Charakteristik dos bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristics of the known prior art
Nach E. Rudy et al., Proc. of the 8th Plansee Seminar 1974, Reutte, Vol. Z, p.30 und H. Doi, Proc. of the Int. Conf. According to E. Rudy et al., Proc. of the 8th Plansee Seminar 1974, Reutte, Vol. Z, p.30 and H. Doi, Proc. of the Int. Conf. Science of Hard Materials, Rhodes 19114, p.489-523 are hard materials consisting of a carbonitride of titanium and another metal known. These carbonitrides are either single-phase or multi-phase and spinodal-segregated. In both cases, all metal and nonmetal components are in thermodynamic equilibrium. In the case of multi-phase, spinodal-demixed carbonitride hard materials, the individual phases show approximately the same lattice constants, ie. H. Differences are not detectable in radiographic examinations.
Although the polyphase, spinodal segregated carbonitrides are somewhat improved over the single phase, but disadvantages, such. As nitrogen decomposition leading to higher porosity gassing processes, insufficient Umlöseprozesse, bad.; Verdichtungsverhaltiän during sintering, remain at least partially. The causes of these disadvantages are to be found in the fact that, especially with regard to the interactions with liquid metals, such as ζ. As Ni, Co, Fe, the sintering behavior and the associated structural formations are not optimal.
According to DE-OS 24207153 a process for the preparation of these hard materials is known. According to a variant of this method, a carbonitride master alloy is prepared by nitriding of carbide and metal powder mixtures for up to 10 hours at temperatures between 1400 and 1800 0 C.
Another variant of the method provides for the homogenization of preformed carbides and nitrides up to 10 hours at 1700 ° C to 2300 0 C before, which are followed by a crushing of the reaction cake and milling to Oine particle size <75 pm. By admixing a further preformed carbide alloy and re-homogenizing, the desired composition is produced. The lack of both variants is the high economic cost, which is caused by multi-stage processes, by annealing times up to 10 hours and temperatures up to 2300 0 C.

The advantages of the carbonitride hard materials produced and characterized in this way are particularly evident when sintering mixtures of these hard materials with Ni, Co, Fe binder metal powders. Compared with the prior art, with constant isothermal sintering time, the sintering temperature necessary to reach the maximum density can be lowered by 75 to 100K. Furthermore, no degassing phenomena occur, and the sintering behavior is relatively little dependent on the sintering atmosphere and the bedding of the sintered product, which has an overall positive effect on a low-pore, homogeneous microstructure formation, allows a technologically less susceptible sintering and leads to advantageous properties of the sintered body.
