\ ' ,The fish oils contain in addition to EPA and DHA in a large amount of saturated fatty acids or fatty acids with low saturation and unsaponifiable components. In the last decades, research has begun to deal with the effects of microelements and trace elements. "It has become known that selenium is one of the most important, essential substances for life." The beneficial effect of selenium is based primarily on: that is the glutathione-peroxide, more precisely the prosthetic group of this enzyme, the. The most important inhibitor of harmful peroxidation Vorgähge is activated. The selenium does not accumulate in the organism, so it must be constantly provided for replenishment. So far, the selenium has been taken up in the form of inorganic compounds, primarily in the form of SeO 2 and Na 2 SeO-.
It is also effective in periodontitis "Its action against cancer is significant * it certainly reduces the possibility of developing cancer" Selenium is a mutagenic inhibitor.

The fish oils contain in addition to EPA and DHA in a large amount of saturated fatty acids or fatty acids with low saturation and unsaponifiable components. The removal of these components is very important as an increase in the dietary portion sensitively increases the triglyceride level of the blood or the amount of calories consumed. In addition, the non-saponifiable ingredients may dietally contain harmful steroids, such as cholesterol, as well as vitamin D (its provitamin) and A, which accumulate in the human body.

In the last decades, research has begun to address the effects of microelements and trace elements. It has become known that selenium is one of the most important, essential substances for life. Above all, the beneficial effect of selenium is due to the fact that it activates glutathione peroxidase, more specifically the prosthetic group of this enzyme, which is the main inhibitor of harmful peroxidation processes. The selenium does not accumulate in the organism, so it must be constantly provided for replenishment. So far, the selenium in the form of inorganic compounds, so in the first place in the form of SeO 2 and Na 3 SeO 3 , was added.
Selen ist ein mutagener Inhibi-Selenium is itself an effective hypotensive substance, it improves the ischemic, hypoxia and infarction of the heart and prevents ceroid lipofuscinosis. Man erhält 3,2 kg konzentriertes Öl. DHA-Gehalt: 36,8 #, EPA-Gehalt:2 kg of sodium hydroxide are dissolved in 70 liters of 95 # -igem alcohol, then 10 kg of sardine oil are added at a temperature of 50 - 60 0 C. The mixture is boiled for 2 hours in a nitrogen atmosphere, then cooled to 10 ° C. with stirring. At the same time, the sodium salt of the saturated fatty acids separates out. The crystals are filtered out and washed with a little alcohol. The alcoholic filtrate is thickened and 20 liters of boiled water are added. The unsaponifiable compounds ,. such as cholesterol, are completely removed by extraction with 5 liters of hexane. The extracted aqueous phase is acidified to pH 2 with dilute sulfuric acid, then re-extracted with 15 liters of hexane. The organic phase is washed with water, dried with solid sodium sulfate, then evaporated. This gives 3.2 kg of concentrated oil. DHA content: 36.8 #, EPA content:
The oil is brown and smells of fish, so it is mixed with Fuller's earth, because it is heated in a nitrogen atmosphere at 105 0 C for 10 minutes and then filtered hot. Is made odorless by vacuum steam distillation for 3 hours at a pressure of 1.3 bar and a temperature of I70 0 C. to obtain 1.6 kg of light yellow, tasteless, odorless oil with virtually unchanged composition.
At a temperature of 50-60 0 C 8 kg are added dropwise 40 # strength sodium hydroxide solution with stirring,
Jodzahl: 258; Säurezahl: 160.then the mixture is kept at a temperature of 60 C and stirred for another 45 minutes. At about 60 ° C., 20 kg of 15% hydrochloric acid are added to the solution. The phases are separated, because the organisehe phase is washed neutral with 10 kg of 15 # hydrochloric acid, then with about 180 liters of hot tap water. The resulting phases are separated, then 100 liters of acetone are added to the oily phase. It is heated to about 45 0 C, then 3> 8 kg are dissolved in 30 liters of water dissolved LiOH.i ^ O poured. After stirring for half an hour, the mixture is allowed to stand overnight, then it is filtered and the acetone filtrate is evaporated. It is acidified with about 8 kg of 15% hydrochloric acid, then shaken out three times with hexane and finally evaporated. During the cleaning process, work is carried out until the end in a nitrogen atmosphere, in this way you get 6.4 kg of purified fish oil. Iodine number: 258; Acid number: 160.
So erhält man 0,34 kg ω-3-Fettsäuren. Jodzahl:1 kg of the thus purified Dorschleberols is added dropwise at 60 0 C prepared with 9 liters of methanol solution of 3 kg of urea. The mixture is stirred for 2 hours at this temperature. After cooling, it is allowed to stand overnight at -10 0 C in the freezer. It is filtered and the filtrate is evaporated. The evaporated substance, 2.5 liters of 1: 1 diluted hydrochloric acid are poured. Stir for 15 minutes, then shake with hexane. The hexane phase is washed neutral with water, dried with Na 2 SO 4, then evaporated. This gives 0.34 kg of ω-3 fatty acids. iodine:
