Abstract
While the aim of the invention is to provide a valve seat ring for internal combustion engines, whereby the life of internal combustion engines, especially the cylinder heads, can be increased, the object is, without using expensive materials and without the production or installation of the valve seat rings in the cylinder head an internal combustion engine to find a way how to avoid cracking in the valve seat rings. The invention now consists in that the height of the seat ring in mm is less than or at least equal to the quotient of the number "55" and the average temperature gradient, measured in K / mm, on the combustion chamber side of the cylinder head. In this case, the average temperature gradient is determined from the difference between the combustion chamber side temperatures on the cylinder head in the middle of the bridge and the temperature close to the cylinder diameter. From this difference and the distance between the measuring points, the quotient is then formed.

Ventilsitzring für Brennkraftmaschinen Anwendungsgebiet der Erfindung Valve seat ring for internal combustion engines Field of application of the invention
The invention relates to a valve seat ring for internal combustion engines, in particular for the exhaust valves of air-compressing, direct-injection internal combustion engines, in which the cylinder head is thermally highly loaded and the cylinder diameter between 80 and <150 ram, wherein the seat ring is seen in cross-section almost rectangular -
They generally withstand the stresses adequately. In air-compressing, direct-injection internal combustion engines, however, it is depending on the mixture educational ~ or Verbrennungsνerfahreη and after the construction of the engine thoroughly before that the remaining between the inlet valve and the Auslaßventil'im cylinder head web reaches the combustion chamber side temperatures of 400 0 C or more, - Mainly this is the case if a high air turbulence intensity in the combustion chamber and small combustion chamber openings are provided,
At such temperatures, it may well happen that cracks occur in the seat ring for the exhaust valve, the

The cracks preferably form in the area of the valve web, because the highest temperatures prevail there, as a result of which the cylinder head bottom deflects the most as a result of large temperature gradients. The bending stresses of the valve seat ring caused by the thermal deflection, together with the mechanical stresses, lead to the described cracking.
The aim of the invention is to provide a valve seat ring for internal combustion engines, whereby the life of the internal combustion engine, in particular the cylinder heads, can be increased.
The invention has for its object to complicate without using expensive materials and without the production or installation of the valve seat rings to find a way as a crack in the valve seat rings is avoided.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the height of the index ring in mm is smaller or at most equal to the quotient of the number "55" and the average temperature gradient, measured in K / mm, on the combustion chamber side of the cylinder head (h <55 / degree T in mm) β
The solution idea is therefore based on the reduction of the tensile stresses caused by the bending in the valve seat ring,

By reducing the height of the seat rings or limited to a level at which the tensile stresses can still be absorbed by the material, '.
As a development of the invention, it is proposed that the average temperature gradient in K / mm is determined from the difference between the combustion chamber side temperatures at the cylinder head in the web center T and the temperature T 2 close to the cylinder diameter, and that from this difference T. = s T 2 and the distance a in mm between the measuring points of the quotient is formed (T grad a (T 1 -T 2 ) / a in K / mm.
In this way one obtains the actual average temperature gradient, which is finally decisive for the considerations underlying the invention,
In der zugehörigen Zeichnung zeigen:The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. In the accompanying drawing show:

In the Pig «1 to 3, the cylinder 1 of an internal combustion engine and the cylinder head produced predominantly aas cast iron are shown. The cylinder 1 has a diameter D and its center vjird formed by the intersection of two axes x, y Within the diameter D are in the cylinder head 2 a ^ smaller valve seat ring 3 for a not shown exhaust valve and a larger valve seat ring for a likewise not shown inlet valve attached.
As is apparent from Figure e 1, the centers of the VEN 4 are tilsitzringe 3 »on an axis w, which in parallel, but laterally offset by a distance e to the axis χ runs. If the engine during operation so thermally stressed that occur at the combustion chamber side surface of the wall of the cylinder head 2 in the region of the valve web, which is the part between the two valve seat rings 3 »4, temperatures of 400 0 G and more, so bends the wall of the cylinder head 2 as shown in Fig. 3, in particular in the direction of the axis ζ to the combustion chamber through so far that there must be a crack in the region 5 of the valve seat ring 3 for the exhaust valve. To avoid this, measured at the combustion chamber side surface of the wall of the cylinder head 2 once at point 6, ie in the web center, the temperature T. And once at point 7 near the wall of the cylinder 1, the temperature T 2 , T 2 pulls from T ,, and divides the value by the distance a measured in mm between the two points 6 and 7 ". This gives the mean temperature gradient grad T in K / mm.
Soll nun eine Rißbildung in den Ventilsitzringen 3» 4 vermieden werden, so muß deren Höhe h in mm kleiner oderIf now a crack in the valve seat rings 3 »4 are avoided, so must the height h in mm smaller or

höchstens gleich 55/grad T sein·not more than 55 degrees T ·
Abschließend sei noch bemerkt, daß der Abstand a auch ermittelt werden kann, indem man von dem halben Zylinderdurchmesser D/2 den Abstand e abzieht (a = D/2 - e in mm)·Finally, it should be noted that the distance a can also be determined by subtracting the distance e from the half cylinder diameter D / 2 (a = D / 2-e in mm).
