Abstract
Fig. 1The invention relates to an arrangement for the interferometric examination of the shape deviation of optical surfaces and of refractive index inhomogeneities with a small gradient of optical glasses in real time. The invention consists in that in a FIZEAU optical interferometer arrangement a polarization-optical and minute, angular beam differentiation is performed by means of a birefringent element before the beam expansion and thus before the slightly inclined reference surface and the polarization-optical phase position is applied, so that even large plane surfaces and Sphaeren are testable. The advantage lies in the combination of the advantages of the FIZEAU interferometer with the advantages of polarization-optical phase position, so that taking advantage of the beam splitting before the interferometer and large Prueflinge with high accuracy and comparatively low constructive and technological effort are pruefbar. The vibration and temperature insensitivity due to the common-path principle is also achieved. Fig. 1

The invention relates to the testing of optical surfaces and inhomogeneities with small refractive index gradient in a two-beam interferometer, which works in Eohtseit.
Der dadurch bedingte temperaturabhängige Gerätefehler muß duroh Kalibrierung, die ggf. häufig Characteristic of the known technical solutions For examining optical surfaces and inhomogeneities, it is known to use FIZEAU and TWYMAiI GREEN INTERFEHOMETERS (TGI). These interferometer arrangements may include means for reference phase position and be coupled to computers, whereby an increase in the measurement accuracy and a shortening of the measurement time is achieved. In TGI devices, it is known to incorporate means for performing phase-stop interferometry (PSI) methods and heterodyne methods. By TGI arrangements, the reference phase can be favorably adjusted. A disadvantage of TGI arrangements is that they have a high temperature and Sohwingungsempfindlichkeit by a spatially separated test and reference beam. The consequent temperature-dependent device error must duroh calibration, if necessary frequently
"In a FIZEAU interferometer, these disadvantages are not dominant, because only at the FIZEAU Referensfläohe test and reference beam are separated. In the optical arrangement, therefore, both beams pass through the same path (Comraon Path Interferometer), except for the distance between reference and test area.
However, this advantage of the FIZEAU interferometer also brings with it the NaOH part that the reference phase can not be made as relatively unproblematic and varied as with the TGI.
Als Möglichkeiten der Phasenstellung im FIZEAU-Interferometsr sind bisher die piezogetriebene Verstellung der Refe— renzfläche (Schaham: "Precision optical wavefront measurement", Preprint SPIE 25th Symp., 1981) oder des Prüflings (Moore, Slaymaker: "Direct measurement of phase in a spherical-wave PIZEAU-Interferometer"; Appl. Opt. 19, 2196, 1980). bekanntgeworden. To date, the piezo-driven adjustment of the reference surface (Schaham: "Precision optical wavefront measurement", Preprint SPIE 25th Symp., 1981) or the test specimen (Moore, Slaymaker: "Direct measurement of phase in a spherical-wave PIZEAU interferometer "; Appl. Opt. 19, 2196, 1980). known.
The disadvantage here is because of the considerable size of the specimens (high-performance optics with a diameter of 150 mm and above), the large mass to be moved. In addition to the design effort also increase the phase errors and thus the measurement errors in this variant.
For the purpose of polarization-optical phase adjustment, the direction of oscillation of the reference plane transmitting linearly polarized light is rotated by 90 ° by means of an A / 4 plate, wherein the λ / 4 plate is placed between the reference surface and DUT and uud passed through the measuring beam twice. Instead of the A / 4-plate also a KERR or a PARADAY-ZelIe is specified. A disadvantage of this arrangement is that üie exactly only for di «! Testing of flat surfaces can be used, because in spherical specimens, the phase difference with increasing aperture angle due to the oblique transmission

Hinzu kommt das technologische Problem der Herstellung großer Λ/4-Platten, so daß die Lösung auf die Prüfung kleiner Planflächen, kleiner konvexer Prüflinge geringer Apertur und beliebiger konkaver Prüflinge geringer Apertur beschränkt bleibt-,more and more differs from the required amount λ / 4, the thicker the plate is performed for stability reasons. In addition, there is the technological problem of producing large Λ / 4 plates, so that the solution remains limited to testing small plane surfaces, small convex low-aperture specimens, and any concave low-aperture specimens.
Barnes ("Heterodyne Fizeau-Interferometer for testing flat surfaces"; Appl. Barnes ("Heterodyne Fizeau Interferometer for Testing Flat Surfaces"), Appl. Optics, 26 (14), 2804, 1987) presents a solution in which the heterodyne phase-shifting method is implemented in a FIZEAU plane surface interferometer. At the input of the interferometer by means of acousto-optic modulator (AOM) or rotating radial lattice necessary in the heterodyne process laser beams are generated with slightly shifted frequencies. The inclination between both beams is used to irradiate the reference and the test surface, which also have a slight inclination to each other and must be suitably adjusted to the optical AcLce, so that the beam reflected at the reference surface in the direction of the optical axis with the Frequency 1 * 3, with the reflected beam in the direction of the optical axis on the test surface with the frequency O ρ can interfere. All other reflexes are hidden. This arrangement may be referred to as a heterodyne common path interferometer. Due to the heterodyne method, however, only 1 point of the test surface is measured; by scanning, e.g. Moving the test surface, only the entire surface is detected. For the PSI method, the specified solution is not applicable.

