Description
The invention relates to a plastic element with a fibrous coating according to the preamble of patent claim 10.
Weiter betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Erzeugung einer faserhaltigen Beschichtung auf der Oberfläche eines Kunststoffelements gemäß dem Patentanspruch 1.Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing a fibrous coating on the surface of a plastic element according to claim 1.
Plastic elements of the type in question are used in a variety of different applications. Fiber-containing, in particular fleece-like coatings of plastic parts, for example, be considered where particularly high demands on resistance, abrasion resistance, grip, skid resistance or in terms of a special appearance or a particularly natural appearance. A fiber-containing, in particular fleece-like coating can be applied to almost all types of plastic parts from almost any plastic materials. For example, by applying a fibrous coating on the surface of hard plastic parts grip, feel and ergonomics of such plastic parts can be improved, but it can just as well elastic or soft plastic parts, especially plastic parts made of soft foam materials, be equipped with such fibrous coatings. Such a coating of soft foam-like plastic parts is suitable, for example, if moldings produced from soft foam-like materials are to be provided with a resistant surface. This is all the more true if, for example due to complicated shaped boundaries or in the presence of concave or spherically curved surfaces, coating of a soft foam-like plastic part with a textile or leather-like covering material is out of the question.
It is known to provide plastic elements with a fibrous coating after the Urformung of the plastic element is completed; In other words, the plastic elements are formed, for example, by injection molding or by foaming from a starting material and after demolding, in the cooled or solidified state, provided on its surface with a fibrous coating. Since according to the prior art a fiber-containing coating is applied to the plastic element in the already cooled or solidified state of the plastic element, however, an intimate and firm connection of the coating with the plastic element can no longer or no longer be readily achieved. This is particularly disadvantageous in the case of a fleece-like coating or flocking of the surface of a plastic element, since this type of coating is particularly susceptible to damage or abrasion due to its structure consisting of short fibers standing substantially perpendicular to the surface of the plastic element.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a fibrous coating on the three-dimensionally spatially shaped surface of a plastic molded part, wherein the fiber-containing coating is still to be produced in the production mold, so that after demolding already finished flocked components are obtained. This object is achieved by a method having the features of patent claim 1.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a three-dimensionally spatially shaped plastic element with a fibrous coating in which a particularly intimate and almost insoluble composite of the fibrous coating is present with the material of the plastic part and the particularly high demands on abrasion resistance, resistance and respect a lasting new-look external appearance.
This object is achieved by a plastic element having the features of patent claim 10.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung sind jeweils Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The plastic element of the invention comprises, in a manner known per se, a fibrous coating covering at least parts of its surface. Length, arrangement, orientation and material of the fibers and the thickness of the coating are initially not essential to the invention; However, coatings which have a fleece-like character or a velvet-like appearance are particularly suitable.
Such coatings are often produced by fiber spraying or by electrostatic flocking. In contrast to the prior art, however, the plastic element according to the present invention is characterized in that the fiber-containing coating of the surface of the plastic element not known in the prior art, only applied to the surface of the plastic element and, for example by means of a binder with the surface of the Plastic element is connected or bonded, but that at least a portion of the fibers contained in the coating adhesively and / or materially connected directly to the near-surface material of the plastic part or material and / or form-fitting embedded in near-surface material of the plastic part. A directly without further binder or adhesive connected to the material of the plastic part or partially embedded in the material of the plastic part fiber-containing coating is naturally very intimately connected to the material of the plastic element and in contrast to the known, merely adhesively bonded by means of coatings almost insoluble with the Plastic part connected.
In order to further improve the resistance of such a formed fibrous coating of a plastic element, it is provided according to a preferred embodiment of the invention that the layered fiber arrangement on the surface of the plastic element further comprises a binder of a polymerizable or fusible material or provided with such a binder becomes. By polymerizing or melting the binder contained in the layered fiber arrangement or in the fiber-containing coating can be achieved that the fibers of the fiber-containing coating not only particularly intimately connected to the material of the plastic element, but also by the binder also in particular firmly.
