Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a fuel supply system for internal combustion engines Fuel injection, preferably for use in motor vehicles.
Fuel supply systems for internal combustion engines are generally known Injection systems in which a fuel pump from a fuel tank Injection system feeds.
A fuel supply system is known from EP 0 780 567 A1, in which one Fuel pump via a suction line and a fuel filter arranged in this Sucks in fuel and delivers it to a fuel rail. These are injectors connected, which feed the fuel to the cylinders. Not for injection required fuel, the control quantity and the leakage of the injection valves are over a fuel line back into the fuel filter. For using one unregulated fuel pump, a line is provided, which the discharge amount of Fuel pump leads back into the filter.
The fuel system does not have a line returning to the tank for the Injection required fuel. This is in the in the intake line Fuel filter located and returned with the filter from the tank replenished fuel supplied to the fuel rail. The one from the pump Fuel delivered and not required for injection is compressed in the Pump - especially for high pressure pumps for direct injection engines - and the Guide of the fuel in the fuel rail or injectors is very hot. The Recirculated fuel is returned to the injection system uncooled, whereby the the intended cooling of the distributor bar and the injection valves is weakened. The Heavily heated fuel is supplied to cylinders and this can lead to a Vapor formation will occur. Furthermore, the intake will make it less viscous The mechanical closing parts of the injection valves are insufficiently lubricated that further measures for cooling the fuel delivered by the fuel pump are necessary.
Fuel supply systems are well known, in which the of the Fuel pump pumped fuel that is not required for injection into the tank is returned. Due to the compression in the pump and the guidance in the Injection system of the engine, the fuel is heated so that with its return the The temperature of the amount of fuel in the tank increases. This warming is undesirable because plastic tanks are not resistant to high temperatures. Farther an increased fuel temperature leads to a larger amount of evaporated fuel in the Tank, which increases the evaporation emission.
For the reasons mentioned, fuel supply systems must be included Fuel return to the tank additional measures to cool the recirculated Fuel, e.g. B. arranged in the return line cooler. This means an additional outlay on components and requires additional installation space. An additional cooler also increases the overall weight of the system.
Rücklaufleitung angeordnet sind, mengenmäßig gesteuert.EP 0 656 471 A2 shows a fuel supply system with a return line for the fuel injected by the fuel pump, not injected, which is used for purging the distribution strip is used. The fuel returned to the tank is one to avoid undesirable heating of the amount of fuel in the tank by the combination of a pressure control valve and an adjustable shut-off valve, which are mutually arranged in a bypass or return line, in terms of quantity controlled.
The fuel is already heated during compression in the fuel pump Use of high pressure pumps causes the bypass into the tank recycled amount of fuel already contributes to heating the tank content. For the control of the bypass line, additional expenditure on components - pressure regulator, controllable shut-off valve - necessary. Furthermore, a signal for the needs-based Control of the shut-off valve can be generated. For this it is necessary to Measure fuel temperature or an equivalent quantity.
A generic fuel system is previously known from the document DE 198 42 041 A1, where a low pressure pump draws fuel from a tank and through a pipe feeds a high pressure pump. This supplies an injection system Internal combustion engine with high pressure fuel. Between the low pressure and the high-pressure pump, a collector is arranged to pulsate the feed pressure Reduce the high pressure pump or move it to another frequency range effect. A return of fuel not required for injection or one Cooling of the distribution strip is not provided in the script.
The object of the invention is to provide a generic fuel supply system create that, regardless of the load state of the engine, a supply of fuel to one High-pressure injection pump ensures that the pressure loss in the pipe system is minimal is held. The injection system is by means of heat dissipation by means of flowing Fuel cooled, a low by cooling the refluxing fuel Tank inlet temperature is secured.
The task becomes with generic fuel supply systems solved according to the features of the main claim. Further advantageous embodiments can be found in the subclaims or in Connection with the description of the solution according to the invention using Exemplary embodiments explained.
(Siehe Fig. 2)According to the invention, the fuel supply system advantageously has a high-pressure pump that draws fuel from a reservoir arranged close to it. Instead of a high pressure pump, e.g. B. when using pump-nozzle units (hereinafter PDE), several high-pressure pumps can also be used. These can be connected directly to the reservoir or, as described in FIG. 2, can be fed by a further form pressure pump. High pressure pump and injectors form a unit at PDE. They can be fed from a common manifold. The fuel supply system according to the invention described below is described with its advantages and configurations according to the invention for a high-pressure pump, but can also be transferred to the use of several high-pressure pumps (as with PDE). (See Fig. 2)
The reservoir that feeds the high pressure pump is replaced by an engine load independent low pressure pump filled with fuel. The pumped out of the tank Fuel arrives with minimal pressure loss that only depends on the line length between the Reservoir and the high pressure pump is dependent on the injection system. The The high pressure pump is located as close as possible to the injection system.
