Charakteristik der bekannton technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the bekannton technical solutions
, For the direct measurement of the oxygen concentration in gases, methods are known which use the paramagnetic properties of the oxygen. Practical significance has been gained by the thermomagnetic and thermodynamic methods. .
The thermomagnetic method is based essentially on the fact that heating of the paramagnetic measuring gas a susceptibility difference is generated, which leads to a gas flow by the reduced in their susceptibility gas molecules, which initially collect under the magnetic poles due to the force in a strong magnetic field, then be displaced by the still unheated gas molecules. Realized sensors according to this method are z. As the annular chamber, which has undergone numerous modifications to improve the properties (VDI Report No. 199.1974). Disadvantages of this method are, depending on the respective realization form:
— die große Einstellzeit von 10...2Os- the long response time of 10 ... 2Os
— die Abhängigkeit der Messung von der spezifischen Wärme, der Zähigkeit des Gasgemisches bzw. der WärmeleitfähigkeitThe dependence of the measurement on the specific heat, the toughness of the gas mixture or the thermal conductivity
— die Lageabhängigkeit des Meßsystems- the position dependency of the measuring system
— die konstante Beströmung, die keine direkte Messung im Atemstrom erlaubt.- The constant flow, which does not allow direct measurement in the respiratory flow.
A part of these disadvantages is eliminated by the use of an auxiliary gas as a reference gas. However, this then results in the provision of this gas.
The electrodynamic method makes use of the fact that in an inhomogeneous magnetic field forces are exerted on paramagnetic oxygen molecules, which move them in the direction of the higher field strength. If there are elements in this magnetic field that do not exhibit this behavior, they are displaced from it. An implementation according to this method is the magnetic rotary balance (VDI Report No. 199.1974).
Disadvantages of this system are the too long setup time of about 1 s and the complexity of the mechanical system. The measuring system continues to respond with a high degree of interference to contaminated gases and to different gas flows. The latter aspect requires a pumping out of the measurement gas from the measurement path.
Furthermore, a known as magneto-mechanical Resonatorprinzip method is known, which uses the oxygen-dependent Feldnachgiebigkeit in the air gap of a magnetic circuit, based on the paramagnetic properties of oxygen (DD-WP 145427). The disadvantage here has shown in particular the oscillatory movement of the armature formed as an armature of the magnetic circuit.
The object of the invention is to develop an oxygen sensor which does not contain any moving elements whose mechanical structure does not impose special requirements, which meets the requirements of the continuous determination of the oxygen concentration in gas mixtures and which does not require reference gases.
It is the object of the invention to provide a non-selective sensor element for gases by utilizing the paramagnetic properties of oxygen as a selectively acting oxygen sensor.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that the magnetic circuit has an air gap with non-homogeneous magnetic field in which the microacoustic surface wave sensor element is arranged such that the field gradient is directed perpendicular to the propagation surface of the surface acoustic wave and in that the air gap and the surface sensor element in a measuring cuvette are arranged. The microacoustic surface wave sensor element can also be arranged directly in the air gap.
The magnetic circuit is preferably designed as a soft iron circuit, the excitation being pulse-shaped. Since the surface acoustic wave sensor element is the frequency-determining element of the sine-wave oscillator, the time between energization of the magnetic circuit and the maximum value of the change of the oscillator frequency or the rise time of the frequency response function or the maximum frequency change may be an oxygen-proportional image size. Furthermore, it is expedient that the frequency-determining element of a reference oscillator is arranged in the magnetic field-free space of the measuring cuvette and that the reference oscillator is hermetically sealed and filled with a defined gas.
In der Zeichnung zeigen:The solution according to the invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to an embodiment. In the drawing show:
The oxygen sensor consists of a microacoustic surface wave sensor element 1, an air gap 2, which are arranged in a measuring cuvette 3 and a magnetic circuit 4, which is realized as a soft iron circuit with a magnetic coil 5 is realized. The magnetic circuit 4 has the air gap 2 with non-homogeneous magnetic field by the microacoustic surface wave sensor element 1 is arranged such that a field gradient 6 degrees 0 == f (t) is directed perpendicular to the propagation surface of the surface acoustic wave and that the air gap 2 and the Surface wave sensor element 1 are arranged in a meßgasführenden measuring cuvette 3.
The paramagnetic properties of the oxygen cause, depending on the field gradient 6, the absolute field strength, the oxygen concentration in the gas mixture and the time, on the surface of the surface acoustic wave sensor element 1, a gas composition determined by the oxygen concentration.
According to FIG. 2, the microacoustic surface wave sensor element 1 is arranged directly in the inhomogeneous air gap 2. In this case, a force due to the field gradient 6 acts on the oxygen molecules and thus on the surface of the surface sensing element 1.
In Figure 3, the wiring of the surface acoustic wave sensor element 1 is shown as a sine wave oscillator, which consists of a reference oscillator 7 and a mixer 8. In order to generate a low-frequency, readily evaluable measured variable, a difference frequency Af = f2-fi 9 is formed in the mixer 8 by means of the reference oscillator 7. The test frequency f 2 can also result from a separately arranged circuit or be realized by a microacoustic component with the same wiring and arrangement in the cuvette but outside the effective gradient of the magnetic field (not shown). The gas composition determined by the oxygen concentration can be detected as a selective frequency or frequency change. The oxygen-proportional image size may be the time between excitation of the magnetic circuit 4 and the maximum value of the change of the oscillator frequency or the rise time of the frequency response function or the maximum frequency change.
The frequency-determining element of the reference oscillator 7 is arranged in the magnetic field-free space of the measuring cell 3. The reference oscillator 7 is hermetically sealed and filled with a defined gas.
The solution according to the invention realizes a continuous measurement in that the magnetic field is interrupted cyclically, so that the magnetic field-related gas inhomogeneity can be eliminated in magnetic-field-free space. Furthermore, the pause between two excitation pulses of the magnetic field is used for zero-line correction.
