It is suggested to ensure dynamic compression in addition to the acquisition of the signal to perform a modulation analysis of the input signal lead and based on the result of the modulation analysis to adaptively vary the behavior of dynamic compression.
The object of the present invention is to process the signal processing in a hearing aid depending on the input signal to improve.
This task is solved by a processing method an input signal in a signal processing unit a hearing aid, with a signal analysis of the input signal nals and based on the result of the signal analysis Setting parameters of the signal processing unit, the least At least one element of the group: polar pattern, frequency gait, signal increase, choice of hearing program concern, be adjusted, the signal analysis being a modulation analysis includes.
Furthermore, the object is achieved by a circuit for Performing the method comprising signal analysis unit for modulation analysis of the input signal, a signal processing unit and a control unit for adaptation of setting parameters of the signal processing unit based on the result of the signal analysis of the input signal.
It is important for hearing aid users that speech signals are possible as good as possible from the hearing aid, so that they are the Hearing aid wearer can not only hear, but also understand. The advantage of the invention is that the modules tion analysis, in particular for recognizing and analyzing Speech signals is particularly suitable. Is by means of Modulation analysis speech in an input signal detec tiert, so according to the invention in the hearing aid is adjusted solution of the signal processing to this speech signal. About that In addition, using the modulation analysis Speech also recognize other signals and different from each other different types of sturgeon, such as music signals or signal mixes.
The modulation analysis in the sense of the invention can Modulation frequency analysis, an analysis of the modulation track tion, an analysis of the degree of modulation or any Combination of the aforementioned analysis methods include. In the Modulation frequency analysis are compared to the Sig slower fluctuations in the envelope of a Signal calculated. A measure of the change in the envelope is the modulation frequency. With a speech signal be the envelope roughly writes the outline of the maxima of the speech signal. Typically the envelope shows at Speech in the frequency range maxima at 2-8 Hz. These frequencies zen are characterized by the rhythm of the language, especially the Duration of words, syllables and phonemes, determined and both the sound of the voice as well as the spoken language almost independent. In contrast, include Störge mostly noises other modulation frequencies. So through the modulation analysis can be determined whether in a one signal signal is present. Be advantageous at Modulation analysis in addition to the modulation frequencies of individual Signals of the input signal also the mean modulation performance and the degree of modulation determined. The middle Modulation power is the over a defined time the relative power of the entire modulation signal while the degree of modulation is the ratio between maximum and the minimum output power of a signal This enables a better difference in particular different signals in an input signal are included. Knowing what signals in a Input signal are included, e.g. B. speech or interference signal, and become aware of the strength of these signals used in the hearing aid according to the invention, the Signal processing unit automatically to the so obtained Adapt insights.
In one embodiment of the invention, the Directional characteristic of the microphone system of the hearing aid fit. The microphone system of the hearing aid can consist of or consisting of a single adjustable directional microphone several microphones that form a directional microphone tems are interconnected. For example due to the modulation analysis speech and interference signals recognized simultaneously in the input signal, the Polar pattern can be adjusted so that from an omnidirectional reception to the reception in Blickrich device of the hearing aid wearer is switched.
In addition to changing the preferred direction of reception of a Directional microphone system can generally still be an adaptive Directional microphone can be switched on and / or off. Furthermore, with a directional microphone system, which directional characteristics different order, based on the result of the Signal analysis switched between different orders become.
In another embodiment of the invention, it is provided hen, based on the result of a signal analysis, the one Modulation analysis includes the frequency response of the signal adjust wear of the hearing aid. This can be for the case game in which speech and background noise come in at the same time an input signal is present, thereby executed who that signal components of the input signal in the for Spra important frequency range between 500 Hz and 4 kHz raised and signal components at lower and higher frequencies zen can be lowered.
In a further embodiment of the invention are under Inclusion of the results of the modulation analysis provided for noise reduction. So can different monaural or binaural algorithms for Noise reduction selected or switched on and off become. In addition, parameters of a Störge noise algorithm can be adjusted. This will be advantageous recognized noise based on the results of the modula tion analysis and the modulation power measurement in below different noise categories divided, the different categories different algorithms for Noise reduction or different parameter sets a noise algorithm are assigned.
Another embodiment of the invention provides that the result of the modulation analysis even with an automatic selection of the active hearing program is taken into account. Different hearing programs are usually for under different listening situations optimized. The modulation analysis allows a listening situation with a certain truth Probability to recognize and then possibly the set active hearing program.
Finally, in another embodiment, the inven provided, taking into account the result of the Modulation analysis an algorithm for signal boosting or turn off or adjust parameters of this algorithm sen. It is preferably an algorithm for voice enhancement. But also other signals, for example Music, can be recognized and raised compared to other signals be.
Those described in the various embodiments Responses to the result of the modulation analysis can both individually and in any combination leads. Both signal analysis and adaptation of setting parameters of the signal processing unit Because of the results of the signal analysis can be continuous respectively. However, it is also possible that a leap Adjustment of the setting parameters takes place. This is e.g. B. then the case if, based on the result of the signal analysis Hearing program is switched, which is usually a jump changes in a large number of setting parameters. But it is also possible to switch programs to the to determine the respective hearing situation and adapted parameters deviating parameters continuously to the determined Parameters.
