Titel der Erfindung Haftmittel für Sahnprothesen Title of the invention Adhesive for cream dentures
The invention relates to the use of chemically-modified carboxymethylcellulose products as denture adhesives.
B. Alginat, Carayagummi, Carrageen, Gummi arabicum, Guargummi, PektinFor use as adhesives for dentures a variety of compounds, mainly polysaccharides and polysaccharide derivatives, especially gum and cellulose derivatives, but also synthetic polymers and inorganic substances have been proposed. Specifically, natural products or derivatives thereof, such as. Alginate, caraya gum, carrageenan, gum arabic, guar gum, pectin

Starch, tragacanth or gelatin and Carraghenate, gelatin / aluminum chloride, furthermore cellulose derivatives, such as carboxymethyl, hydroxyethyl, methyl cellulose, as well as synthetic polymers, such as polyvinyl alcohol, ethers, pyrrolidone, polyacrylamide, polymethacrylic acid and also inorganic substances, such as. As silica gel, alone or in combination were recommended.
The adhesives are generally used in the form of a powder or fine-grained granules, which is sprinkled onto the moistened denture and swells to a gel-like layer. This gelatinous layer should guarantee a high adhesive strength as long as possible. For this purpose, in addition to the adhesion forces, the shear strength of the layer plays an essential role. The adhesive layer should also retain its efficacy for a long time under the action of the saliva. The materials must be physiologically harmless, d. H. · Not toxic, not irritating to mucous membranes, etc. In addition, the taste properties are also relevant for the suitability.
However, the substances known as adhesives are far from the demands made on them sufficiently adequate. This also results in all attempts to achieve improved performance by combining different substances. Thus, for example, DE-OS 2011899 proposes the use of a mixture of a cellulose derivative, preferably carboxymethylcellulose, of high solution viscosity, with one of low solution viscosity in combination and an alginate, alginate derivative or with gelatin, whereby improvements in adhesive strength over time have been achieved , Insufficient here u. a. the shear strength of the gel layer formed during use and becoming effective.
Object of the invention is an adhesive for dentures that meet the stated purpose in better quality and beyond should have a higher utility value, it is physiologically safe, non-irritating to mucous membranes and tasteless.
- Aufgabenstellung- Task
The object of the invention is ; to develop a denture adhesive from modified cellulosic products which provides high adhesive strength and adhesive life and is capable of forming durable high shear strength gel layers.
- Merkmale der ErfindungFeatures of the invention
Surprisingly, it has been found that carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) crosslinking products with one another or with other polysaccharides or polysaccharide derivatives which have been partially crosslinked by esterification between the carboxyl groups and the hydroxyl groups of the components used have properties which are extremely advantageous for use as a denture adhesive Such products can be obtained by reacting CMC, preferably a CMC of medium to high solution viscosity and an average degree of substitution of preferably 0.5 to 1.5, with a different CMC or with another hydroxyl-containing polysaccharide or polysaccharide derivative as the second component ,
As a component, these products according to the invention as adhesives suitable in addition to carboxymethylcellulose, for example alginate, carrageenin, carrageenan, gum arabic, guar gum, locust bean gum, pectin, starch, tragacanth, carboxyethyl, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl starch or polyvinyl alcohol in proportions of at least 5 %, preferably from 20 to 50 % by weight alone or in mixtures. For their use as adhesives, CMC-based crosslinking products have proven to be suitable in which more than 0.5%, preferably 5 to 50 %, of the carboxyl groups of the CMC are reacted with hydroxyl groups and reacted to a product partially crosslinked with the crosslinking component. Such products can be obtained, for example, by reacting the components to be crosslinked in a partially nonaqueous medium consisting of water and a miscible organic liquid, preferably ethanol or isopropanol, after proportionate conversion of the carboxyl groups of the components used by acid addition to the acid form Temperature converts.
The crosslinking products based on CMC to be used according to the invention as adhesives are characterized not only by fast wettability and good yellowing ability, but also by the ability to form gel layers with increased shear strength with high adhesive strength and adhesive life. In addition, the dissolution of these products is considerably slowed, with gel-like to insoluble fractions occurring in the adhesive layer which forms. Such products have an increased use value compared to the products previously proposed as adhesives for dental prostheses also inasmuch as the spit stimulation frequently triggered by known products during use does not occur here, as has been shown in the wearing test. Furthermore, such products are largely tasteless.
The agents according to the invention can contain additives, such as. B astringent compounds, antiseptics for the disinfection of the oral mucosa, vitamins, JTicotinsäureamid, peppermint oil, salts for confectioning be added in a conventional manner ·
As second polysaccharide, these products contained as crosslinking component:
a) enzymatisch teilhydrolysierte Stärkea) enzymatically partially hydrolyzed starch
b) Alginatb) alginate
c) Traganthc) tragacanth
Die Produkte waren derart teilvernetzt, daß etwa 0,3 mMol/g an Carboxylgruppen verestert und teilvernetzt vorlagen·The products were partially crosslinked such that about 0.3 mmol / g of carboxyl groups esterified and partially crosslinked.
Gelcoats produced therefrom as adhesion promoters showed at least 50 % increased shear strengths compared to the simple mixtures of the components.
In the wear test, considerably increased sand times of the gel layers were observed in comparison with various preferred polysaccharide compositions proposed as adhesives, which, for example, no longer necessitated a renewal of the adhesive layer during an application day. Furthermore, the comfort (taste indifferent, no more spit) significantly improved.
