Verfahren zur Herstellung thermoplastischer schlagzäher Norbornen-Ethen-CopolymererProcess for the preparation of thermoplastic toughened norbornene-ethene copolymers
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of thermoplastic molding compositions based on Norboraen ethene copolymers, in which filler-containing elastomers are incorporated. The molding compositions can be injection-molded into mechanically highly stressed moldings to which special requirements with regard to strength, dimensional stability, toughness and elongation at break are set are, for. B. for housing parts and functional parts in electrical engineering and equipment, are processed ·
Es ist bekannt, daß Korbornen-Sthen-Copolymere auf Grund der niedrigen Schlagzähigkeit und Reißdehnung nicht für Formteile geeignet sind, die dynamisch belastet werdenIt is known that basket-core-styrene copolymers are not suitable for molded parts which are loaded dynamically due to the low impact strength and elongation at break
oder die über ©in gewisses plastisches Deformationsvermögen verfügen müssen.or have to have some plastic deformation capability via ©.
To eliminate this defect Elaste, z. As styrene-butadiene rubber or elastic thermoplastics, such as Etben-vinyl acetate copolymers (DD-PS 129 799) incorporated. Although this method leads to an improvement in the impact resistance, the elongation at break is only increased to 2 to 3 times compared to unmodified basket-ethene-ethylene copolymer. It is also known that in other brittle thermoplastics, z. As polystyrene by incorporating a prepared in a kneading process mixture of chalk and elastomers, which are mainly composed of butadiene, the impact strength can be improved in a comparable manner as in the incorporation of pure elastomers, but a further increase in elongation at break does not occur (C08F / 227 160/1).
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention is a norbornene-ethene copolymer with improved impact strength and, compared to known mixtures, substantially increased elongation at break.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Korbornen-Ethen-Copolymeren mit verbesserter Schlagzähigkeit und wesentlich erhöhter Reißdehnung zu entwickeln· Diese Aufgabe wird durch ein Verfahren zur Herstellung thermoplastischer schlagzäher Norbomen-Ethen-Copolymerer mit wesentlich erhöhter Reißdehnung durch Einarbeiten einer Füllstoff-Elast-Mischung, bei der der Elast die Füllstoffpartikel vollständig umschließt, gelöst, wobei erfindungsgemäß einem Norbornen-Ethen-Copolymeren eine zerkleinerte Füllstoff-Elast-Mischung, auf deren Oberfläche flüssige Dispergatoren mit hydrophobierender Wirkung auf anorganischer oder organischer Basis vor oder während der Einarbeitung in Konzentrationen von 0,2The object of the invention is to develop a process for the production of a basket ethene-ethylene copolymer with improved impact strength and substantially increased elongation at break. This object is achieved by a process for producing thermoplastic impact-resistant norbornene-ethene copolymers having a substantially increased elongation at break by incorporating a filler -Elast mixture in which the Elast completely encloses the filler, dissolved, according to the invention a norbornene-ethene copolymers a crushed filler-elast mixture on their surface liquid dispersants with hydrophobic effect on an inorganic or organic basis before or during incorporation in concentrations of 0.2

The modification of the norbornene-ethene copolymers with the filler-elast mixture is carried out by means of known technological methods of incorporation, optionally also with the use of other additives, such as pigments, thermal and light stabilizers, lubricants and / or anti static statics.
Überrasohend wurde gefunden, daß nicht nur die Schlagzähigkeit des Ausgangspolymeren verbessert wird, sondern auch die Reißdehnung sich auf das 5- bis 6fache erhöht und damit ein Niveau erlangt, das bei Abmischungen mit reinen Elastomeren und ohne Einarbeitung flüssiger Dispergatoren mit hydrophobierender Wirkung nicht erreichbar ist« Die Erhöhung der Schlagzähigkeit der Ausgangspolymeren bei gleichzeitiger Einarbeitung preisgünstiger Füllstoffe ergibt günstige ökonomische Einsatzmöglichkeiten in den Fällen, wo keine extrem hohe Schlagzähigkeit gefordert wird· Andererseits ermöglicht die hohe Reißdehnung einen Einsatz in solchen Fällen, wo Abmischungen von Norbornen-Ethen-Copolymeren mit reinem Elastomeren hinsichtlich dieser Eigenschaft den Anforderungen nicht genügen*Überrasohend was found that not only the impact strength of the starting polymer is improved, but also the elongation at break is increased to 5 to 6 times and thus reached a level that is unreachable when blended with pure elastomers and without incorporation of liquid dispersants with hydrophobic effect « The increase in the impact strength of the starting polymers while incorporating inexpensive fillers gives favorable economic applications in cases where extremely high impact strength is not required. On the other hand, the high elongation at break enables use in such cases where blends of norbornene-ethene copolymers with pure elastomers this property does not meet the requirements *