From which starting material the plastic element is, according to the invention completely indifferent. However, a plastic element formed according to the invention may in particular also consist of a material which has hitherto been difficult or impossible to provide with a permanent fibrous coating, as for example in the case of plastics from the group of polyolefins and in particular plastic elements made of soft foam material, for example polyurethane foam , the case is. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention is therefore intended that the plastic element consists essentially of weichschaumartigem material, in particular of a foamed polyurethane material. Flexible foam-like plastic elements, in particular the foam moldings made of polyurethane compositions are widely used as components of upholstery arrangements for seats, for example for seats of motor vehicles use. It is therefore provided according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention that the plastic element according to the invention is a foam molding, which may form part of a cushion arrangement, in particular for a vehicle seat.
Padding arrangements for vehicle seats today often consist of a plurality of functional layers of different materials, which have to fulfill different functional and microclimatic tasks and therefore have different permeability, strength and elasticity properties. In order to avoid unwanted interactions between the various layers of a pad assembly for a motor vehicle seat, which include unwanted moisture or air exchange, but also unwanted noise such as squeaking, or to protect sensitive soft foam layers from mechanical influences by, for example, metal inserts or springs, it has been often necessary to arrange separately for production or preforming additional intermediate layers or nonwovens between the various layers of a cushion assembly for a motor vehicle seat. With this background, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the fiber-containing coating according to the invention of a plastic element, in particular of a foam molding, replaces such intermediate layers in a cushion arrangement.
It is particularly often necessary for plastic elements made of foamed material and soft foam moldings to achieve the necessary functional properties, in particular for the achievement of a certain strength and dimensional stability, foamed plastic elements or flexible foam moldings with additional Stiffening elements or reinforcing arrangements, for example, with support shells for upholstery for motor vehicle seats to provide, for example, to be able to initiate the force acting on a cushion element weight and acceleration forces in the seat frame of a vehicle seat. However, the provision and assembly of such additional foam assembly reinforcement assemblies is labor intensive and costly. Therefore, according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the fibrous coating of a plastic element according to the invention simultaneously forms a reinforcing arrangement for a foam molding and thus partially or completely replaced previously necessary reinforcements or support shells for foam moldings. Another advantage of integrally formable reinforcements of foam moldings is when used in the field of seat upholstery in the thus opened simple yet effective handle to fix the foam moldings during the complicated cushioning process on a support structure, whereby the upholstery process is facilitated and accelerated and thereby also the Improve the quality of the upholstery produced in this way.
For example, in mechanically stressed surfaces of plastic elements, according to a further embodiment of the invention, one or more further coating layers or one or more further fiber-containing coatings are applied to the fibrous coating of a plastic element according to the invention, in particular serve additional protective purposes or fulfill as oberschicht also surface decorative tasks , The application of several layers of fiber-containing coatings on a plastic element can be carried out either as described according to the invention already in the original molding of the plastic element, or in a well-known manner after solidification and demolding of the plastic element subsequently.
The layer thickness and material composition of the fibrous coating of a plastic element according to the invention is indifferent so long as the purpose to be achieved, such as reinforcement, improved grip or surface stiffening can be achieved. However, the fiber-containing coating of a plastic element according to the invention preferably has a layer thickness of 0.1 mm to 5 mm, more preferably the layer thickness is between 0.5 mm and 3 mm. This layer thickness range covers most applications, starting with the improvement of feel or feel through the reinforcement of the surface and increasing the abrasion resistance, to the shell-like stiffening of the surfaces of foam moldings. In principle, any organic, mineral or metal-containing fiber materials are suitable for coating a plastic element according to the invention, but fibers of polyamide and / or polyester materials are preferred.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the fiber-containing coating of a plastic element according to the invention at least partially fibers and / or binder whose material has a certain electrical conductivity. In this way, the fiber-containing coating is at least partially imparted the ability to conduct electrical currents, whereby, for example, the electrostatic properties of such coated plastic elements can be changed or whereby electrical currents for transmission of signals and / or electrical power through the fiber-containing coating of a plastic element according to the invention can be guided without the need for separate and, in particular, metallic line elements must be provided and laid.
Plastic elements are generally produced by a primary molding process using, for example, injection molds or foam molds in a corresponding injection molding or foaming process. Thus, the invention further relates to a method for producing a particularly intimately associated with the plastic element fiber-containing coating, such as a fleece-like flocking on at least parts of the surface of a plastic element.
