Abstract
Hier setzt man H2S und SO2 bei Temperaturen im Bereich von 110 bis 160C an einem Katalysator zu Elementarschwefel um und adsorbiert den Elementarschwefel am Katalysator.{Entschwefelung; H2S-Gas; Elementarschwefel; TiO2-Katalysator; Reaktor mit Katalysatorbett}Desulfurizes a gas containing H2S, SO2 and at least one of the carbon compounds COS and CS2, the sum of the content of COS and CS2 amounts to 0.01 to 0.5 times the H2S content. Description

The invention relates to a process for desulfurizing a gas containing H 2 S, SO 2 and at least one of the carbon compounds COS and CS 2 , wherein the sum of the content of COS and CS 2 is 0.01 to C, 5 times the H 2 S content is, by hydrolysis of COS and CS 2 to H 2 S and CO 2 on a catalyst consisting of at least 80 wt .-% of TiO 2 and by catalytically reacting H 2 S with SO 2 and / or O 2 to H 2 O and elemental sulfur. TiO 2 catalysts of this type and their use in the desulfurization of H 2 S-containing gases are described in German Offenlegungsschriften Nos. 3,529,665 and 3,535,815. In the process of DE-OS 3529665 is carried out at relatively low temperatures in the range of 30 to 150 0 C. These temperatures are below the dew point of sulfur, so that deposits during operation elemental sulfur on the TiO 2 catalyst. This requires a relatively frequent regeneration of the catalyst. It is also disadvantageous that an appreciable decline in the conversion occurs in the case of an oxygen content in the gas to be desulphurised.
,In the known process of DE-OS 3535815, a catalyst consisting of at least 90% by weight of TiO 2 is used at temperatures of 200 ° to 350 ° C. in order to convert COS and CS 2 upstream of the desulfurization with water to H 2 S and CO 2 to hydrolyze. The formation of elemental sulfur by simultaneous conversion of H 2 S and SO 2 is in this case so small that it does not matter. .
The invention has for its object to use in the aforementioned process, the TiO 2 catalyst both for the hydrolysis of COS and CS 2 as well as for the formation of elemental sulfur and at the same time to achieve a long service life of the catalyst. According to the invention, this is achieved by passing the gas to be desulfurized in a first reactor at temperatures of 160 to 19O 0 C through a catalyst bed containing only at least 80Gew .-% of TiO 2 existing catalyst, that one from the catalyst bed withdrawn treated gas containing elemental sulfur, its content of H 2 S at most 0.5 times the H 2 S content in the gas to be desulfurized and its content of the carbon compounds COS and CS 2 höcii ^ .ens 0.1 times the content amounts of these carbon compounds to entschwofelnden gas that cools the treated gas, condensed elemental sulfur, and separating, by passing freed from auskondensiertem elemental sulfur gas through a second reactor, in which one of a catalyst at temperatures in the range from 110 to 160 0 CH 2 S and SO 2 converts to elemental sulfur and largely adsorbed the elemental sulfur on the catalyst.
Auf diese Weise lassen sich im ersten Reaktor möglichst stöchiometrische Verhältnisse für die Umsetzung vonIt is important for the process according to the invention that both COS and CS 2 are hydrolyzed, H 2 S and SO 2 are reacted to give elemental sulfur and at the same time a part of the H 2 S is oxidized to SO 2 and / or elemental sulfur. The temperature range from 160 to 19O 0 C, which is important for the process according to the invention in the first reactor, means work above the sulfur dew point and below the optimum working range for the hydrolysis of COS and CS 2 . Nevertheless, a sufficient conversion is achieved in the first reactor, so that the rest of the reaction can be carried out without difficulty in the second reactor. It was also found that an oxygen content in the desulfurized. Gas is not disadvantageous because it can thereby oxidize part of the H 2 S to SO 2 with the Sauerstoffzusati in the first reactor. In this way, in the first reactor stoichiometric ratios possible for the implementation of

B. in den beiden oben genannten deutschen Offenlegungsschriften beschrieben.also use the TiO 3 catalyst used in the innermost reactor. In the second reactor, however, preference is given to using a catalyst comprising at least 90% Al 2 O 3 , since in this case the hydrolysis of COS and CS 2 is no longer necessary to a considerable extent. The Al 2 O 3 catalyst is known and z. B. in the two above-mentioned German patents.
