Description
The invention relates to an arrangement of sound transducers for smoothing the frequency characteristic with simultaneous expansion of the transmission range over 8000 Hz. with an or several funnels arranged in front of the membrane, which into an air chamber located in front of the membrane open, especially for Taudhspulenmi-kröphone.
It is already known to provide microphones with a short horn input, whereby reached a speed transformation and that Frequency band was expanded after the higher frequencies. The aim of the invention is to reduce the frequency and To improve the directional characteristic in the entire frequency range and is essentially limited as a result draws that the lower cutoff frequency of the funnel (s) is approximately the same as the resonance frequency of the as Helmholtz resonator designed air chamber coincides with the removal of the funnel or the Funnel from the sufficiently low, the vibration freedom the membrane still permitting air chamber and the narrow connection opening for the or the funnel is formed. The height of the air chamber is sufficiently low and the opening is sufficient closely designed in order to achieve a smoothing of the frequency curve with the help of air friction.
Further features of the invention are evident from the following description in conjunction with the drawing refer to.
Fig. 1 zeigt die Impedanzku.rven zweier verschiedener Trichterformen. Fig. 1 shows the impedance curves of two different funnel shapes. The exponential funnel a forms a sharp cut-off frequency at the mouth opening (the small end), which results from the increase in cross-section and the size of the outlet opening. The cone funnel does not have a sharply defined cut-off frequency, as FIG. 1 b shows. The funnel placed in front of the membrane according to the invention has very small dimensions, the mouth opening of which is smaller than the area of the membrane, so that an air chamber is formed in front of the membrane.
DieIn Fig. 2, an embodiment of the invention is shown. The membrane with the mass M and the stiffness D is closed at the rear from the outside air. At the front, a funnel with the impedance Z is coupled to the membrane to form an air chamber with the stiffness D 1. If the funnel is removed, as shown in FIG. 3, a Helmholtz resonator is created with the mass M 1 of the opening and the restoring force D 1 of the chamber. If the chamber is sufficiently low and the opening is narrow, the frequency curve is smoothed as a result of the air friction. However, an annoying phenomenon occurs. The frequency curve shows a strong drop above the resonance frequency of the Helmholtz resonator. This is illustrated in FIG. 4. the

The dotted curve corresponds to the frequency characteristics of the microphone with a free membrane front.
The solid curve, on the other hand, arises with the attachment of a Helmholtz resonator according to FIG. 3. The air chamber D 1 cannot be made arbitrarily low because the membrane must be sufficiently free from vibrations.
Unterhalb der Grenzfrequenz des Trichters bleibt nur der Reibungswiderstand in der niederen Luftkammer und in der Mundöffnung des Trichters wirksam, wodurch die Glättung der Frequenzkurve unterhalb der Grenzfrequenz des Trichters erreichtIf, according to the invention, a funnel according to FIG. 2 is placed at the opening of the Helmholtz resonator, whose increase in cross section and outlet opening is dimensioned so that its lower limit frequency approximately with the resonance frequency of the Helmholtz resonator with the funnel removed corresponds, then the dashed curve is produced according to FIG. 5. This curve allows the smoothing of the frequency characteristic and recognize the expansion of the transmission frequency range. For comparison, the curves of FIG. 4 are also shown in FIG. 5. The expansion of the frequency range after the high frequencies is based on the effect of the small Funnel, which strengthens the coupling of the membrane with the sound field in the range of high frequencies. Below the limit frequency of the funnel, only the frictional resistance remains in the lower one Air chamber and effective in the mouth opening of the funnel, thereby smoothing the frequency curve reached below the cutoff frequency of the funnel

For the dimensions usual for microphones, the Helmholtz resonance frequency is relatively high, see above that the funnel is very short and its cross-section increases very quickly. In a practical The design had the mouth opening of the funnel with a membrane diameter of 27 mm a diameter of 4 mm, the outlet opening a diameter of 18 mm and the funnel one Length of 8 mm.
In Fig. 6 a practical embodiment of a moving coil microphone according to the invention is shown. The membrane 9 with plunger coil 10 is attached to the magnet system. This consists of the front Pole plate 11, the rear pole plate 12, the bolt 13 and the permanent magnet 14. In front of the membrane a rotary body 15 is attached so that a lower air chamber 16 is created in front of the membrane. An opening 17 leads from this chamber into the funnel 18 of the rotating body 15.
Fig. 7 zeigt ein weiteres Ausführungsbeispiel eines Tauchspulenmikrophons. Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment of a moving coil microphone. In front of the membrane 19 is a Number of funnels 20 connected to form a lower air chamber 21 in front of the membrane. at With this arrangement, the radial position of the funnel results in a spatial widening of the radiation angle of the microphone in the high frequency range. The dimensioning takes place here so that the calculation is based on the sum of the funnel inlet opening.
