Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein System laut Oberbegriff des Hauptanspruches.The invention relates to a system according to the preamble of the main claim.
When transmitting digital data using the frequency hopping method (frequency hopping), in which the data changes in abruptly changing transmission frequency Sections (hops) are transmitted, the signals are mostly caused by noise or other influences such as fading, Doppler shift and the like are impaired. A fading Burglary or a disturbance lead to the suppression of individual or even several frequency sections, so that the entire information (user data and FEC Redundancy) is lost. It is already known in such Frequency hopping the data symbols in the individual transmission frequency sections according to a so-called concatenated consisting of an outer and inner code Code.
These concatenated codes have the disadvantage that after the incorrect decoding of the an internal burst of errors (but not an independent error) arises. Consequently the decoder of the outer concatenated code generates several errors because of the outer code usually poor correction properties with regard to such error bursts having.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a system for data transmission according to the To show frequency hopping, in which these disadvantages as good as possible are avoided and that the safest possible data transmission even with strong ones Distortion guaranteed by the transmission channel.
This task is based on a system according to the preamble of the main claim solved by its characteristic features. Advantageous further developments result itself from the subclaims.
A First encounter with binary woven convolutional codes", In. Proc. International Symposium on Communication Theory and Application, Lake District, UK July 1997 bzw. Host, S. On Woven Convolutional Codes. Ph. D. Thesis, Lund University, 1999. . "Fundamentals of Convolutional Coding", IEEE Press, 1999, ISBN 0-7803-3483-3.The use of so-called woven codes, as described in detail, for example are described in Host, S. Johannesson, R. and Zyablov, V .: "A First encounter with binary woven convolutional codes ", In. Proc. International Symposium on Communication Theory and Application, Lake District, UK July 1997 or Host, S. On Woven Convolutional Codes. Ph. D. Thesis, Lund University, 1999. ISBN 91-7167-016-5, http: /www.it.lth.se/stefanh/thesis/, ensures even with strong distortions through the channel like fading dips that the lost information in the disturbed frequency sections recovered by the coding used can be. Woven codes cause the decoding errors mentioned by error bursts, largely avoided, since those generated by the decoder Error bursts between the different inner and outer codes independently be distributed from each other, which eventually leads to independent errors in each other code (outer or inner code), as follows using Examples will be explained in more detail. It has proven to be particularly advantageous Coding within a transmission frequency section in each case in the frequency section schedule, d. H. the coding begins at the beginning of the frequency section and ends with this. This avoids that a possibly deleted Frequency section the information at the beginning or at the end of the previous or falsify the next following frequency section, the coding in one Frequency section works independently of the other frequency sections. The system according to the invention can be used with all possible transmission channels can be used, for example with a so-called AWGN channel (Transmission channel with additive white Gaussian noise) or at Rayleigh channels. The use of binary convolutional codes allows for the Decoding of the outer code to use so-called soft decodings or So-called iterative decodings, as described for example in Johannesson R., Zigangirov, K.. . "Fundamentals of Convolutional Coding", IEEE Press, 1999, ISBN 0-7803-3483-3.
The invention is described below with the aid of schematic drawings Exemplary embodiments explained in more detail.
Fig. 1 shows schematically the transmission of digital data according to the frequency hopping method. The data is transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver in abruptly changing, successive transmission frequency sections f1 to f x , which can be repeated in any order. Fading dips or other distortions can suppress some or more of these frequency sections, as is shown in broken lines for some sections in FIG. 1. The data to be transmitted are encoded according to a known woven code, as described in more detail by Host in the literature described at the beginning, according to an outer and an inner convolutional code linked to it. The data symbols that are transmitted in a frequency section can be interpreted mathematically like a column of a matrix, so that the transmission as a whole can be interpreted as coding in the direction of matrix columns and coding in the direction of matrix rows of a semi-infinite matrix.
Fig. 2 shows schematically a known woven code consisting of the concatenation of an outer and inner convolutional code without buffer. With such a woven code, it is sufficient for the correction of an error burst of length L if an interleaving of the L codes which are able to correct an error is used. In this case, if each individual code is able to correct t errors, then the resulting construction will correct t error bursts. This is shown schematically in Fig. 3 for chained codes. The coder of such a construction comprises a parallel combination of codes as shown in FIG .
