Description
The method can be used for preforming etched aluminum foil and serves to produce high-capacitance and stable high-voltage anode foils for electrolytic capacitors. These capacitors are widely used in electrical engineering / electronics.
From the patent literature numerous Formierverfahren are known and common in practice. To obtain films for the manufacture of capacitors which are stable to the attack of water at elevated temperatures, i.a. the application of phosphoric acid or phosphates is proposed. For example, DE-AS 2401146 describes a method for forming anode foil for electrolytic capacitors, in which the first forming stage is carried out in known manner in forming baths with conventional forming electrolytes and subsequently the forming of the anode foil in the second stage is carried out in the later used operating electrolyte. The operating electrolyte should consist of an aqueous or low-water glycol borate phosphate solution. A similar process is described in DE-PS 2235112, wherein as Formierelektrolyt an ammonium dihydrogen phosphate solution or a solution of sodium benzoate is used. Also in DE-PS 1 614 508 a multi-stage process for the production of dielectrically acting oxide layers on aluminum electrodes for electrolytic capacitors is described in which phosphoric acid, boric acid or citric acid is used. A disadvantage of the known solutions that they are very time consuming and expensive.
It is an object of the invention to find a method that allows a more cost-effective forming of high-voltage anode foil and can be carried out in a small amount of time.
The invention has for its object to provide a method by which a hydration-resistant and high-capacitance oxide layer is applied to provided with boehmite base aluminum foil. According to the invention the object is achieved by the following forming steps:
— Formierung in verdünnter Phosphorsäure auf etwa ein Drittel der endgültigen Formierspannung.- Forming in dilute phosphoric acid to about one third of the final Formierspannung.
— Formierung in einem Hochvoltelektrolyten auf die Formierendspannung.- Forming in a high-voltage electrolyte to the Formierendspannung.
— Temperung der Folie bei 323-753K- Tempering of the film at 323-753K
— Formierung in verdünnter Phosphorsäure auf eine Spannung, die über der Funkenspannung dieser Phosphorsäure, aber unter der Formierendspannung liegt.- Forming in dilute phosphoric acid to a voltage that is above the spark voltage of this phosphoric acid, but below the Formierungsspannung.
— Temperung der Folie bei 323-753K.- Tempering of the film at 323-753K.
— Formierung in einem Hochvoltelektrolyten auf die Formierendspannung.- Forming in a high-voltage electrolyte to the Formierendspannung.
As high-voltage electrolytes mainly 4-10% boric acid solutions are used with specific conductivity. The temperatures of boric acid and phosphoric acid electrolytes should be 363 ± 2K.