In the method according to the invention, in a first method step, an auxiliary layer is applied at least to those areas of the surface of the production mold in which the plastic element is to receive a fiber-containing coating. In a further method step, a fiber-containing layer is applied to the auxiliary layer introduced into the production mold in these same areas. In a subsequent process step, the closed mold is filled with a polymer material. Thereafter, the solidification of the polymer material takes place in the production form, wherein an adhesive, positive and / or cohesive connection between the interface of the polymer material and the later plastic element side facing the fiber-containing layer is formed. In a further method step, the plastic element now provided with a fibrous coating is removed from the production mold.
According to the invention, the fiber-containing coating is thus particularly intimately connected to the material of the plastic element that the plastic material in molten or liquid Condition and already in the original molding of the plastic part with the first arranged in the manufacturing mold, the later fiber-containing coating forming layer-like fiber assembly comes into contact. In this way, the molten or liquid plastic can penetrate to a certain depth of the layered fiber arrangement applied to the surface of the production mold, whereby a not only adhesive, but also material or positive connection between the material of the plastic element and the fibrous coating, as well as a firm bond of the fibers with each other arises. Unquestionably, however, the method according to the invention is not limited to single-layer coatings. Rather, by repeatedly carrying out the first and / or further process steps, multilayer coatings of, for example, different materials or with different fiber geometry and / or fiber orientation can already be produced during the initial molding of the plastic element, wherein, of course, production of low-fiber or fiber-free intermediate or final layers is not possible is excluded.
From what material the auxiliary layer introduced into the production mold consists, in which way the auxiliary layer is introduced into the production mold and which layer thickness has the auxiliary layer introduced into the production mold, according to the invention is arbitrary so long as the auxiliary layer fulfills the purpose applied to the auxiliary layer to temporarily retain the fiber-containing layer after it has been applied, as well as during filling of the mold and during solidification of the polymer material on the surface of the production mold; and as long as the bonding forces between the mold surface and the fibrous layer applied by the auxiliary layer are smaller than the bonding forces between the solidified material of the plastic element and the fibrous coating of the plastic element.
According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, however, the auxiliary layer is formed by a mold release agent, in particular by a release wax. This is advantageous in that the use of a mold release agent in general is necessary anyway, making a further operation is unnecessary. In this case, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fiber-containing layer is introduced into the still wet auxiliary layer. The introduction of the fibrous layer in the auxiliary layer prior to complete evaporation of the solvent contained in the auxiliary layer formed for example by release wax has the advantage that the applied fibers are held in contact with the still wet auxiliary layer due to adhesion immediately in place and that at subsequent drying or solidification of the auxiliary layer a certain anchoring effect of the fibrous layer is achieved in the auxiliary layer. When using a separate mold release agent, it is also conceivable to use for the auxiliary layer materials that remain on the finished part and fulfill there functional tasks, such as binders, adhesion promoters or adhesives.
The manner in which the fibrous layer is applied to the auxiliary layer introduced into the production mold is according to the invention as long as desired, so that in particular the desired layer thickness in the range of preferably 0.5 mm to 3 mm can be achieved uniformly. Due to the particularly uniform application, it is provided according to a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention that the fiber-containing layer is applied without contact on the auxiliary layer, which can be done in particular by a fiber spraying or by means of an electrostatic coating process.
An electrostatic coating process is particularly advantageous when the fiber-containing layer, as provided according to an embodiment of the invention, consists essentially of short fibers, for example, have a length in the millimeter range. The short fibers are arranged according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in particular substantially perpendicular to the surface of the plastic element standing. The use of a per se known electrostatically assisted coating or flocking method results in the use of short fibers to the fact that the fibers repel each other due to their electrical charge, however, are attracted by the opposing polar surface, resulting in the desired uniform distribution of the fibers as well leads to an orientation of the fibers substantially perpendicular to the mold surface.
Es zeigt:In the following the invention with reference to only one embodiment illustrative drawings will be explained in more detail. It shows:

As a result, it becomes clear that a plastic element provided with a fibrous coating according to the invention, which can be produced, for example, by the likewise inventive method, offers itself for a multiplicity of applications in which a highly stressable and permanently resistant fibrous coating is required, also and especially in the Cases in which plastic elements have irregular or free-form surfaces that can not be provided with textile coatings.