In general, such a linked code with its generator matrix can be represented by the following formula:
Gc = G ⊗ IL G c = G ⊗ I L
Das entspricht dem Kroneckerschen Produkt einer Generatormatrix des Faltungscodes G mit einer Identitätsmatrix I der Größe L. This corresponds to Kronecker's product of a generator matrix with convolutional code G. with an identity matrix I of size L.
Fig. 4. Die Generatormatrix dieses Codes nach Fig. 5 folgt der Formel
FIG. 5 shows the basic scheme of a so-called woven code with outer warp, as it arises from the concatenated combination of two convolutional codes according to FIG. 2, namely by replacing the outer code according to FIG. 2 with the code construction according to FIG. 4. The generator matrix of this codes according to Fig. 5 follows the formula
Gow = (Go ⊗ ILo).Gi,
G ow = (G o ⊗ I Lo ) .G i ,
dabei ist Gow die Generatormatrix des Woven Codes mit outer warp, Go und Gi entsprechen den Generatormatrizen des äußeren und inneren Codes und ILo ist eine Identitätsmatrix der Ordnung Lo.G ow is the generator matrix of the woven code with outer warp, G o and G i correspond to the generator matrices of the outer and inner code and I Lo is an identity matrix of the order Lo.
It follows that during the decoding the decoder of the inner Codes evenly generated error bursts between the different outer codes be distributed. This leads to independent errors in the outer code.
If, in the concatenated union of the two convolutional codes, the inner code is replaced by the described construction according to FIG. 4, the so-called woven code with inner warp according to FIG. 6 results . The generator matrix
Giw = Go.(Gi ⊗ ILi),
G iw = G o . (G i ⊗ I Li ),
G o and G i correspond to the generator matrices of the outer and inner codes and I Li is the identity matrix of the order Li.
Here too, those generated by the decoder are used during decoding Error bursts distributed independently between the various inner codes. this leads to again, independent errors in the outer code.
If, in the concatenated combination of the two convolutional codes, both the inner and the outer code are replaced by the described construction according to FIG. 4, the so-called woven code with double warp (twill) according to FIG. 7 results . The generator matrix of this code follows that formula
Gdw = (Go ⊗ ILo).(Gi ⊗ ILi),
G dw = (G o ⊗ I Lo ). (G i ⊗ I Li ),
dabei ist Gdw die Generatormatrix des Woven Code mit double warp, Go und Gi entsprechen der Generatormatrix des äußeren und inneren Codes, ILo ist die Identitätsmatrix der Ordnung Lo und ILi ist die Identitätsmatrix der Ordnung Li.G dw is the generator matrix of the woven code with double warp, G o and G i correspond to the generator matrix of the outer and inner code, I Lo is the identity matrix of the order Lo and I Li is the identity matrix of the order Li.
In each of the aforementioned codes of the woven codes, a permutation between the coders of the inner and outer code can be implemented. This allows the correction properties to be improved, particularly in AWGN channels. The corresponding scheme of the coders for outer warp, inner warp and double warp is shown in FIG. 8.
The following is the for the different types of woven code shown Distribution of the redundancy of the inner and outer codes between the lines and Columns or between the successive frequency sections and within of the individual frequency sections explained. A woven code serves as an example with the code rate R = 1/8. It is assumed that in all cases as external and inner codes use systematic convolutional codes with recursive coding become.
Fig. 9 again shows the woven code with outer warp. In the drawings, the useful information N is hatched obliquely, the test symbols of the outer code O are hatched horizontally and the test symbols of the inner code I are each hatched vertically.
From the aforementioned scheme of the woven code, the coding with the test information of the outer code is first carried out on the frequency sections sent between the useful information N, namely with a convolutional code with the rate R o = 1/4. Then all frequency sections (hops) are coded independently of one another with a possibly terminated convolutional code at the rate R i = 1/2.
Before coding with the inner code, the symbols can appear on each hop be subjected to permutation in various ways. The period of the permutation is T hops, d. H. the i-th hop and the i + T-hop become one and the same permutation subjected. The permutation is inter alia in "Bronstein-Semendjajew Taschenbuch der Mathematik ".
This type of coding modifies a woven code with outer warp Form created in which, deviating from the classic case, the inner codes in every hop is scheduled.
