larger or smaller than the respective gas flow rate. In other words, the flow sensor is selected for the measurement, the determined critical flow rate of which is closer to the actually measured gas flow rate in the flow channel 14 .
The measurement signal 11 or 13 thus selected is fed from the evaluation device 20 to a control device 24 which is provided for controlling the flow rate in the flow space 14 . This derives a control signal 25 from the supplied signal, which controls the position of a throttle valve 32 in the flow channel 14 . The flow rate of the gas in the flow channel 14 can be adjusted by means of the throttle valve 32 . The control signal 25 is derived in accordance with a predetermined control algorithm in the control device 24 from the signal supplied by the evaluation device 20 .
The measurement signals 11 and 13 of the flow sensors 10 and 12 are also fed to a warning device 26 . This signaled via a warning lamp 28 that one of the measurement signals 11 and 13 deviated from the measurement characteristic of the corresponding flow sensor 10 or 12 . In addition, the Warnein 26 generates a warning signal device 27, which may interrupt the gas flow in the Strö mung space 14, by bringing the throttle valve 32 in the flow chamber 14 in a blocking position, in which the flow space 14 blocked.
