The invention relates to a manganese-aluminum multicomponent bronze having a weak magnetic structure and a method for its thermal treatment, in particular for ensuring a low magnetic permeability. This alloy is intended to be applicable to castings having, in addition to low magnetic permeability, high corrosion resistance, at least moderate strength and good toughness. Such an alloy is particularly for shipbuilding typical products, such as ship propeller, propeller blades, pump parts, housings and fittings and equipment for electrical engineering, such. B. Generatortoile, and general mechanical engineering as well as a substitute material for casting alloys of the group of special brasses (CuZn) provided.
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
Alloys of the material group of brasses are used rationally for the mentioned applications. These are easy to cast, workable and often have sufficient mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
Higher demands on the material strength are attempted by the addition of strength-enhancing alloying elements (special brasses, for example, CuZn 37 Fe according to TGL 8110). For components whose material must have the lowest possible magnetic permeability, a low-iron special brass (CuZn 37 to TGL 8110) is available.
However, the sondormite rings can not meet higher application requirements for high strength and corrosion resistance in long life aggressive media. Furthermore, the melting and casting of special brasses as a result of the ZnO vapors occurring places a significant burden on health and the environment, which causes additional problems for the processing foundry and in general there is a need for substitution of this alloy group.
Substantially better strength and corrosion resistance are exhibited by the aluminum bronzes. Due to the lower density and higher material strength compared to the brass, they promote lightweight construction. An important alloying group, especially for shipbuilding and, in particular, propeller manufacture, is that of nickel-aluminum bronzes, some of which also contain iron and other alloying elements for influencing specific properties. These logs have high strength (sometimes 700MPa) and hardness with ductility sufficient for many applications and good corrosion resistance.
Allerdings liegen die Festigkeitskennwerte nur im Bereich der im Schiffbau verwendeten Sondermessinge (Mindestfestigkeit 410MPa).Negatively, however, a relatively low impact strength and, for special purposes, too high a magnetic permeability due to the iron and nickel contents act here. A suitable for such special purpose weak magnetic alloy is part of DIN 1714 (January 1963 edition). It is a manganese and nickel-containing aluminum bronze known as G-MnAI Bz F42 as a wear-resistant, tough material with high corrosion and seawater resistance and good cavitation and erosion resistance with low permeability (<1.01) at low electrical conductivity is characterized. However, the strength parameters are only in the range of special brasses used in shipbuilding (minimum strength 410MPa).
In the course of further development, this material was equipped with a minimum strength of 440 MPa. At the same time, however, the magnetic permeability decreased from 1.01 to 1.05. This advanced material was recorded in DIN 1714 (November 1981 issue) under the name G-Cu Al 8Mn.
As also very resistant to corrosion in aggressive media, such as seawater, copper-nickel alloys (AFS:
Cast from copper alloys). Such an alloy is standardized in the American standard ASTM B369 under the designation C96400. It has the basic composition of 30% Ni and 70% Cu, whereby additions of iron, silicon, lead, manganese, niobium, carbon are possible. The strength values, however, are significantly lower than those of the Cu-Al alloys and, moreover, are subject to greatly varying wall thicknesses.
The C96200 alloy of the basic composition of 10% Ni and 90% Cu, also standardized in the standard ASTM B369, was refined by substantial additions of aluminum, manganese and iron to higher strength values with better ductility (US Patent 1,289,30I).
Especially chromium components achieve strength properties similar to those of aluminum bronzes. This alloy is precipitation hardenable. Special emphasis is placed on maintaining a maximum value of relative magnetic permeability of 1.05.
Very good strength and corrosion properties have the manganese-aluminum multi-substance bronzes, as z. B. standardized under the name Mn9 and Mn 10 in the TGL 8110 and find application as a propeller material. Relative to the field of application of the invention, too high a magnetic permeability is disadvantageous. In analogy to the special brasses, this small magnetism was attributed to the iron content.
A reduction in iron content results in a lower yield strength and a decrease in both strength and toughness. If the grain-refining effect of the iron disappears, coarse-grained, unevenly formed microstructures result, which produce unfavorable strength / toughness relationships than iron-containing manganese-aluminum multicomponent bronzes.
Although the proportion of iron-rich precipitates decreases to zero as the iron content is minimized, the magnetic permeability does not significantly decrease.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The object of the invention is to develop a non-ferrous alloy, in particular a manganese-aluminum multi-material bronze having a weakly magnetic structure and good corrosion resistance, which can be used in particular in the field of shipbuilding.
With a desired average strength at least, with good toughness, it should not exceed a limit of 1.04, especially with respect to their relative magnetic permeability.
Furthermore, the alloy should, for economic and ecologic reasons, forego the use of expensive special alloying elastomers, such as Cr, having a low Cu antoel. In addition, it is said to be more environmentally friendly in terms of its melting properties and pourability due to lower gas evolution in the preparation because of its low Zn content against corrosion, in particular against "dezincification." In particular, it should also be ensured that this alloy is used as a Subsitution material, in particular for special brasses (Cu Zn) is used.
Wesen der ErfindungEssence of the invention
Die Aufgabe der Erfindung beinhaltet die Entwicklung einer Mangan-Aluminium-Mehrstoffbronze mit schwachmagnetischer Struktur, die eine gute bis sehr gute Korrosionsbeständigkeit und im Gußzustand eine relativ geringe magnetische Permeabilität von μ, € 1,04 im Maximum aufweist und gleichzeitig solche mechanischen Kennwerte als Mindestgröße besitzt, wie Zugfestigkeit Rm: 580MPaThe object of the invention involves the development of a manganese-aluminum multicomponent bronze with weak magnetic structure, which has a good to very good corrosion resistance and in the cast state a relatively low magnetic permeability of μ, € 1.04 in the maximum and at the same time has such mechanical characteristics as a minimum size , such as tensile strength R m : 580MPa

und über gute Schmelz- und Gießeigenschaften verfügt.and has good melting and casting properties.
