Description
Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The present invention relates to optically clear polysiloxane-based compositions which are used in particular for the production of contact-optical objects such as contact lenses, scleral shells and intraocular lenses.
Charakteristik des bekannten Standes der TechnikCharacteristic of the known state of the art
The range of plastics used in contact optics has expanded from year to year. There have been developed contact lenses made of various materials, eg. B. from PMMA, CAB (cellulose acetate butyrate), copolymers of vinylpyrrolidone, etc.
Improvements in material composition associated with new lens shapes have greatly enhanced the use of contact lenses worldwide. Particularly with high water content lenses, optimum fluid permeability is achieved with good fluid exchange. The lenses are characterized by excellent subjective compatibility. For all contact lenses with a higher content of water, however, disadvantages such as deposits and intercalations of tear film constituents, in particular of proteins, with possible allergic reactions must be accepted. Also, in certain preservatives in cleaning, wetting and storage solutions hypersensitivity reactions can not be excluded.
In terms of optical quality, the highly hydrophilic lens is inferior to the hard lens.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is to largely avoid the aforementioned disadvantages.
Es bot sich Silikon-Kautschuk an.The invention has for its object to provide contact optical articles and a method for their preparation, to achieve that the optical properties of a soft plastic correspond to those of hard lenses, a material that shows tears, bacteria and viruses indifferent to, beyond has good physiological compatibility and has a high gas diffusion. It offered silicone rubber.
The surface conformation of the hydrophobic silicone rubber material required for good eye compatibility was achieved by changing the molecular structure of the lens surface (eg high-energy radiation or electron bombardment in a vacuum). Silicone lenses have long been known per se, but it soon became apparent that e.g. the maintenance of surface wetting is very limited. Also, other properties of the silicone lenses are still in need of improvement.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft nun bestimmte additionsvernetzende Vinylsilikonmischungen zur Herstellung vonThe present invention now relates to certain addition-crosslinking vinyl silicone mixtures for the production of
This is a cold-vulcanizing two-component silicone rubber system in which the crosslinker-containing base mixture is mixed with a catalyst mixture and at room temperature or at a particularly long setting the pot life by a W'irmestoß (in the order of about 50-15O 0 C) is crosslinked.
Zweikomponenten-Silikonkautschuk-Systeme, die auf Basis vinyl- und SiH-gruppenhaltiger Polydimethylsiloxane durchTwo-component silicone rubber systems based on vinyl- and SiH-group-containing polydimethylsiloxanes
Crosslink addition reaction have been known for many years and have been e.g. used as impression and duplicating materials in the dental field.
These compositions consist of a silicone polymer and crosslinker-containing base component and a catalyst component of silicone polymer, catalyst and inhibitor. The silicone polymer is predominantly a vinyl-end-stopped phenylmethylsiloxane, the crosslinker contains reactive SiH groups, and the catalyst consists of platinum or a platinum complex. Targeted distribution of silicone polymers with different viscosities can be used to set the base and catalyst components to the same viscosity. These two components are to ruffle before use in a certain weight or volume ratio.
1964, S. 162-206).The starting materials such as vinyl-containing silicone polymers, trimethylsiloxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes and SiH-containing polysiloxanes (crosslinking substances) are prepared in a manner known per se (cf., for example, BW Noil, Chemie und Technologie der Silicones, Verlag Chemie, Weinheim, 2nd edition 1964, p. 162-206).
Silicone polymers which have a low content of oligomers by vacuum heating in a thin-film or falling-film evaporator are described in DE-A-3532686.
The vinyl-containing silicone polymers are generally vinyl end-stopped polydimethylsiloxanes, ie linear polymers. Likewise, the SiH group-containing crosslinkers can be linear. Branches, ie a network, are obtained in the case of crosslinking by means of platinum catalyst, if the crosslinker has SiH groups not only terminally but also in the chain. However, the denseness of the network is limited here, since the SiH group density must usefully remain limited. With a high content of vicinal SiH groups in the crosslinker molecule, many of these SiH groups can not react with the vinyl groups due to steric hindrance. Instead of the hoped-for improvement in rubber properties, one achieves exactly the opposite, namely undercrosslinking and softening effect.
It was therefore desirable to improve the materials known from DE-A-3532686 in their mechanical properties.
Surprisingly, it has now been found that these materials are significantly improved by the addition of 1-10Gew .-%, preferably 1.5-5Gew .-% of low molecular weight vinyl group-containing QM resins in their mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength and elongation at break without their optical properties are thereby reduced.
In addition, the addition of QM resins also offers the advantage that it allows the refractive index of the optically clear silicone compositions to be varied.
These QM resins are characterized in that, as explained in the book by W. Noil, page 3, as Q units the tetrafunctional S1O4 / 2 and as M units the monofunctional R3S1O1 / 2, where R is vinyl, methyl, Ethyl, phenyl may be included. In addition, can also be present as T units, the trifunctional RSiO 3/2 and SiO 2 2 Z 2 with the same meaning for R as above be present as D units, the bifunctional R. The inventive content of 1-10Gew .-% QM resin, preferably 1.5-5Gew .-% QM resin in the entire silicone system causes a significant improvement in the crosslinking density and thus a higher tensile strength and hardness of the elastomeric product.

The vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes have a viscosity of about 200-10000OmPa · s (at 2O 0 C), the SiH haltlgen polysiloxanes have SiH contents vonO.I-IOmMol / g and a viscosity of about 50-50OmPa s (at 2O 0 C). The QM resins used according to the invention are known per se. Their preparation is described, for example, in US Pat. Nos. 2,676,182, 28,557,356 and 3,527,659.
Wesentlich für den erfindungsgemäßen Einsatz ist,Essential for the use according to the invention is
- daß die QM-Harze so niedermolekular sind, daß sie in den vinylendgestoppten Polydimethylsiloxanen optisch klar gelöst sind und ihre Abmischungen zu optisch klaren Endprodukten führen. In der Regel weisen derartige QM-Harze eine Viskosität von 150bis 150OmPa sauf;- That the QM resins are so low molecular weight that they are optically clear dissolved in the vinyl endstopped polydimethylsiloxanes and their blends lead to optically clear end products. Typically, such QM resins have a viscosity of 150 to 150 ohmPa s;
- daß der SiOH-üehalt der QM-Harze so gering ist, daß keine optischen Störungen durch Blasen von freigesetztem Wasserstoffgas entstehen können;- That the SiOH content of the QM resins is so low that no optical disturbances can arise by blowing released hydrogen gas;
That the content of volatile and / or non-reactive molecules is so low that the dimensional stability of the moldings is not reduced; and that the QM resins have a vinyl content of 0.5 to 8 μmol / g and an ethoxy content of 0.2 to 3 μmol / g.
The content of volatile oligomers, measured as described in DE A 3532686, should not be more than 0.8% by weight. The ratio of the sum of R 3 SiO 1 /] and EtO t / 2 unit to the SiO 2 initiators is said to be smaller than 2.5 and is limited downwards by the optically clear solubility of the QM resins in the vinyl-terminated Polydimethylsiloxanen, or by the optical clarity of the final products.
Ein bevorzugtes QM-Harz weist die FormelThe QM-resins may small amounts of R 2 SiO and RSiO 3/2 units, without this interfering with the use of the invention beyond, however, the R 2 SiO and RSiO are 3/2 units in total 20 mol do not exceed%.