The invention has for its object to develop an arrangement for interferometric examination, which enables a simple determination of the shape deviation of optical surfaces and the refractive index inhomogeneities of optical glasses, regardless of mechanical vibrations highly accurate.
The object is achieved in that in an interferometer with FIZEAU character, byi seen in the light direction entlai g an optical axis successively a monochromatic light source of wavelength λ, a polarizer, a Voraufweitungssystem with a spatial frequency filter, an A / 2 plate an optical imaging system, a beam splitter made of a glass plate and a deflection mirror near the axis, a further optical imaging system, a FIZE / iU reference surface slightly inclined towards the optical axis, and a specimen surface inclined in the opposite direction by the same amount,
bei dem weiterhin in dem vom Umlenkspiegel erzeugten Auswertestrahlengang in Lichtrichtung gesehen entlang der optischen Achse nacheinander ein Objektiv, eine ^/4-Platte, eine drehbare Λ/2-Platte, ein Analysator und ein Empfänger vorgesehen ist, wobei die drehbare Λ/2-Platte von einem Mo*nr angetrieben wird, der mit einem Rechner in Verbindung steht, und wobei der Empfänger mit einem A/D-Wandler verbunden ist, der ebenfalls mit dem Rechner gekoppelt ist, zwischen der festen Λ/2-Platte und dem ersten optischen Abbildungssystem ein doppelbrechendes Element vorgesehen ist.in which, furthermore, an objective, a λ / 4 plate, a rotatable Λ / 2 plate, an analyzer and a receiver are provided successively in the evaluation beam path generated by the deflecting mirror in the light direction along the optical axis, wherein the rotatable Λ / 2 Disk is driven by a Mo * nr, which is in communication with a computer, and wherein the receiver is connected to an A / D converter, which is also coupled to the computer, between the fixed Λ / 2-plate and the first optical imaging system is provided a birefringent element.
Das Wesen der Anordnung beeteht erfindungsgemäß darin,The essence of the arrangement according to the invention is
daß in einer optischen Interferometeranordnung mit FIZEAU= Charakter eine polarisationsoptische und geringfügige, winkelmäßige Strahldifferenzierung mittels eines doppelbrechenden Elements vor der StrahlaufWeitung und damit vor der geringfügig geneigt stehenden Referenzfläche vorgenommen und die polarisationsoptische Phasenstellung angewendet wird, so daß auch große Planflächen und Sphären prüfbar sind.in an optical interferometer arrangement with FIZEAU = character, a polarization-optical and slight, angular beam differentiation by means of a birefringent element before the StrahlaufWeitung and thus made before the slightly inclined reference surface and the polarization-optical phase position is applied, so that even large plane surfaces and spheres can be tested.
The vibration and temperature insensitivity due to the common-path principle is also achieved,

The inclination of the rays striking the two plates 9 and 10 is still so small, at about 1 '10 ", that the plates are still struck almost vertically, and the inclination of the plate normal to the optical axis is + 35" in this case. The course of both rays is also almost ideal at these small angles. From Fig. 1 it can be further seen that the two intersections 28 and 29 (assumed in the example distance of 0.5 mm) spatially separated from the intersection 30 of the reflected rays' couches, so that the applied only in the optical axis mirror layer (R> 90 ° Q is not touched by the incident bundles e This ensures maximum light output.
Fig. 2 shows an application of the essence of the invention to the examination of spherical surfaces. According to FIG. 2, instead of the Wollaston plate, the laser beam can also be divided by means of a Savart plate 40 into two beams polarized perpendicular to one another, wherein one beam 41 continues parallel to the optical axis 12 and hits the FIZEAU reference surface 43 perpendicularly. The second beam 42 leaves the expansion system 8 slightly inclined again, is focused at point 45 and reflected on the slightly inclined or displaced against the optical axis specimen 44 (center of curvature 49) so that the rays are focused in the focal point 46. As a result, the Prüflingswelle 47 runs parallel to the reference shaft 48 out of the interferometer, so that the required interference may arise, phase position and detection and evaluation of the measured values are made in the same manner as in Fig. 1.