In the invention, parameters are determined Signal processing unit of a hearing aid depending the result of a modulation analysis. The invention can to the extent that in addition to the Modulationana further analysis methods are included. Leave this can be roughly divided into two classes. For one, these are Analysis methods for examining temporal features, e.g. B. of Total level or the zero crossing rate, on the other hand this analysis methods that affect spectral features, e.g. B. the focus in the spectrum or the fundamental frequency.
According to a further embodiment of the present invention the input signals are processed in a signal processing Disassembled a plurality of frequency bands and the modulation pin lysis performed frequency band-related. Subsequently the frequency bands are put together again after amplification volume summarizes. This opens up the possibility of certain fre frequency bands or signal frequencies occurring therein selectively and to emphasize or reduce it in a mission-specific manner.
If necessary, different frequency bands can also be used Modulation analysis are summarized and based on of the results of the modulation analysis generated setting pa parameters of the signal processing unit also simultaneously act on several combined frequency bands. As well it is possible that the won in a frequency band Results of the modulation analysis to other friends impact reference bands.

In Fig. 1 shows a section of a speech signal of a female is shown. The modulation analysis calculates the slow fluctuations in the envelope of the signal. The envelope describes approximately the outline of the maxima of the speech signal. The modulation frequency is a measure of the change in the envelope.
Fig. 2 shows the spectrum of the modulation frequency with a typical course for speech, with a maximum in the range of 2-8 Hz. The speech modulation frequency is determined by the rhythm of the speech, the duration of the words, syllables and phonemes and both from The sound of the voice and the spoken language are almost independent. In comparison, the modulation spectrum for a jet aircraft is shown in FIG. 3. The modulation frequencies of 30-50 Hz are particularly well represented here. As the examples show, the result of a modulation analysis can advantageously be used to distinguish between speech and background noise.
Fig. 4 shows a schematic representation of a circuit for performing a method according to the invention. The Hörge advises 1 comprises two microphones 2 A, 2 B for recording an acoustic input signal and for conversion into an electrical input signal. Downstream of the microphones are the two A / D converters 3 A and 3 B. One of the two microphone signals is delayed by the delay element 4 and the sum element 5 leads to summation with the other microphone signal. The two microphones 2 A and 2 B are thus interconnected to form a directional microphone system. The resulting microphone signal is fed to a signal processing unit 6 as an input signal. The signal processing unit 6 can be adapted both to the hearing ability of a hearing device wearer and to the respective acoustic situation in which the hearing device 1 is currently located. The output signal of the signal processing unit 6 is fed to a receiver 8 after a D / A conversion in the D / A converter 7, which is not absolutely necessary. The hearing aid 1 according to the exemplary embodiment further comprises the signal analysis unit 9 , into which the individual input signals output and converted by the microphones 2 A and 2 B and the A / D-converted input signals and the directional microphone signal formed therefrom. In the signal analysis unit 9 there is a modulation analysis of the incoming signals. This shows whether and to what extent speech or other signals such as music or interference signals are present in the input signals. If interference signals are detected, they can be assigned to 9 different interference signal categories in the signal analysis unit. The result of the signal analysis is fed to the control unit 10 . In the control unit 10 , setting parameters are provided which relate to the signal processing in the signal processing unit 6 . These setting parameters allow the frequency response of both signal transmission to be adjusted by the hearing aid. Furthermore, noise detected during signal processing can be effectively reduced. For this purpose, it is provided that different algorithms for noise reduction are switched on and off as a function of the determined noise category or adapt parameters of a noise reduction algorithm as a function of the noise determined. It is further provided in the hearing aid 1 to emphasize a recognized speech signal contained in the input signal by raising the frequency range between 500 Hz and 4 kHz compared to other signals.
The adjustment parameters of the signal processing unit 6 can be carried out continuously by the control unit 10 , but the adjustment parameters can also be changed by leaps and bounds, e.g. B. when switching between different hearing programs based on the result of the signal analysis.
As can further be seen from the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 4, the control unit 10 also influences the directivity of the microphone system 2 A, 2 B by adjusting the delay set in the signal delay unit 4 as a result of the result of the signal analysis. By changing the signal delay, the direction of the best possible reception of the microphone system 2 A, 2 B can be aligned differently in the room. Thus, with noise occurring simultaneously with a speech signal, the preferred direction of the microphone system can be oriented in the direction of view of the hearing aid wearer.
The exemplary embodiment shown for a hearing aid can be analogously also on a hearing aid comprising several hearing aids expand the system. Then especially the Störge noise reduction and directional characteristics Setting parameters of the signal processing also that way dete affect the overall binaural system. Furthermore, the Hörge advises or hearing aid system in contrast to the execution example play only one microphone or more than two microphones exhibit.
