Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tap with a stepped gate, the Toothed bars in the gate part with or without relief on the outside diameter are.
The previously used and tried-and-tested chamfer shape of taps is the so-called bevel cut or bevel grinding of the outside diameter (article "Can increased wear on taps be avoided?" By Bethlehem, Maschinenmarkt Würzburg, 85 ( 1979 ) 76; pp. 1520, 1521 ). Here, the thread teeth are ground starting from the face or penetration side of the thread drill with the chamfer angle that extends in the axial direction of the tap over the chamfer length. The values of this lead angle that are usual in practice are approx. 16 ° for tapped blind threads and approx. 9 ° for taps for drilling through threads. The bevel cut of such conventional taps is additionally radially cut on the outside diameter, ie with an effect in the circumferential direction.
(Bethlehem a. a. O. S. 1521, Bild 9.)In addition to such taps with a chamfer, chamfer shapes are also known in which the entire thread profile increases conically from the face of the tap over the entire length of the gate and merges with the cylindrical guide part. (Bethlehem aa OS 1521, picture 9.)
O. S. 1521, Bild 10; Maschinenmarkt Würzburg 89 (1983) 77; S. 478, Bild 4 und 5).The usual cutting material for taps is high-speed steel. In contrast to other types of machining, carbide has not yet become popular with taps due to its high susceptibility to breakage. This susceptibility to breakage of hard metal is particularly disadvantageous in the case of taps intended for blind hole threads if the chips have to be sheared off when changing the direction of rotation for the return. As a result of the undercut on the outer diameter of conventional bevel cuts, the chips are squeezed out to the cutting edge of the cutting studs, which are subject to a high risk of breakage due to this pressure load. For this reason, the company has already started to cut the toothed ridges of taps and make them without relief on the outside diameter (see also OS 1521, Figure 10; Maschinenmarkt Würzburg 89 ( 1983 ) 77; p. 478, Figures 4 and 5).
The invention has for its object a tap at the beginning of the type mentioned in its gate area so that the described Risk of breakage when returning is reduced or avoided and that the Taps can also be made of hard metal. This task will solved by cutting the step surface against the toothed webs the direction of advance or penetration of the tap, that is to its front thrust direction is inversely inclined towards the tap axis.
Instead of the known oblique cut, the subject of the invention is the Chip division step-like. Seen in the direction of rotation, the outside increases knife in the gate area in the feed or penetration direction direction from tooth to tooth until finally the full Ge wind profile is reached.
Es zeigen:The invention is described in more detail with reference to the figures. Show it:

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a toothed bridge of the gate area of a tap according to the invention with three lead teeth on the right and a production cutting tooth on the left.
The toothed bridge 1 of the tap according to the invention (not shown) shown in FIG. 1 above and in FIG. 2 contains in its gate area 2 step-like from the feed or penetrating end 3 to the left in the direction of its guide part 4, the gate teeth 5 , 6 and 7 , to which in the same direction the finishing cutting teeth 8 , 9 ff of the guide part 4 continue in the same way if they connect to the left. The toothed webs 5-7 of the gate 2 are preferably without relief on the outside diameter. The step surfaces 10 of the gate teeth 5-7 are in the feed or penetration direction 11 of the tap opposite direction 12 with respect to the tap axis 13 to close the inclination angle 14 in the direction of the guide part 4 of the tap. The size of the angle of inclination corresponds approximately to the thread pitch.