The solution according to the invention is that the manganese-aluminum multi-substance bronze has a chemical alloy composition as follows:
Es wurde weiterhin erkannt, daß zur Gewährleistung der Zielstellung bezüglich der mechanischen Kennwerte im Sandguß die BeziehungIt has also been recognized that to ensure the objective with respect to the mechanical characteristics in sand casting the relationship
, Fe Mn Al Zn a)-i5- + ^T + T- + l6-> , Fe Mn Al Zn a) -i5- + ^ T + T- + l6- >
einzuhalten ist.is to be adhered to.
Gleichermaßen wurde erkannt, daß die Zielstellung einer relativen magnetischen Permeabilität von höchstens 1,04 im Gußzustand erreicht wird, wenn die chemische Zusammensetzung der Legierung die BeziehungLikewise, it has been recognized that the objective of a relative magnetic permeability of at most 1.04 in the as-cast state is achieved when the chemical composition of the alloy satisfies the relationship
, . Fe Mn Al Zn,. Fe Mn Al Zn
b)^+ir+u+75-< b) ^ + ir + u + 75- <
erfüllt.Fulfills.
The solution according to the invention further provides that the alloy must have a microstructure such that the microstructure contains at least 90% α-phase, at least 5% β-phase and at most 5% X-phase.
In accordance with these recognized conditions, it has been found that, in particular, the mechanical strength properties and the permeability below μ, = 1.04 are achieved without additional expenditure in the cast state when the concentration of the alloying elements is preferably within the following tolerance limits:
Within these limits, the alloying elements are to a certain extent equivalent and thus interchangeable in terms of influencing the mechanical and magnetic properties.
It is believed that not only are the Fe- and Mn-rich X phases present in the alloys of the manganese-aluminum multi-metal bronze type of magnetism, but also, in the sand casting usual cooling rate, in the solid state resulting from order conversion Modification of the ß-phase. It can therefore also be seen that it is not sufficient merely to lower the iron content in order to achieve a substantial reduction in the permeability. Compared to this, a reduction of the alloying elements Al, Mn and Zn which are decisive for the formation of the β-phase would inevitably also lead to a reduction in strength and hardness. On the basis of alloy variants (examples), which fulfill the Fordsrungen, according to target position, not or only partially, connections are illustrated. Table 1 contains variants of medium-strength manganese-aluminum multi-substance bronzes, as they are usually processed by sand casting. It can be seen that sufficient strength is achieved [condition a) is satisfied], but the permeability is too high.
DieTable 2 contains variants aimed at reducing the permeability by reducing the Fe content. It can be seen that nevertheless the permeability is still too high, the relationship b) is not met. The
Tabelle 3).Reduction of the alloying elements Mn and Al, which are further identified as determining the formation of the β-phase and thus for the magnetic properties, gives insufficient strength without regard to the relationship a) (see Table 3).
Only when both conditions a) and condition b) are maintained is the alloy composition according to the invention obtained, so that the material characteristics are completely achieved in accordance with the objective position. This is shown by means of the exemplary embodiments in Table 4.
Im Zusammenhang mit der durchgeführten Variantenauswahl der chemischen Zusammensetzung wurde dos weiteren erkannt, daß bei einer chemischen Zusammensetzung der Legierung vonIn connection with the carried out variant selection of the chemical composition dos was further recognized that in a chemical composition of the alloy of
Diese erreichten Effekte sind umso größer, je höher die Glühtemperatur in den genannten Bereichen ist und je schneller nachfolgend die Abkühlung erfolgttargeted compliance with a relative magnetic permeability below μ, = 1.04 is not possible iot and that in this case in particular the condition b) is not met. In this regard, it has been found that compliance with permeability below μ, = 1.04 is achieved when the alloy is subjected to thermal treatment in accordance with the above alloying range and under conditions a) after casting. It has been found that by annealing the castings in the temperature range of 450 ^ 550 ° C over a period of 1 to 10 hours and a subsequent rapid cooling in air or preferably in oil, the predetermined permeability limit range is maintained. Similarly, it was found that, to avoid an unwanted change in the mechanical properties and the formation of unfavorable GofugestruH "r s is an annealing in the temperature range of 500-550 0 C with an exposure time of 2-4 Stundemn Depending wedge of the respective wall thickness of advantage. These reached Effects are greater, the higher the annealing temperature in these areas and the faster the subsequent cooling takes place
In Tabelle 5 sind hierzu 3 Ausführungsbeispiele angegeben. In Table 5 3 embodiments are given for this purpose.
The advantage of the solution according to the invention is that a manganese-aluminum multi-material bronze has been found with weak magnetic structure, which has very good performance characteristics of manganese-aluminum Mehrstoffbronzen, such as high strength and toughness, excellent corrosion resistance and good workability with minimal magnetic permeability. The proposed alloy does without conventionally used, expensive special elements and is already in the casting state comparable weak magnetic alloys, in terms of strength characteristics, superior. A minimum strength of 580 MPa is guaranteed.
Alloy compositions, especially high Mn, Al and Zn alloys, are characterized by higher strength but with a relative Pe. .leability of over 1.04 occurs. The thermal treatment according to the invention, however, makes it possible, in a surprising manner, to easily equip these alloy variants with a lower magnetic permeability of less than 1.04. The level of strength present in the casting state is essentially retained. The alloy according to the invention is moreover suitable for use as a substitution material for special brass because of the said property spectrum with good castability and good flowability. In this respect it is more environment-friendly because of the low Zn-G. Content.