Another advantage of the reservoir is its storage effect. The High pressure pump can e.g. B. with delayed start of the low pressure pump Voltage drop on cold start, draw fuel from the reservoir.
According to the low pressure pump delivers a larger amount of fuel than that High pressure pump can be removed. This ensures that the high pressure pump on the Sufficient fuel is always available on the intake side in the reservoir. Of the High-pressure pump fuel that has not been discharged enters the through a return line Tank back. It can be an unregulated pump with a fixed delivery rate be used.
In an advantageous further development of the invention, the return line of the Reservoirs in the return line of the injection system, which are not for injection returns the required heated fuel to the tank. This will make the return Cooled fuel from the fuel flowing back from the reservoir. An additional one Fuel cooler can be omitted.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, in the return line Injection system, a controllable valve before the confluence of the reservoir return arranged. Via the controllable valve and a connected to it, before the Fuel filter can bypass line opening into the suction line of the high pressure pump heated fuel flowing back from the injection system to the intake side of the High pressure pump are promoted. At low temperatures, diesel fuel can be Reach the point of crystallization, whereby paraffin crystals fail, which clog the filter can. The return of preheated fuel prevents the filter from clogging Paraffin crystals.
Hierbei zeigt:Below is a possible embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawing described in more detail. Here shows:

Fig. 1 shows the inventive fuel supply system wherein a low-pressure pump 3, preferably an electric fuel pump, is disposed within a conveying unit 2 in a tank 1. The low-pressure pump 3 is connected on the pressure side to a pressure relief valve 4 , the return 5 of which opens into the delivery unit 2 . The low-pressure pump 3 of a flow line 6 , which opens into a reservoir 7 , is connected via a quick coupling K1 arranged after the pressure relief valve 4 .
This has a fuel line 8 leading to a high pressure pump 11 , in the course of which via quick couplings K2 u. K3 a fuel filter 9 is arranged. A check valve 10 is arranged between the fuel filter 9 and the high-pressure pump 11 in such a way that the fuel line 8 is closed when there is a higher pressure in the section of the fuel line 8 leading to the high-pressure pump 11 than in the section leading to the filter. The high-pressure pump 11 is connected on the pressure side of a distributor strip 13 with injectors 14 , which form the injection system 22 for an engine 12 . The distributor bar 13 is connected to a return line 15 , which in its further course leads into the tank 1 via a control valve 20 and a quick coupling K4. A control line 23 for the fuel controlled by the high-pressure pump 11 leads from this to the return line 15 . A fuel temperature sensor 17 is arranged therein, the measured value of which is used to correct the temperature of the injection quantity. A leak fuel line 16 , which receives the leak fuel of the injection system 22 , opens into the return line 15 via the throttle line 23 via a throttle 18 . In the course of this there is a control valve 20 which, as required, releases a preheating line 19 which opens into the fuel line 8 in front of the filter 9 . After the control valve 20 , an overflow line 21 of the reservoir 7 opens into the return line 15 . Promoted by the high pressure pump 11 but not injected, heated fuel is not mixed in the return line 15 with the signal supplied by the low pressure pump 3 but from the high pressure pump 11 supported fuel. The return line 15 leads this amount of fuel back together into the tank 1 .
The low-pressure pump 3 constantly delivers a larger amount of fuel than is required by the high-pressure pump 11 , so that fuel constantly flows via the overflow line 21 into the return line 15 and cools the fuel heated by the cooling of the injection system.
The fuel line 8 is connected to the reservoir - not shown (7 FIG. 1) - from which a pre-pressure pump 26 , which is integrated in a unit 31 flanged to the cylinder head, draws fuel. The feed pressure pump 26 is connected to the distributor line 24 from which the pump-nozzle units ( 111-114 ) deliver fuel. The pressure required for injection is generated by the high-pressure piston pump - not shown - integrated in the PDE ( 111-114 ). An electrically controlled solenoid valve controls the injection quantity and timing. In the return line 15 , heated fuel is fed back into the tank (1 Fig. 1). The fuel flowing back flows back into the tank - not shown - via a check valve 29 which is bypassed by a bypass line 30 with a throttle 28 arranged therein.