Hagenauer, "Rate-Compatible Punctured Convolutional Codes (RCPC Codes) and their Applications", IEEE Transactions on Communications, Vol. 36, No. 4, April 1988, Seite 389ff. At the same time, a known puncturing of the outer code can be carried out be like this B. is described in "J. Hagenauer," Rate-Compatible Punctured Convolutional Codes (RCPC Codes) and their Applications ", IEEE Transactions on Communications, Vol. 36, No. 4, April 1988, page 389ff. Through such a thing known puncturing, the code rate can be increased accordingly to R = (1/6 1/4).
The system of the woven code with inner warp is shown in FIG. 10. Here, the successive frequency sections are first coded independently of one another with a convolutional code with the rate R o = 1/2. All hops can then be coded independently of one another with a possibly terminated convolutional code at the rate R i = 1/4.
Before coding with the inner code, the symbols can appear on each hop are subjected to a different permutation in different ways, the period of Permutation is T Hops again.
This also results in a modified woven code with inner warp, in which the outer code can be terminated in each frequency segment. The resulting code becomes a convolutional code at the rate regardless of the termination of the outer code
Riw = Ro × Ri = 1/8.R iw = R o × R i = 1/8.
As with the outer warp, puncturing can increase the code rate.
The placement of the test symbols in the frequency sections together with the Information symbols can be disadvantageous in some cases, for example if partially or completely suppressed and deleted by fading frequency sections.
This disadvantage is avoided by the double-warp woven code shown in FIG. 11, in which the test information of the outer code O and the test information of the inner code I are each transmitted in separate hops between the useful information N.
In the case examined, the information symbols are written periodically into the hops with the period 1 / R dw , where R dw represents the rate of this construction.
As follows from the scheme of the encoder, the hops are first independently coded with a convolutional code with the rate R o = 1/2.
The result of such coding (test symbols of the outer code) is written periodically with the period 1 / R dw into the corresponding hops.
Then all hops are encoded independently of one another with several convolutional codes at the rate R i = 1/4.
Before coding with the inner code, the symbols can be found in each hop be subjected to permutation in various ways. The period of the permutation is T Hops.
As a result of such coding, a woven code with double warp is obtained.
The resulting code, regardless of termination of the outer code, becomes a convolutional code at the rate
Rdw = Ro.Ri = 1/8R dw = R o .R i = 1/8
As with the outer warp, the code rate can be increased by puncturing.
In the following, the construction of the woven turbo code is achieved. The general distribution of the information and test symbols between the hops and in the hops is shown in FIG .
The information symbols are written into the hops periodically with the period 1 / R wt , where R wt represents the rate of this construction. As follows from the diagram of the encoder, in the example the hops are first coded independently of one another with a convolution coee with the rate R o = 1/4.
The result of the coding (test symbols of the outer code) are written periodically with the period 1 / R wt in the corresponding hops. Then all hops (only the information symbols) are encoded independently of one another with a plurality of convolutional codes at the rate R i = 1/5.
Before coding with the inner codes, the symbols can be found in each hop be subjected to permutation in various ways. The period of the permutation is T Hops.
As a result of such coding, we get a woven turbo code. All Check symbols of both codes are distributed between the different columns. In addition, each of the individual codes has a lower rate. This is advantageous in the Bad channel transmission.
The resulting code becomes a convolutional code at the rate
By puncturing both or alternatively the outer and inner code with a code with the rates
erhalten.receive.
In addition to the periodic and systematic division of information and Test information may also be beneficial depending on the channel through which the Transfer should take place, hops with information and / or test information to bundle in time.
B. in Johannesson, R.; Zigangirov, K.. "Fundamentals of Convolutional Coding", IEEE Press, 1999, ISBN 0-7803-3483-3 beschrieben. An iterative turbo decoder is used for the decoding. Such decoders are known, e.g. B. in Johannesson, R .; Zigangirov, K .. "Fundamentals of Convolutional Coding", IEEE Press, 1999, ISBN 0-7803-3483-3. The structures of the code schemes or parallelism of the codes (outer warp, inner warp, double warp and woven turbo) and the use of the permuters according to FIG. 8 are taken into account in the decoding.
The outer and inner codes are advantageous with the help of the A posteriori- Probability algorithm (APP) decoded. This algorithm is also known and described in Johannesson. Because the receiver uses the code construction knows, he can know about the scheduling of the codes to reduce the Use effort in the decoder.
If the APP is used in a sliding window version, the delay in the decoding can be minimized and the maximum permissible for the transmission Delay can be adjusted.
