Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a trailer detection circuit for Motor vehicles with trailer coupling and plug connection for electrical connection of the vehicle electrical system to the trailer electrical system, in the vehicle electrical system provided with electronics in addition to a ground line, several current paths with switches and Consumers and in the trailer electrical system next to a ground line a corresponding number of current paths with consumers are arranged.
It should be said that under "trailer detection" in the present to understand the case in question is a signal transmission to Electronics of the towing vehicle in that it is the electronics now not only with the electrical system of the towing vehicle but also also has to do with that of the trailer.
With the introduction of more than 7-pin electrical plug connections between towing vehicle and trailer, problems arise for ensuring the requirements of the legally prescribed building regulations (see indicator monitoring, § 54, sentence 2 , StVZO and ECE-R 48 , number 6.5 .8 and 2.18 ), in particular with regard to motor vehicles that are to be converted afterwards for carrying a trailer. The problem here is the reliable detection of whether a trailer is being carried or not, of course in the sense of the two electrical systems to be connected electrically. According to the standard, a ground return in the plug of the plug connection to the socket on the motor vehicle should take place via a DIN-compliant contact (DIN ISO 11446), but for a variety of reasons this is not done or is even impossible, for example in a 7-pin plug connection the named DIN ISO 1724 . Since there is no retrofitting regulation, approx. 90% of the trailers on the market are equipped with a 7-pin connector according to DIN ISO 1724 , which does not enable mass return according to DIN ISO 11446. A possible alternative would now be to move the ground contact into the socket and switch it so that when the trailer plug is plugged in, it is forwarded to the control unit (electronics of the towing vehicle electrical system), thus providing a trailer identifier. However, this meant that the sockets no longer met the standard and were no longer interchangeable, which in turn would result in private car park standards or so-called company standards arising from a general standard. A generally applicable security with regard to carried trailers on retrofitted towing vehicles is therefore not given, that is, the invention is based on the object of providing a remedy here which reliably guarantees a mass return even with a 7-pin plug connection, namely with the Requirement to use a standardized connector for this.
Starting from a circuit of the type mentioned above solved this problem according to the invention in that in the Current paths arranged behind the switches and current valves behind them on the current paths equipped with current valves Lines are branched off with one to the electronics leading bypass line are connected.
With this solution according to the invention, an alternative Reliable and reliable mass return from the vehicle electrical system of the trailer to the electrical system of the towing vehicle or its Control and monitoring electronics created, the Mass return no special, the plug connection from the Standard contact in the connector required.
In terms of the method, the solution according to the invention could also go there be formulated that with the manufacture of the elec trical connector with at least one of the consumers in the trailer electrical system with the switches in the vehicle electrical system open a to the electronics bridging the open switches leading bypass current path for a detection signal is switched.
As is well known, all are legal with the trailer's electrical system prescribed light signals (braking, blinking, closing and Ne taillights), each with a connection to Mass. This circuit is used as far as all signals coming from the electrical system of the towing vehicle for the Activation of the corresponding light signals on the trailer serve, this according to the invention now in such a way that the from Traction vehicle signals coming via the scarf according to the invention running, first separated there and then over here like this mentioned current valves to the on-board electrical system of the trailer be directed. The next is via additional flow valves formation or recognition of a trailer carried under the Prerequisite possible that at least one incandescent lamp on hanger is intact for reliable electrical detection of the trailer carried by the towing vehicle electronics realize.
Since the least expensive, are for the aforementioned electricity valves preferably used diodes and also for the Circuit advantageously uses an embodiment in that that the circuit as in the formed from the current paths Ready-to-install wiring harness of the vehicle electrical system, between the Switches and the plug-in connector to be connected is trained.
The detection circuit according to the invention is described below hand the graphic representation of an embodiment explained in more detail that reference to a 7-pin connector takes.
The circuit then consists of a male terminal 1 for electrically connecting the motor-vehicle network 2 with the follower gerbordnetz 3, wherein in provided with an electronic E-board vehicle network 2 in addition to a ground line 4 a plurality of current paths 5 with switches 6 and consumers 7 and the trailer vehicle electrical system 3 in addition to a ground line 4 ', a corresponding number of current paths 5 ' with consumers 7 'are arranged.
For such a circuit, it is now essential that in the current paths 5 behind the switches 6 current valves 8 are arranged and behind these on the current paths 5 with current valves 8 'equipped lines 9 are branched with a leading to electronics E, here so-called bypass line 10th are connected. The term bypass is used here because during the detection process, that is, when the electrical plug connection is made, all switches 6 are open, but when the trailer electrical system 3 is switched on, the current or the detection signal can only get into the electronics via the bypass line 10 .
In the circuit shown, the circuit that supplies the trailer detection signal for the electronics E when the plug connection is plugged in is indicated by dash-dotted lines, all switches 6 being open to the consumers 7 , which are the flashing lights, the brake lights, the tail lights and the rear fog light. After the trailer has been mechanically and electrically coupled, the circuit is indicated by dotted lines, for example for the actuation of the flashing lights.
Apart from this, an embodiment of the circuit is preferred in such a way that the circuit is designed as a built-in module 11 to be connected between the switches 6 and the plug connection 1 in the cable harness of the vehicle electrical system 2 formed from the current paths 4 , 5 . Such a built-in module 11 is only shown in dashed lines in the drawing, in which the elements essential to the invention are located, for example, summarized on a circuit board located in a small housing. However, such a board can be directly integrated and, mutatis mutandis, in the vehicle electrical system 2 in a suitable manner also without any special containment case as a built-in module. 11 For the integration of the built-in module 11 in the form of, for example, a box-shaped housing in the vehicle electrical system 2 , this module is then provided with corresponding terminal connections 12 . The current path parts 5 located in the module 11 can be guided uninterrupted up to the plug connection 1 .
