FigurThe invention relates to an active opto-electronic arrangement for automatic focusing and can be applied to surfaces with any reflectivity. The task of realizing automatic focusing independently of the position, shape and structure of the surface is achieved by specifying an arrangement with which a self-illuminating or illuminated diaphragm is imaged onto the surface to be focused by optical components and its image through a beam splitter via a receiver aperture, which is identical to the transmitter aperture, is mapped to a receiver. The invention can be used for automatic focusing on structured and unstructured areas of arbitrary reflectivity.
Known technical solutions can be divided according to the principle into two groups, one of which works with the help of ultrasound and the other with light. The first group works according to the echo method and the second group is based on phase comparison, on the principle of the vibrating mirrors and on triangulation methods.
Other known methods use the spatial frequency filtering of the object or a generated object structure. The disadvantages of these methods are as follows: The echo method with ultrasound is limited in the transit time measurement and is not suitable for focusing accuracies of approx. 1 (in up to 1 mm.
The phase comparison uses the direct distance measurement via the evaluation of frequencies modulated on light and their phase relationship to each other. The accuracy is determined by the achievable frequencies. The oscillating mirror method is due to triangulation and thus limited by the base distance of the oscillating mirror. The corresponding accuracies are only achieved with sufficient base distance, the space requirement is considerable. For reflecting surfaces, tilting can not be clearly differentiated from defocusing. Although spatial frequency filtering techniques are preferable in accuracy, in automatic focusing where the object itself is filtered, there must also be matched spatial frequencies. Unstructured surfaces can not be focused. If a structure created in another room is focused on the object, the object must be as structureless as possible in order not to disturb the focus. The method can not be applied to diffuse reflecting surfaces.
The aim of the invention is to provide an arrangement with which automatic focusing can be performed without additional equipment overhead and the disadvantages of the prior art no longer occur.
The invention has for its object to provide an arrangement with which an automatic focusing regardless of the location, shape and structure of the surface to be focused on is possible. This object is achieved by an active optoelectronic arrangement for automatic focusing according to the invention in that in the arrangement known optical components are combined so that a maximum of energy is measured in the focused state. For this purpose, the following essential components are provided: an illuminated or self-illuminating diaphragm, an objective for imaging this diaphragm (transmitter lens), an intensity regulator, a beam splitter, a lens for focusing on a surface, a pupil splitter, a receiver lens, a receiver diaphragm, a lens for imaging the pupil on a receiver.
The arrangement is characterized in that the illuminated or self-illuminating diaphragm is imaged by the corresponding lens and the objective to be focused on the surface to be focused, wherein the image of the illuminated or self-illuminating aperture through the lens to be focused and the receiver lens to a corresponding magnification the same or complementary aperture is displayed and the intensity in the pupil is set to maximum or minimum in order to indicate the focusing state.
The surface to be focused on may be of organic or inorganic nature, structured or unstructured on polished or non-polished, diffused surface, may be planar or curved and tilted within certain limits. The radiation used for focusing can be unmodulated or modulated to eliminate disturbances and is coupled via a radiation splitter or timed clocked.
The receiver aperture is identical in size to the image of the illuminated or self-illuminating diaphragm. It is also essential that the aperture-limiting apertures of the transmitter objective, the receiver objective and the objective to be focused lie in the same or conjugate plane. The aperture-limiting apertures of transmitter and receiver objective should not overlap, they should be designed as a partial pupil of the pupil to be focused objective. This includes the special case of half-pupils.
Fig. 1 zeigt die Anordnung schematisch. The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to a drawing. Fig. 1 shows the arrangement schematically.
The illuminated or self-illuminating diaphragm 1 is imaged on the object plane 7 via the transmitter lens 2, an intensity control element 3, a pupil divider 4, a beam splitter 5 and the objective for focusing 6.
The light used for this purpose can be modulated for the suppression of false light components. The pupil divider 4 serves to eliminate false-light components which arise as a result of reflection at the interfaces of the downstream optical components.
Die Empfängerblende 9 muß in Form und Abmessungen mit dem Bild der auf die Empfängerblende abgebildeten Blende 1 identischIn the focused state, the aperture 1 imaged on the objective plane 7 is imaged sharply on the receiver aperture 9 by the objective for focusing 6, the beam splitter 5 and the pupil divider 4 through the receiver objective 8. The receiver diaphragm 9 must be identical in shape and dimensions to the image of the diaphragm 1 imaged on the receiver diaphragm
If the objective plane 7 is defocused, the aperture 1 shown on the object plane 7 is imaged in a blurred manner on the receiver aperture 9. The receiver diaphragm 9 can also be replaced by a complementary diaphragm of the same shape and size.
To measure the intensity, which is preferably to take place in the pupil, the pupil is imaged by the objective to the pupil image 10 on the photosensitive receiver 11. In the focused state, a maximum of energy is measured, when using the complementary diaphragm, the energy is a minimum.
