Abstract
FigurThe invention relates to the biological treatment of wastewater by the activated sludge process. The aim of the invention is the increase of the space load and the improvement of the degree of purification. According to the invention, the purified wastewater is removed from the turbulent mixing activated sludge tank by filtration through a sieve cloth, a filter membrane or a porous filter layer. In the aeration tank the filter surface is circulated at a sufficiently high speed to avoid blockage. For this purpose, the drum provided with the filter material is preferably set in rotation. Furthermore, the Umwaelzstroemung resulting from the ventilation can be exploited to keep the filter free. figure
Description
Anwendungsgebiet der ErfindungField of application of the invention
The invention relates to the biological treatment of wastewater by the activated sludge process. The activated sludge process can be used to clean all wastewater containing biodegradable organic ingredients. These are municipal wastewater, but also many wastewater from agriculture and industrial plants. The invention further relates to the greatest possible removal of suspended solids from the wastewater.
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen Lösungen Für das Belebtschlammverfahren werden nach bisherigem Kenntnisstand mindestens zwei Reaktoren benötigt:Characteristics of the Known Technical Solutions For the activated sludge process, according to current knowledge, at least two reactors are required:
In the aeration tank, the wastewater is mixed together with the recycled activated sludge and simultaneously aerated. In Nachklärbecken the separation of sludge and sewage, z. B. by sedimentation or flotation. The more or less concentrated activated sludge is predominantly returned to the activated sludge tank. The disadvantage of this method is mainly in the size of the required reactors. To reduce the volume of the aeration tank has been trying to achieve a higher concentration of sludge there. For this purpose, the return sludge ratio has been increased. However, this is only possible to a limited extent, as this increases the burden on the final settling tank. In order to achieve a higher load capacity of Nachklärbecken, has worked with special installations in the sedimentation zone, especially with tube packages. However, it has been found that the space under the built-in space for the thickening of the sludge is not sufficient, since the thickening is much slower than the first phase of sedimentation.
Another disadvantage of the prior art can be seen in the sometimes not inconsiderable suspended matter discharge from the secondary clarifier.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is to substantially increase the space loading possible for the activation process and to achieve a waste-free operation. The complicated facilities for the removal of sludge from the secondary clarifier should be saved.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has the object to develop a method by which it is possible to dispense with the continuous cycle of sludge thickening in the secondary clarifier and the subsequent dilution in the addition of wastewater in the aeration tank. In this case, a high sludge concentration should be kept in the aeration tank. Furthermore, a novel system is to be developed.
According to the invention the object is achieved in that the wastewater from the turbulent mixing activated sludge tank is removed by filtration through a sieve cloth, a filter membrane or a porous filter layer. The filter layer is kept free of deposits by a liquid flow parallel to the filter surface.
The device according to the invention consists of an aeration tank, in which at least one rotating filter drum is arranged, which has a porous filter layer or is covered with a mesh or a filter membrane. The interior of the filter drum is provided with a drain.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the filter drum is horizontally ange¬ near the pool wall, where the Belüiiungieinrichtung is located. The rotation of the Filterirommel takes place in the opposite direction to the rising liquid flow.
The invention will be explained below with reference to an embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings:
In an activation tank 1 of rectangular cross section, the pressure ventilation 9 is arranged on a longitudinal wall 8. This creates the known circulation flow. Near the wall 8 are a series of filter drums 5. These are covered with a microsieve fabric 2. The wastewater to be discharged passes through the microsieve fabric 2 and enters the drainage 7. The concentration concentration which is formed reduces the filter speed. It is therefore necessary to produce sufficiently large shear forces on the filter surface. For this purpose, the filter drums 5 are set in rotation. To enhance this effect, the rotation takes place against the rising liquid flow.
